These guys exceeded expectations at every step of the way. My upstairs AC unit was 20+ years old and barely cooling if at all, and would randomly shut off when the condensation pan filled. The first time American Air came out, I wasn't ready to replace the whole unit, so I just asked them to look into the condensation pan issue. The tech quickly got to the root of the problem, told me that the drain pipe had been incorrectly installed so instead of terminating above ground and dripping, it went down into the ground and had nowhere to go from there. He sawed out a chunk of pipe and charged me less than the quoted cost because it was such a quick fix. I had no issues with the unit shutting off after that. When I was as ready as I could be for the expense of a new unit, I got quotes from a couple places. American Air did come in a little higher for the AC unit itself, but they * quoted multiple options * told me exactly which models they were quoting * included a wifi thermostat * didn't push additional services like insulation, and * offered 48 month no interesting financing The only thing I would suggest is that it would have been nice to see SEER2 ratings on the quotes. We scheduled the install for 2 weeks later, and they threw in some loaner window units to cover us until then, which they brought out within a few hours. The installation techs were very professional and courteous. It was a hot morning, and a rainy (but still hot) afternoon, but they set up a tent and kept plugging. Installation was mostly attic work and took pretty much all day, because my old unit had blown oil into the coolant line, which required a 3-step flush. They did gladly accept a fan and the gatorade I offered. Now, my upstairs is nice & cool, and my downstairs is no longer freezing cold from trying to do all the cooling for the whole house. I haven't had time to see how my electric bill changes, but I expect a pretty decent reduction. read more

I cannot say enough great things about this company. Our 15 year old HVAC unit bit the dust right in the middle of the Dog Days of Summer and our area was dealing with days of 95 degrees and 80 percent humidity. It was miserable. We called America Air on the recommendation of several friends and they came out right away. They confirmed what we already knew that our unit was ready for the scrap pile. Due to the heatwave and the severe storms that came with it, they were backed up and couldn't do the install for three weeks. I told them we couldn't stay in our house with temps so high so they sent out a couple techs with used parts they had around the shop and they were able to get our unit running well enough for us to tolerate the conditions. Even though it died 3 times before they could install our new unit, all it took was a phone call and they had their people back out performing CPR to get us cooled off again. With all the trouble we were having they decided to move us up a week and have their guys do the install on a Saturday. They did this without charging us a penny overtime. The price was exactly the same as what we were quoted a few weeks earlier. Come install day of course it was pouring rain and I thought we were going to be out of luck, but they showed up and put up a tent over the work area. The install went great and they had our new unit up and purring like a cat in about 4 hours. I have waited a week before writing the review because I like to see if any issues pop up from the work. Sure enough one did...it was their office calling to ensure that we were happy and following up to see how their techs performed...I'm sorry but service doesn't get any better than that!!! We called on Tuesday around 9:30am and they had someone come out by 1pm. There was some confusion about whether or not our 2 year old AC had a warranty, but they got it situated and the part ordered. They called me Wednesday morning and asked to make an appointment for Friday after lunch, I asked if they could come out sooner because living without AC is tough. They came out Wednesday at noon and had it fixed before my husband got home on his lunch break. He listened to her concerns patiently and even though I could tell he didn't really believe her he checked it anyway. Turned out there was a dead sensor. (My mom has bad eyesight and tends to accidentally turn on the schedule on her thermostat. Or so my dad who won't admit to his bad eyes says! Lol) They fixed it and were more than fair in pricing. They came out to give me a quote on an air conditioning unit. And I was having issues with my water heater. They stated they did those too. In two days after helping me research a good price for a water heater, my water heater was installed.
