Do not rent from America Car Rental. We booked through Expedia and paid $900 for our rental, including insurance through Expedia. When we arrived to pick up the vehicle, they refused to accept the insurance we already paid for and tried charging us an additional $1,500 for their own insurance coverage. At that point, we were basically left with no option because canceling would mean losing the $900 we already paid. This feels extremely misleading and unfair. Customers should be clearly told ahead of time that third-party insurance may not be accepted instead of being pressured into paying outrageous extra fees at pickup. They are a bunch of frauds. They rented my dad a lemon and after a few minutes of driving he noticed it was making a noise and the car smelled. He contacted the agency and advised them of the issue and said they can get him a different car the next day. They inspected the first car as they were returning it and said everything was ok with the return. The following day they said there was damage under the car and were trying to charge him $120 for alleged damage. They falsified his signature after my dad disputed it with the credit card company. Unfortunately he was scammed by this company. Don't bother renting from them. It was a nightmare. Go with Budget instead. read more

Booked through Expedia and it has been the worst experience once you pick up the car they start saying the insurance you get with Expedia they don't accept and want you to get a different liability insurance with them and go up on prices so pretty much your booking and wasting money for something that isn't accurate false advertisement don't book here you can't even get a refund after they tell you to cancel it. read more

There was some kind of mix up, so when we got there to pick up our car, they had given it away. That all got sorted out, and we were very happy with the cars that we got. I just want you to know how bad service and dishonest is this location in Guadalajara. I had the worse experience ever, I rented a car on line and when I showed up to pickup the vehicle you don't even have the car you advertise, I was charged almost 300 dollars more than my original rental, I was given a horrible mini car way too expensive for the type of vehicle, when I went to return it, I had to wait 30 minutes to turn it in, because it was only a young lady receiving and driving customers to the airport, I was concerned because I didn't want to lose my flight I asked the woman at the desk to please receive the vehicle so I can go but she was rude and didn't she any care for my concern. I travel a lot and I never had such a horrible experience like this. read more
