After I submitted a quote request online, he contacted me almost immediately and came out with a huge variety of samples. Seeing the different shutter styles, sizes, and widths in person was so helpful because what I *thought* I wanted actually changed once he walked me through the options. He really took his time explaining everything, which made the process much less overwhelming. I also appreciated that he gave me a few days to think it over instead of pushing for a quick decision. After comparing everything, I decided to go with Axent -- and I'm so glad I did. The pricing was fair, communication was excellent, and the delivery and installation went smoothly. The install team was fantastic. They worked efficiently, cleaned everything up, and even vacuumed before leaving -- it honestly looked like they had never even been there. Helpful tip: if you're unsure about shutter sizes or styles, ask Chris to walk you through the differences in person with the samples. It makes choosing so much easier. The issue I'm having could be corrected by budget blinds but their unwillingness to make the customer experience better is has fallen short. It's not anyone's fault that the company no longer exists and I'm sure there was something put in place for the thousands of customers with warranties in place to seek assistance when this issue inevitably happened. The consult went well with the owner Gary Martins. An estimate was written up and a few days later I messaged him to let him know we wanted to move forward with the installation. He text back, "[...] I will pull out your invoice today and reach out to you. Thank you for the opportunity." I waited to hear from him but didn't. As time went on I assumed my order was still on track. It wasn't until I realized how long it had been since I agreed to the order that I decided to reach out to Gary again. Well, my order was never placed. He said he didn't see a deposit. I never received any invoice or anything at all stating a deposit was still needed. This order was supposed to take up to 6-8 weeks. I inquired 2 and a half weeks after I placed the order! At this point I'm pretty upset because this was a huge portion of the time frame completely wasted. He asked his employee, Lacey, to apologize and take my deposit. She said he was sorry for the "miscommunication". There was no miscommunication. I have it clear as day in a text message. He should have apologized for his complete lapse in the order and follow up. Not once did I receive a call, text, or email asking if I had any other questions or needed any assistance with the deposit. NOTHING! If I had a client with an order for thousands of dollars I would probably follow up the next day if not at least by the next week. After all this they offered me 5% discount. 5% is what he gives clients who put a sign in their yard after the installation. I explained that that was what any customer would receive so that was not going to make up for their huge mistake. Lacey explained that she was going to inform Gary that I wasn't going to accept the 5% and that I may not hear back until the next day. Here we are 3 days later and he never reached out to try to right his wrong. I have worked in customer service for many years so I know and understand that mistakes are made and I can completely empathize with it, but I also know that business literally depends on customer satisfaction. I wasn't expecting anything unreasonable, just for the company to try to keep my business with a fair offer to compensate for those 2 and a half weeks of missed time on my order. We absolutely loved the vibe she brought with her--she was patient, kind, and understanding. You can tell she genuinely enjoys her job and helping homeowners find the best shutters for their homes. She was also very respectful throughout the entire process. She took her shoes off before entering and carefully moved our belongings aside when taking measurements. She took her time explaining the different types of shutters and all the available options. There really wasn't anything she would say no to. As Lesli put it, "If there's a will, there's a way!" Once we signed the contract, production began. It took a little over six weeks to complete all 17 shutters. We then received a call to schedule the installation. On installation day, John called ahead to let us know he was on his way. Once he arrived, he got straight to work. Best of all, he even came prepared with booties for his shoes! He removed our previous blinds and began bringing the shutters into the house, which honestly seemed to take the most time. Once everything was inside, he installed each shutter surprisingly quickly - about 10 minutes per shutter. The entire installation took around five hours. The only issues we noticed were that some of the shutters don't close all the way or are more difficult to close than others. We also noticed that all of the gears have some scratch marks on them, and we're not sure why. That said, these issues feel pretty minor in the grand scheme of things. Overall, we're very happy with the results, especially the kids! The house isn't nearly as bright anymore, and the shutters have made a noticeable difference in reducing both the heat and outside noise. We would definitely recommend them!

Called to see what the warranty is and they want 20.00 to ship out an item to repair the tension and can watch a video tape of how to repair it or if I have our receipt they would charge me 50.00 to come out and have a person to repair it. Companies these days just want to sell and not back up their products and their warranty is only good for 7 years as I make a lifetime investment on window shutters from this company and all they want to do is charge us more $$$ for their warranty service that should be at No Cost as we spent $$$$ on these shutters. I will Not recommend this company to anyone else that's looking for a company that stands behind their products ... especially when you spend a lot of $$$$ We are very disappointed with P&J and will do business with another company in the future .
