Took over 3 years to finally get my building to me. Years 1 and 2 we had trouble with scheduling, they always had a window for installation that didn't give me time to align with them. Year 3 we finally could get a window for installation but I was informed that I needed a permit (which I didn't need before). I went through the county for the permit process and more information was needed. The county wanted detailed plans from the manufacturer. When I reached back to American Carports it was explained to me that I needed to pay for those detailed plans. I ended up just having the material delivered and doing the installation myself. I am an engineer's son, so the installation paperwork they gave me was generic. The only positive was that most of the pieces were pre-cut but no detailed plans to tell me where the pieces went. I also noticed when the material was dropped off that there wasn't enough material to completely enclose my carport. After talking to a rep on the phone it was determined that the dealer didn't order my carport correctly after I explained multiple times that I wanted it enclosed. Now, I'm having to order pieces to fully enclose and costing me extra money I did not plan for. In the ordering process there should have been more done to make sure the order made sense. Why would someone order a roll-up door and exterior door with no siding? American Carports takes no responsibility in the matter and shifts blame to the dealer. Even for the miscommunication/misunderstanding, they did not offer any kind of assistance with extra cost after I explained the situation. This experience has been completely frustrating. If i could give negative stars I would. Would I recommend this company to a friend or family member? NO! read more

worst experience ever! took my order, took my deposit, waited 10.2 weeks, only by threat of cancellation of order they brought up order, all 45 post ends were bent rusty and damaged, door frame not there, hardware, tie downs, instructions, gable ends not on truck either. they made zero attempt to fix order. never called me back, I finally after a few days asked for my deposit, not so much as an apology for anything! read more

In March of 2022 we had a Barn installed by American Carports. We were initially very happy with the install until we needed help from the customer service reps for 3 leaking windows and one door. We contacted American carports about the leaking windows and doors on January 9th 2023. Since we live in a rural area they said they would have someone out in a few weeks. After numerous calls (7 or 8 ) and promises to get someone out to fix the leaks - no one has shown up yet. It is June 1st. 6 months has passed and we still have leaking windows and doors. I cannot recommend this company since they do not stand by their warranty. DO NOT buy a carport or metal building from these guys - especially if you live in a rural area - it will not get repaired. read more

American carports did more damage than good. They gouged our brand new concrete with the forklift and will not pay for it. The trim pieces are only 10 ft and the garage doors are 12x12 and the corners are 14 ft. So they pieced the trim together with the seams at 4 ft right where everyone can see it. Other companies give you 14 ft length trim for the corners and 12 ft for the garage doors. The trim was squished out behind the top piece to make it even more obvious. When the contractors came to put the seams at the top they didn't bring matching screws and told me that they had 14 ft pieces out of Texas and my building came out of California. I called American carports out of Texas and the sales representative told me that they have 14 ft length trim in Texas but not in California is there a new facility. American carports is saying that no they only have 10 ft 6 in pieces anywhere and that it was in all of the drawings online so I should have known that they were going to piece it together. Don't buy from them they do crappy work and damage your stuff the screw that came to fix it did not latch my gate and the wind blew it open and broke our corner post so they can't even do that right they can't even close a gate and leave it how they found it. I wasn't there because they came on Thursday and they were scheduled to be there Saturday with no phone call letting me know the new date. Save yourself the heartache and buy from a different company that will give you full length trim. read more

Buyer beware, thank God no one got killed. Less than 2 years old . As a first time buyer I was not advised on buying the right carport for the elevation. Otherwise I would have gone with a different design or something else. When I told American carports what happened, they said sorry we can't do anything about it, even before they looked at the pictures. And that there was no one higher up to talk too, I was basically out of luck. They didn't even give me any info about taking down the American car. Anyone out there thinking of getting a carport do your research first I wish I did. read more

The installers were very unprofessional and their workmanship is less than desirable. The 2nd repair crew had equal traits. They brought out replacement windows, installed them and then removed and replaced the originals. The "new" windows were in much worse shape, glass falling out of one and neither would open. The installing company hung up on me when I was trying to get the situation resolved, telling me that they`ve done everything they're going to do. Shortly thereafter, I noticed the roof sheet metal is sitting right on top of two very sharp edges where the installing crew failed to trim off before the leg was installed. Again, I called the installing company to address this before they need to warranty out a roof section. It`s only a matter of time before the roof will begin to leak inside the shop. It took me 4 calls to get them to come out and repair it. Each time they would say " we`ll contact you in 2 weeks". They FINALLY came out today to address the issue... 2 months later! read more

American carports were great they came and put up my shop in one day very friendly very clean didn't leave Trash around when they left they were on time and my shop is wonderful just what I wanted these are the people to go to if you need a building put up. read more

From start to finish, the customer services were excellent. We was promised it would take 4-5 weeks from when the order was placed for the delivery and construction to take place. We were contacted within 2 weeks of the contract signing of the expected delivery and set up date. A week later, we received another call and an delivery date was scheduled. The crew showed up on time at 7:00 AM and the foreman, Jose, immediately started setting up the site for the installation of the 30X20 car port. We were installing this on an asphalt parking area. The supervisor advised us that we had a problem with a slope of the driveway; where on side it was 15" lower; which allowed for the rain run off when the parking area was constructed. Rather than setting it up incorrectly, the supervisor improvised and suggested cutting the support columns on one side so the carport would be level. The finished construction looks great and no one would be none the wiser. Overall, we are very satisfied with the price and the quality and workmanship of the structure. We had read a number of reviews on the local competitors and were concerned on the problems other people were having with poor customer service, construction issues and scheduling delays. This company came through with exceptional customer service and a quality product. We doubt that we will be needing another carport in the near term future, but this company will have a high recommendation to anyone based upon their services to us. read more

The quality of the building is great! Unfortunately, the absence of any customer service, greatly affected our experience. As well as the finished product. For the size of the investment, you would think they would at least try to fake some interest. The minute the deposit is paid...BLAM. Nothing. Well to be honest, I did finally receive a call back after probably 20 calls , 7 or 8 emails. This was on month 4 of our 6 to 8 weeks wait. But, I could get over that. They schedule on Thursdays for the following week only. If you miss the call, and try to call back forget it. They will not pick up. You have to wait until Thursday again. This went on for about a month. Install day....guys are nice. There was a few mistakes on the order, no big deal. Garage went up. They asked where I wanted the windows, then put them where they wanted. They did not ask about locking latches, they just put them on the outside. Which for 25k, I would rather not have padlocks hanging off the front, which can be snipped easily. There were quite a few screws missing from the panels in the back, and on the inside on the door in places where there was space for 2 screws, there was only one. Did not mention any of these issues, just finished it ourselves. Because there was a mistake on the order, there was some going back and forth with the office for about a week. Everytime I called, they picked up. Made the final payment. For about a month I have been trying to buy 2 more latches for the inside. No one will pick up the phone again. Thanks Maggie. I ordered my carport from American Carports, I was told 2-4 weeks and they had it installed in under 2 weeks. The install guys came on time, they cleaned up after the install was complete. The whole install took a little over two hours. read more

First day they were supposed to come they didn't bother to show up or call, so I had to call and find out what was going on. The second day they were supposed to show up they called at the time they were supposed to be here and told us it would be another 3 hours till they arrived. If you want a shed, garage or carport i would not use this company. Find one that actually cares about their customers time and money. read more

They only get 2 stars. The Customer service rep for the purchase was excellent, her name is Karen Contreras . There was a hiccup in the install scheduling. I was told between 11 - 1 for the install. They showed up very late in the day with only 1 hour of daylight left before it was dark. No call from them, I called twice and was told they were running late... They worked until 8:30 that evening. I provided lights and I fed them dinner. They returned early AM the next day and finished the install before Noon. They worked well together. The 1st rain we had the carport leaked in 3 places. It's been almost 3 weeks to get on their schedule for an installer to come back and fix the leaks. I tried working with a customer rep named Yordan Alvarez. He's the shits. Won't answer phone, Mailbox is full, out of office and doesn't leave a message after being asked repeatedly. So today 12-16-19, the installers were supposed to be here between 9 - 11 AM. I called at 9 AM to verify I was on their schedule. The lady confirmed yes between 9 - 11. They never showed up in the given time slot. I called at Noon hoping for an update. No answer, asked for a call back with an update. No call, I called again at 1PM. I was told that the installers were running a little late and would be here around 3PM. My time is valuable. Not enough respect for a courtesy call about running late? I have another similar project but will not use them again. Let's hope they can fix the 3 leaks with 1 visit if and when they show up... read more

Our carport came as ordered and the men who put it up were courteous, efficient, and did a good job installing it. It looks good. The customer service reps on the phone were courteous and knowledgeable. It took much longer to arrive than promised, but apparently the holidays were to blame, so they might nornally be better at estimating arrival times. read more

If you just score on the quality build and look of the building I'd give them five stars but originally had to give them a one star as I ordered a 16'x10' building and was delivered a 16'x9' building. I was getting no help from the office I ordered from to fix this problem. Finally a great employee from their Texas office got involved and now I have a great looking building that is actually even a little bigger, I'm thrilled and so thankful that they really do stand behind their product. As a warning though, make sure the frame work they tell you is the same size of the building you ordered. read more
