Called this morning and spoke with Janet to see if my dog could possibly come in for a tech visit. My dog did have a scheduled appt for tues, but she has been coughing and and allergies making a suffer. My dog nearly ever comes inside because she doesn't go around other dogs.So the last time they were busy, the tech was able to just run outside real fast and give my dog a shot at the car.That's all I was asking. Janet was so rude and ignorant as I was asking her any possible way. She was getting annoyed with me and she said no go take her to emerg room. She continued to be rude and she then didn't want to hear anything else i was saying she clearly had no empathy for my dog or for me. She hung up on me in the middle of the conversation. I called right back and she just hung the phone up. I called for the third time and she put me on hold. After that, I decided to call another veterinarian, who was kind and compassionate and have no problem taking me first thing. They didn't mind all the questions that I was asking, and I told them exactly how I was treated by janet at steinbach vet. I later called back to see if my records were sent to the new veterinarian and to cancel the appointment that I had scheduled on Tuesday. I then spoke with Jessica who apologized for Janet. For what she did to me, this is unacceptable. No empathy and didn't seem to care that my dog was suffering. And literally, it just shows what type of person she is, and she has no compassion, and she was rude and ignorant. And this is how you do business. You hang up on your clients. She should not be working there. She should be fired, no compassion and hung up. I would not recommend this vet. Stay far away from them. It's not a very clean place either, and it's old and dingy. The office has changed drastically and not for the better! Jackie S (Steinbach?) is making all the decisions. I needed rabies shots for 2 of my 3 cats. I went in to schedule, and when I stated there was a "multiple pet discount of 20% on the account, Jackie S. stated only for Pumpkin who was not in need for an update yet. I replied that was not true and went back the next day with 13 invoices for 13 different visits/services for 4 different pets since 2013, all clearly showing a 20% discount removed from the charge! All the long term girls on the front desk always honored it since it was clearly noted for all 3 of our pets, so I asked that individual to check with Dr. King, who had authorized that discount in 2013 and honored it for 13 years. Had Jackie removed that 20% multiple pet discount noted in the files of 13 years? Rather than a response to my question, I next receive 3 separate emails. Attached were all my our pet's records and that Jackie S coldly and unilaterally decided my primary veterinarian of 13 years was no longer going to see our pets since we were no longer "a good fit!!" No warning, No courtesy of Dr. King's reply to honoring his offer of 13 years, nothing! To any new clients considering this office, i do not recommend them due to Jackie's rude and inconsiderate treatment to a long term client who spent $thousands over 13 years! The experienced staff is no longer there. It used to include multiple staff veterinarians and now down to just 1 full time owner, Dr. King. i love dr. king and this vet. i can't say enough good things. i rescue and save cats that arent even mine, but somehow i inherited this guy, who was in a bad way with a really bad cut/abscess. dr. king got me in on sunday and helped nurse this cat back to health. i have gone to alot of vets in my years rescuing cats, and having my own, and cannot say enough good things about steinbach vet. dr king, you're the best, thank you. read more

The staff and doctor were unprofessional and office is unorganized with young incompetent staff. Doctor said to me "what else ya got" when I was upset that they had my animal from 7:30am to 7pm for an MRI. I never raised my voice b/c I was so upset for my animal. Also, they gave my animal who weighted 10 pounds if that, gabapentan and kitty magic as they called it. My cat could not walk for 3 days. Stay clear of this office. it's Just an assembly line. I am furiously writing this from the parking lot after this is the second appointment that was canceled or told does not exist. How... how does that happen?! I spoke to a very nice woman who helped me reschedule my first appointment after it was canceled AT THE OFFICE! This person was nice enough to give me hours so that I could rush home from work, get my animals into the car and get there before rush hour. I arrive early for my appointment and tried to check only to be told that my appointment DOES NOT exist. HOW?! There was a person who spoke to me and scheduled it for me two weeks before. I left gobsmacked that this is the way a business can be run. Not even I'm sorry from the staff. Not even can I help you reschedule?! I have been going here for the past 4 years and have brought my families animals here as well. Dr.King has been amazing and always treats us with respect and curiosity. My dog Diezel had a habit of eating objects other than food and required surgery twice ( 6months apart ) both costing a lot, as you would expect. Dr King let us do a payment plan for both and because the one surgery was right after Christmas, he actually knocked off almost $1000! He is knowledgeable and professional and always hospitable when we come. He is fair with his prices and has even charged us nothing after examining my dog after being attacked because he did not need to do much other then the initial examination. He knows I worry more then I prob need too so he even gave us his personal phone number when my dog had puppies so I could always reach him even after office hours. He keeps it real which I rather have then someone who sugarcoats things. He makes you and your animals feel important and like family which I believe is more professional then a stiff suit only there to make money. Only vet I will ever use and highly recommend him personally as your vet! read more

My puppy is now 7 month. She got the lime and lepto shot a month ago and for 2 days she had incontinence. When I went back for the booster, I told them what happened and they gave her a shot in the arm and now she is limping from pain. We have taken three dogs to Steinbach Vet and were very sad when we moved away. For a few years after moving, we traveled an hour to continue bringing two of our dogs here. After we had finally transferred to a new vet closer to our home, we still brought our one dog back to Steinbach Vet when it was time to say goodbye. Dr. King and his staff have always been great but they were incredibly compassionate and comforting at that difficult moment. Highly recommend! read more

We just started using Steinbach. We loved our previous vet, but think Steinbach will be just as good. The premises remind me of an old country doctor's operations. It's very cool. On July 24th I took Tank to Steinbach Vet to stay for 2 nights and on the 26th when I picked him up I noticed his paws where red and asked about it the lady who brought him out to me said it was from him licking his paws. The following day i noticed blood on my kitchen floor and realized his balls and feet look like they were burned. Since last week he's been sick and getting sicker every day but the Vet is saying they have nothing to do with anything that's happening to Tank. I'm pretty sure he has Kennel Cough and they are saying he couldn't have gotten it there but that's the ONLY place he's been around other dogs. Horrible place I will never use them again. Here it is Aug 10th and he still healing & not acting like himself. The staff here are rude & act like they don't care. read more

Maybe back in the day they cared about animals but now they are in their words "too busy" to pet and pay attention to dogs that are staying overnight in their care. After going to 2 different vets, we went to Steinbach after a recommendation. They did such a phenomenal job with his neutering. We opted for the laser option and his recovery was minimal. We were so happy to have our pup back to his normal self so quickly. We also had a scare with pneumonia when he was super young which they helped resolve. We love the vets there! read more

Arrogant & unprofessional vet & office manager I called as emergency visit for an extra which I never received. 5 minutes into the visit Clark Whaitegarth as a matter of factly that coco had cancer and 3 weeks to live. Without skipping a beat he asked me if I wanted to put my dog down. I was in shock. He then talked about chemo treatments, I said not an option, then he proceeded to give me directions for 3 different medications and to pick something up at Cvs....this is all in 10 minutes. Then 4 days later he called to say the dog only has an infection. WHAT! What if I would have put my dog down? Then when I called to speak to the office manager, he told me hell look into, Then quickly said basically nothing to talk about, and that I was rude. He then hung up on me and told me I was rude. When I called back he wouldn't come to the phone. My family went through a weekend of distress. My daughter is due in three weeks read more

Took my dog there a few months back as she was sick. She got better in their care and that was good. HOWEVER when we picked her up she was caked in dog poop. I dont know how that is seen as ok by the staff here it was disgusting. Especially since she went for parvo, a disease transmitted by poop so no telling if that spread it to more animals at the vet. read more

My rating for the Steinbach Veterinary Practice would be 'zero' stars if that were possible! Two of the veterinarians I liked at that practice have left, and it now is obvious as to why. The veterinary practices I previously used were excellent; they exhibited compassion, strong customer service, and very professional follow-ups. I recently relocated and was referred to the Steinbach practice. Sadly, they have none of the these qualities. On Steinbach's recommendation I delayed my dog's dental cleaning from December 2020 to February 2021. My dog's health has always been my highest priority. When her gums seemed discolored, a teeth cleaning was suggested but I was told "it could wait for our 20% off deal in February." During the cleaning procedure, without any call to me, 14 of my dog's teeth were removed! When I reacted with horror, the doctor's response was, "Maybe we need to change our policies". If that means they should call the owner before extracting almost all of the animal's teeth, yes, that should be a routine practice. When my dog was brought in for the procedure, Steinbach's office was specifically asked to call me, first by me, prior to the cleaning and then, by my boyfriend when he brought my dog to the practice for the procedure. While I did receive a call, it was in regard to bloodwork and EKG (Not the dental procedure). In spite of many calls to the office, no one returned my requests to know as to why such drastic measures were taken without my permission. Each of the four (4) times I called to speak to the doctor, or talk to Dr. King who heads the practice, my call was rudely terminated. On top of all this, they decided not to honor the 20% discount "due to Covid". The office staff couldn't help me with the information about that falsehood or about why I was overcharged on the invoice. I have since learned about Steinbach's other debacles, one resulting in the death of a beloved pet due to excessive anesthesia, another resulting in the loss of a dog's kidney. My recommendation, if you love your pet, as I love my dog, find another veterinarian! read more

My husband and I brought our cat here last week for the first time. Very kind doctors and the receptions are helpful. The vet we saw (C.G.) was attentive, patient, a great listener, and very sweet with our boy. We didn't feel rushed and I got to ask all of my questions. We were with the vet the entire time. At our old vet, we would be with the tech more than 75% of the time and the vet less than 25%. They gave us a large sample (2 days worth) of Hills dry food. Our cat has been doing well on it so I decided to pick up more. I wanted the smaller 4lb bag but they only had the 8.5lb bag. They ended up giving me the 8.5lb for the price of the 4lb bag. Steinbeck is a wonderful and caring veterinarian practice. The cost is moderate but the care and advice is priceless. They have been able to accommodate us for an appointment for our ill pup on short notice too. It would be nice if they offered care for small animals but their service for pups and kitties is 5+ stars. read more

My wife and I have been taking our dogs here for boarding/ care for close to 15 years now and have never had ANY issues besides maybe our dogs having diarrhea from being stressed due to being in a new environment or some weight loss due to being so excited about being around other dogs (they are usually pretty docile at home but get very excited when they see other dogs). Unfortunately there is a new strain of kennel cough that has hit a plethora of boarding facilities around the area. Therefore make sure you are keeping your dog up-to-date on vaccines and limiting their exposure to other dogs in dog parks, etc. If you must board your dog anywhere and it happens to get kennel cough its literally like a human having a cold. Its not life threatening whatsoever, however, just like a human getting sick it requires a doctor's [Vet] visit. Our babies have had kennel cough before and it took literally 5-7 days for them to return back to their normal self. ****Oh and Also to the person below who is freaking out about their dog having kennel cough, relax, its not serious. We have been taking all of our animals here for the past 9 years...so where do I start. All of the staff are so caring and amazing. The front desk, the techs, not only are they wonderful on the phone, but they are wonderful with my animals. All of the doctors genuinely care about all animals that come through the door. My husband and I had 2 cats and and have 2 dogs. When my cat Phoenix passed away last August 2014, as painful as the whole ordeal was, I knew my kitty was in the best hands. Dr. LuNunziata was the best doc I could of asked for. There was not much we could do for my Phoenix, but Dr. L went above and beyond for her and couldn't have been more grateful. My animals have seen most of the docs there and they all have treated my babies like they were the only animals in the practice. I have never felt rushed no matter how busy they were. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of care you receive. Although the waiting room may be packed at times, it's because they are some of the best vets around. They are well worth the wait and the care you will receive there. If you bring you animals here they are in very good hands! My mother's dog was attacked by her other dog yesterday. With puncture wounds, she was taken to this hospital, where a veterinarian Kelly, sent the dog home only with antibiotics. Kelly claimed that she could not sew her wounds for fear of risk of bacteria. My mother's dog bleed to death last night. That dog was part of our family! Veterinarian Kelly! Isn't that that what antibiotics are for??? Fighting bacteria!! I hope you bare witness to the hurt that you have caused a family! I hope you don't go on as carelessly as this and hurt more families. If you don't care for animals or people, which this situation seems as if you don't, you don't belong in this profession! It was end of shift! I get it! But you should have at least had the dignity to send her somewhere were people cared enough to actually help her! Shame on you! read more

They seem to have gotten much more expensive since I started going, and worst of all, our favorite vet, Dr. Heller, is no longer there! Luckily, we found out where she is, and will now be going to Indian Valley Animal Hospital in Souderton. Another vet that used to be at Steinbach is there, and I think at least one of the front desk people are there too. read more

I started taking my dog to Steinbach for grooming and discovered Katie. She is the absolute best groomer I have ever come across and is so patient, kind and caring with my dog who is very afraid of getting her hair cut. Katie always takes her time talking to me about what I want the haircut to look like and I know she takes great care of my pup while I'm gone. It has been such a stress relief to be able to take my dog, who is very difficult to groom, somewhere that I know I can trust that she is being taken care of. We had a great experience with Steinbach. We adopted a 5 year old dog from a rescue. A couple weeks later, we found a couple blood spots. We realized Kyra was not altered. We contacted the rescue and they advised us to contact Steinbach Veterinary Hospital. They accommodated us and saw Kyra right away. We scheduled an appointment for the spay surgery. On surgery day, the staff was friendly when I dropped Kyra off, and when I picked her up, the doctor was very nice & professional. Taking the time to speak with me post op and answering all my questions. I would definitely use them as my regular vet if they were closer to my home. Took 6 yo 4.5lb Maltese to get teeth cleaned at 8:00 am. No food or water after midnight. I called at 2:00 pm as instructed to see when I could pick him up, but they hadn't even started the cleaning yet. Six hours waiting. They said a surgery took longer than expected. Shame on them.
