I'll lead off by saying that the complaints about unanswered phone calls, limited hours, etc., are mostly true. But once you're there, this is the best vet office in the area. The vet is smart, experienced and honest. Pets get excellent care, owners are given the respect of having their pet's health accurately explained to them and of being heard about their priorities. There are no manipulative high-pressure sales tactics, and the prices are reasonable and transparent. For convenience, I've gone to some other vets in the area that are open at all hours and have multiple receptionists and a fancy waiting room, and while that's all nice (and sometimes the hours are necessary), those places charge literally ten times more and don't come close in level of care. In most circumstances, I think this is the vets office to go to. read more

It is a pleasure going to his office and even my pets enjoy the visit. It is like a family, my family since my pets are everything to me. He has diagnosed a condition that even Matthew Ryan, University of Pennsylvania Animal hospital missed. Dr Travory takes the time to talk with you so that you understand your pet's condition, treatment options, and prognosis. U of P discusses payment options way before your pet is seen, Conshohocken Veterinary Hospital bills you as the last step, and they don't have their hands in your pockets. I feel fortunate to have found this service and been able to use it for so many years. Since my dogs are number #!, Dr Travory is #2. The only thing that I would like to see improve would be for a human being to answer the telephone during business hours, but I know if they are open and I have an emergency, I will not be turned away. read more

Do Not Use this veterinary hospital if you are participating in the Spay & Save program. If my dog Shelby were a car, then this vet hospital would be considered a Chop Shop. Despite the appearance of the facility, the tech there in the morning was very nice, very reassuring. However....when we got there to pick her up, around 5:00 p.m., we were told she had been kept in the basement all day with the owner's dog, crated, but who was not the nicest of dogs. Other than the owner's dog, she was alone. We were told, and I'm hesitant to belive, that she (the tech, receptionist, etc.) checked on her every 20 minutes. Further, Dr. Tavory made absolutely no appearance, no introduction, nothing. Before my personal experience with Dr. Tavory, I had heard wonderful raviews...however, after this, NEVER recommend anyone to this veterinary hospital. As a side note, Shelby developed an infection, and required a visit to our on vet during the healing process. read more

Dr tavoy is a caring man and his prices show that he is obviously not doing this to get rich . I had a dog with Cushing disease that I took to another vet after endless testing AND endless charges they gave me medication that was about 150.00 per month and she finally passed . We now have another beagle with Cushing and I went to consho vet 1 blood test 200.00 and a diagnosis 45.00 per month meds and she is doing fine. We've had our dog for a little over a year and he's had issue after issue after issue -- we've taken him to Conshohocken Vet Hospital about 8 times and they've been amazing every time. We started going here because of the spay and neuter program, but stayed because of the wonderful care Dr. Tavory and his staff give to our kitties. The staff are friendly, care is unbelievably affordable and our kitties have always received thorough check-ups and responded well to all care provided there. I am appalled by the way they run this vet clinic. After almost 9 months, I found out that this vet was still open. I actually went there and they were open! Appointment got cancelled. My dog needed her vaccine shots. I have called every day for the last 6 days, 2-3 times a day. Most of the time, the phone rings and then goes directly to a fax line. The other half, I would get a message saying that if they were open, they were probably in surgery and call back. THEY DO NOT HAVE AN ANSWERING MACHINE! I need copies of my dogs records, but they won't even answer the phone. So unprofessional. The vet may be cheaper, but I am going to HICKORY VET HOSPITAL. They've taken good care of her during the last year. I was trying to save money by going with the less expensive vet (Hickory is mucho dinero, like a resort). However, I rather spend the money, than deal with these jokers. read more

Many vets see an older pet as an opportunity to maximize profit without any interest in the animal's health, but I finally found a fantastic veterinarian, Dr. Tavory! He is an expert diagnostician, a caring man who calmed down my anxious, elderly cat, and he took the time to communicate what was wrong and how to fix it for a reasonable price. Dr. Tavory diagnosed my cat with crystals in her urine, and prescribed an antibiotic and a change in her food. After 2 weeks, my cat has a new lease on life! She gained weight; her coat is thicker and shinier, and is acting as playful as she was years ago! Dr. Tavory and his staff genuinely care and work really hard in their busy practice. If you can't get in touch pop in, to the person whose dog was poisoned..you should have already called the poison hotline and had the situation assesed. I can't really say anything bad about Dr. Tavory or his staff. He is a no nonsense, get to the point (but caring) kind of doc and his staff are all nice. His office could be cleaner, but the reason I have to switch to another vet is because of the difficulty in getting in touch with his office to schedule an appointment. My dog is rather low maintenance and does not require many visits, but recently she was seen and now needs to be seen again. The first time I had to call several days in a row before getting a person on the phone (either the voice mailbox was full or it went straight to a fax machine). Once I spoke with someone I was able to get my dog seen quickly; however, I have tried several times again today and unfortunately will not continue the efforts. I called another vet and got a live person immediately and already have an appointment set-up for tonight. read more

Brought my cat here for a teeth cleaning and routine exam. The doctor and staff were very nice. He answered all my questions thoroughly and took his time with me even though I could tell he was busy. They cleaned my cat's ears for free, which I though was very nice! The only downside to this practice is that it's hard to get a hold of them sometimes. The phone is often busy or goes right to voice mail. I've also left messages without receiving a return phone call. Love the doctor, but he needs to reconsider his office and staff. Have called 40 times (according to my phone) in the past week during their business hours and they never answer their phone. Message box is full so you can't leave a message but it doesn't matter because they said they don't listen to them anyway. Have horrible hours and will close during business hours whenever they don't feel like coming in. It was suggested that I take my dog here after moving to the area - I was actually highly referred by a neighbor who had nothing but great things to say. I did think the receptionist & doctor were nice but I couldn't keep going here for 2 reasons: 1. You can never get through on the phone to ask questions or schedule an appointment - Not ever & that's no exaggeration. 2. It's extremely dirty. I had to pull my dog away from colored liquid on the floor by the weighing scale .. Not sure if it was throw up or pee but it definitely wasn't water nor appealing & it remained on the floor for my entire visit. I will say that the pricing is really reasonable for the area - No complaints there. If in a bind, I would try to make another appointment - This just couldn't be my dog's primary vet. read more

I wanted to write this in order to clarify the 1-Star reviews below, because I can understand why those people are frustrated. Despite the term "hospital" used in this vet's title, do not bring your pet here for an emergency - go to Hickory or Metropolitan, like their voicemail suggests. This vet is AMAZING for routine check-ups and scheduled surgeries - things that you can plan weeks in advance for. For example, my fiance and I are in the process of getting a new puppy and I just made the first appointment for over a month from now because of how booked they get. I have shown up several times without an appointment, just because of how fabulous the pricing is, knowing that I was likely to wait more than three hours before seeing the doc. Even for an appointment, it is pretty much a given you could be waiting almost an hour past your appointment time. This is an awesome vet to go to if you have a few hours to spare and know that you're going to pay way below emergency care prices. And, besides the pricing, the care my dogs and cats have received has been tremendous. The doc gets straight to-the-point on issues your pet is having, what options there are, and really knows his stuff. Yes, the place could be a bit cleaner, but I've never had any issues with animals that I've left in his care. So - for those people who left reviews about the service - I think they may have had the wrong idea about what this place offers, or are just too impatient to continue to do business with this mom-and-pop vet business. This place is run by only a handful of vet techs and ONE veterinarian, so he gets very busy very quickly. Like I said, unless you have weeks in advance to schedule an appointment or several hours available one day, do not go to this vet. Stopped here last night with a stray kitten we found just to get her checked out. First and foremost, the place is filthy! We waited at the receptionist's desk for about 30 minutes with another women who's dog drank ammonia and who's mouth was turning white. The receptionist finally asked who was next and once we told her that we didn't have an appointment and we just wanted to see if we could be fit in we were told there were several other appointments that evening and they closed at 7 and it was now 7:15 so there was no way. Since it was just us and the women with the dog waiting she was obviously lying about the several other appointments that evening. She told us her next appointment was in two weeks. The women with the dog who drank ammonia asked if it was possible for the doctor to look at him real quick as she thought he might be poisoned and the receptionist said no. I lived in Lafayette Hill (now NM) and began bringing my dogs to Dr. Tavory several years ago. I have had a few good vets over a couple of decades but I was extremely pleased with Dr. Tavory and his staff. They are very kind, loving, helpful and professional. My cousin had told me about him and that his rates were very fair. I told a friend and she was also very pleased with the care he provided for her sick dog. Her dog is now doing very well. read more
