I have an autistic son who has been in speech therapy for eight years with Karen, a son who graduated speech therapy with Beth and progressed enough to no longer need an IEP fir his speech delays, and a kiddo who took handwriting camp here over the summer before kindergarten to gain more confidence in their writing. Having been to other providers before finding Heartland, I feel fairly confident in saying that you won't find another therapy office in town that truly cares about each and every child like their own. On a personal note, I was a single mom when we started at Heartland, and there were times Laura (the office manager) was the only adult I had a real conversation with all day, and she never let me leave their office without feeling lighter and more optimistic about the future. The therapist was professional, but the owner is anything but heart (Heartland name should be changed for sure!) & the total opposite of warmth: brisk, unwelcoming, with the constant "we really don't need your business" attitude. I consult other healthcare organizations (much bigger ones) on their customer experience & the atmosphere the owner created here is very poor. We were lucky to find a great place with staff, supervisors and director who really care elsewhere. Because professionalism is needed, but heart is the magic part to this formula. He attend a preschool 1x a week with a few other kiddos and they do a great job hitting a few different lessons per week. I have clear communication with his preschool teachers and his individual therapist. He qualified for services so we have not had any issues with billing or unexpected charges. They provide him with devices in class so we were not required to pay for anything. There is a wonderful indoor outdoor playground we play at on days he has school and even days he doesn't. It is a wonderful facility with teachers who care and provides necessary schooling for kids to thrive.
