Rare occasion we come here. Cause to be honest this is the AMC that has been forgotten. The escalator has been broken or not operating since Like 2019 or longer. The drinks were on point today usually they don't maintain the syrup so you have 100 choices of soda water. Honestly if it weren't for the AMC Rewards we would go to Regal just to be honest. This AMC has reclining seats making it more comfortable to sit through Avatar. We placed an order on the app for pick up and our order was made fresh and ready at the scheduled time. We had a 4-year-old child with us and reserved three recliner seats in Theater 10 for the 9:40 PM showing of Eddington. Instead of a relaxing night, we were harassed and threatened by a volatile patron sitting near our assigned seats--and AMC staff failed at every opportunity to resolve the issue properly. We were aggressively told our seats were "saved" (they weren't), mocked when we tried to de-escalate, and even witnessed the couple actively smoking a weed pen inside the auditorium. When I calmly confronted them later to clear the air, the man escalated to profanity and threats. We immediately notified staff, but instead of removing the disruptive guests, AMC offered us the option to either sit elsewhere and be "monitored" occasionally or leave entirely. The theater failed to: * Verify tickets when the seat conflict was reported * Address drug use * Respond adequately to threats (the security guard looked completely untrained) * Protect a mother and child from targeted harassment I've since filed a formal corporate complaint outlining everything in detail--from the verbal abuse to AMC's lack of protocol and accountability. I will only consider updating this review once the corporate office responds appropriately and confirms that real action has been taken. I had intentionally sat in the back of the auditorium to avoid disturbing anyone. Without any attempt at polite communication, an employee named Grace approached me from behind, grabbed my shoulder and said, 'if you don't put your phone away, we're going to have to ask you to leave.' I want to be clear, I do not believe there was any justification for an employee to physically touch me. A respectful verbal request would have been sufficient. Several minutes later, Grace returned and immediately demanded that I leave the theater. I explained that I believed I had done nothing to warrant removal. Rather than having a respectful conversation or attempting to de-escalate, the situation was escalated further. Eventually, police were called into the theatre during the movie to remove me. Their arrival interrupted the experience for everyone present. I ultimately complied peacefully and left without resisting because I understood that they were responding to the theatre's request. However, I made it clear that my issue was with how I was treated from the beginning. I fully understand that private businesses have policies regarding cell phone use. My complaint is not simply about being asked to put my phone away. It is about the unnecessary physical contact, the aggressive approach, and the rapid escalation to a situation that could have been resolved with basic courtesy and respect. As a paying customer, I expected to be treated with dignity. Instead, I was publicly embarrassed, touched without my consent, and forced to leave. It's no wonder AMC is tanking. Golly, I hate weiring negative reviews but Stan Durwood (founder of AMC) is rolling in his grave. One cashier/ticket taker so they were Al over the place. She was nice but you can't be in two places at once so we all suffered. The concession line was 22 people deep. Three lines that were poorly marked. So long we bypassed the stand altogether. Theatres four has 64 most of which are so close as to be painful. That's because The screen is very high off the floor, so neck pain is guaranteed. Add to this, the house lights came up about 2 hours into Wicked. We had to fetch someone and still it took ten minutes for them to go down.. Totally ruined the event. Over all a bad theatre and a bad experience. The sound was good and at a nice volume. Picture was clear and well lit. Go to Reading Grossmont or the Lot. Far better options. read more

This has became my fav movie theater in the SouthBay. Customer service is good, food pricey yes, food is ok but service & friendliness is good. What I like here is the cleanliness & the seats. Love that the seats are comfortable & they recline. You can bring blankets to get more comfortable, so if on a date this theater is great for getting closer & comfortable reclining back with a blanket & enjoying the movie. You can bring your own snacks & bottle or can drinks they really don't check you or tell you no which is good. Overall a good little Movie Theater that is ran pretty good :) read more

It's not a huge theater, it's simple layout, no long walks to get to your auditorium location, just one hallway, when it's busy, expect messy, expect chaos, expect loud, and longer food lines, there's always staff around at the ticket and food counter, there's a bar, and staff are busy cleaning Likes: premium member, spacious reclining chairs, popcorn, and lots of parking Dislikes: the escalator going up has been inoperable for years (could be lack of funds), this is a safety issue. Out of all AMC theaters in San Diego, I enjoy this location the most. It's close to my place, plenty of parking and comfortable reclining seats. They also sell alcoholic beverages for adults. Only thing I dislike about this location is that only one area to purchase non alcoholic beverages and food. The line can rather be long so come early. Bathrooms are clean for the most part and clean in the theater. Never had a bad experience here. read more

I was so excited to finally go see Top Gun Maverick that I actually drove to the wrong theater initially! Fortunately I left early and made it right on the second run, just like Maverick did when he blew up the target in the test run! OK! No more spoilers!! I noticed first of all that this is a pretty small-sized theater. I think the Plaza Bonita is probably much larger from appearances on my mistaken run, but the size wasn't overly my concern about Chula Vista 10. Another ok feature was the limited size of the lobby, ticket, and concession area. I would say if two popular movies were showing at the same time, people will probably be stepping on each other. Well, I can say I wasn't overly impressed, but the pluses were the screen and the sound. Top Gun Maverick was made for the theater and I am so happy that I did that instead of waiting for the stream version or DVD. But what was concerning was the large hole and and tears in the upholstery in my recliner. When this happens, the seating doesn't get better with age. I wanted to be gracious and give the AMC CV 10 a higher score, but I think the owners need to get some Maverick motivation and make some renovation on the individual theaters, especially the seating recliners. I went to the AMC Chula Vista 10 at 11:05 a.m. today (Sunday, March 9) to buy tickets. Their website says the box office opens at 11:00 a.m. The door was locked but there were 3 employees (1 female and 2 males) inside within 10-15 feet of the door. I waited a few minutes thinking 1 of them would come over and unlock the door very soon. They did not!! I finally tapped on the door and asked what time they open. Although I am absolutely certain they all saw and heard me, they all ignored me!! Such HORRIBLE customer service!! Especially at a time when box office ticket sales are down and some theaters have had to close! SO disappointed at their rude behavior ! I am hopef that someone at the AMC corporate level sees this and looks into the poor customer service displayed by these 3 employees. read more

I grew up here as a child in Chula Vista and always enjoyed the walk to the at the time Chula Vista Mall with my mother and brothers and sisters. It was always a great experience very fun memories going to Sears getting peanut butter cups doing all the shopping that my mom wanted to get done and then walking home. I have since grown up and much older but I still have a very fond love for Chula Vista. I have been going to AMC 10 since I seven years ago and enjoy every time I go. It's a very clean environment. The seats are very satisfying. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the movies are all the new releases that you would want to see I recently went and saw Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and the substance. I was thoroughly happy each time. I left both movies and had a good time even though I was by myself for both movies. I also enjoy going to an early matinee. Use it around 10 o'clock 1030 due to the fact that there's very few people in the theater for sure, it allows you to have a great time watching a movie with maybe 10 people in the entire theater if you're looking for a great place to go with great seats they have all the food you want. They also have an open bar that you can purchase drinks from this is the place for you. I thoroughly enjoy movies and will continue to visit the AMC 10 frequently read more

Went in to watch the new Wonka movie. Staff was nice upon arrival while scanning my pre purchased tickets. But as we go into the line to order some food, the staff seemed a bit irritated, annoyed, and rude. They were not very helpful and after we got our food we left the counter to fill up our drinks. But it seems that the employee had to come over and get us because supposedly the card didn't go through. How am I going to get my food already but they can't even make sure the card goes through yet? Other than that, the movie was great and enjoyable due to the reclining seats. read more

My husband and I normally go to the AMC in La Jolla because of their reclining chairs but the movie we wanted to watch wasn't available, so we decided to come to AMC Chula Vista instead. I hadn't been back since the beginning of the year but I completely forgot that this theatre has reclining seats too! Eeep. So far in two weeks my husband and I have watched Smile and Amsterdam and this AMC has changed to our go to. Why? This is the first AMC I've been to where someone had asked if I wanted to upgrade my account from Insider to Premiere, it's definitely on my mind to change considering the ticket fees would be waived! The seats are so comfortable, they're roomy and fluffy and you can fall asleep in them. The theatre is COLD, any other AMC I've been too I've had to wear "Summer" clothes to, but this theatre makes you want to be all cozied up. He also gave me two complimentary tickets for the inconvenience of having to drive all the way back to Chula Vista AMC 10 to fix the issue. This is the nastiest, unorganized, filthiest movie theater. Never again. The carpet hasn't been cleaned since they opened. The popcorn butter/ condiment area was nasty. Jalapeños and butter spilled all over the counter plus floor. The floor has not been mopped all month, my feet were sticking to the floor, not to mention it was black from all the juice spills. $100 on movie tickets to watch in a dirty theater. Popcorn, soda, icee, jalapeños spilled everywhere. What is the food grade for this location, because this place is filthy. I've been here quite a few times, I personally enjoy coming here anytime I want to see a movie in theaters. The last movie I saw here was "Transformers: Rise Of The Beast" about two weeks ago. I bought tickets online and had no issues with that part. The consessions was okay, (your basic movie theater snacks) i personally was expecting a wider variety of choices when it comes to food but that was not the case. I do however like that you can purchase alcohol! That's always a PLUS in my book. I do see the employees often walk around sweeping dropped snacks and whatnot but one thing I was annoyed about was I had gotten a large popcorn and went to go get butter but the butter dispenser wasn't working, I brought it to the attention of the employees and basically said I was shit out of luck. I then asked for the manager who was actually able to help me and voiced my opinion about his lazy, incompetent employee. But aside from that, I always have an awesome time coming. Things I would change: 1) the menu. As said above, I would add more items to the menu. That's all. Overall I give it a 8.5 if 10. read more

I went on a Friday night and it was not crazy busy at all. We walked in and purchased our tickets in person. They have a perfect little bar where you can order drinks to enjoy during your movie. I ordered the spicy margarita and WOW it was delicious! I will def be ordering this when I go back. I also tried the Henny colada and it was also delicious! However, the chip that came with my nachos were very stale and one of the cheese dips was not warm. The bathroom were also gross with pee all over the toilet seats but I blame that on the nasty people who don't cleanup after themselves not the staff. read more

Oppenheimer was a great movie but I advise you see it In another theater. you would think with their luxury theater, they would have a better projection device with a higher screen resolution. The screen look dark, flared and somewhat washed out. The sound quality is also sub standard with little stereo separation. Sounds like just two front facing speakers. Little annoying watching one dozen movie trailers when the movie is supposed to start. I also ordered a drink and popcorn that was supposed to be brought to my seat and it never came . I had to go up to the concession after the movie and the guy tried to charge me again. I explained that I already paid for the items with The ticket and I was to be brought to my seat.
