I'm pleased with my experience with American Chimney. They were scheduled to come out today during a ice and snow storm. Very happy they kept the appointment. They actually called to ask if they could come early because the first customer of the day canceled due to the weather. This was fine with me. Dan who came was very nice and made sure he put down a tarp before ever walking on foyer floor which was good since it was a icy wet mess outside. He also put covers over his shoes. He was polite and willing to answer my questions and concerns. He went right to work sending the camera up to check things out like we had ask. He explained everything to me along the way. I was relieved to hear there were no concerns. He said as clean as our chimney was there was no need to sweep. He even touched up a very small spot with mortar just because I was concerned. We are new to the area and just bought an older home. The inspector recommended we get a chimney inspection before we used our fireplace this Winter just to make sure it was safe. I was in an emergency situation. Bricks fell from the chimney on to a walk way entrance. I called American Chimney . The next morning a young man came over. His name was Chris. He told me that they would repair and replace what was needed. We agreed to a contract right away. He said that they are really busy but due to my situation that they would get to me ASAP. I felt that my Guardian Angel sent him to me. In a timely manor here came the workmen. Three workers came and did not waste any time that they were here. They were professional and excellent workers and I would call them top of the line workers. I could not be more pleased with the results and the company and the excellent workers. Our gas fireplace needed cleaning and updating the remote. The first two companies that came simply could not do the work and wanted to charge a significant amount to research the fireplace model number, etc. American Chimney came along, immediately fixed the remote control issue and noted my fireplace model number so they could address the old pilot light. They also made a separate trip to quantify and pinpoint a gas leak at the gas meter, which Washington Gas had pretty much ignored over several calls over several years. These folks know what they are doing, get it done, are very courteous and accommodating, and very reasonably priced. I had no idea I had so many issues around my fireplace. We had them install a new fireplace insert/chimney liner and we call them every summer before woodburning season begins to clean/inspect it for us. The service man Frank that helped us was very professional, polite, and did a great job cleaning up after himself. American Chimney did a great job with our chimney sweep. We just recently bought a house and wanted to get the chimney cleaned out before we made any fires this winter. I had just bought a house and the previous owner said that the gas fireplace may or may not work. I love this company. When we were selling our old home we had another company come out to service our gas fireplace. They told us we would have to replace the whole unit to sell the house.
