DO NOT COME HERE! Me and my friend went here, two young women in our early 20s. We had to ring a doorbell. The man who answered asked us what we were looking for. We said we were looking for Halloween items. He seemed surprised and then told us that this wasn't self serve and to ask for prices for anything we like, even though we "probably won't buy anything anyways". Should've left at that comment to be honest. After looking down the aisles for a while, a different older lady came up and asked if we had been helped. We said yes, and she said "Well I don't leave anyone unattended in my store so what are you looking for?" This was very unnecessarily rude. Are people not allowed to browse? I told her we were looking for mermaid items. She proceeds to show us the mermaid section we had already seen (and didn't enjoy the selection), but we went along with it because it was so AWKWARD. After pretending to browse that section we decided to leave. She proceeds to follow us outside and says that we have big purses that they are allowed to ask to search by law. I mentioned what kind look I was going for, and they found me different pieces that would match. She didn't rush me or make me feel like I was picky when it came to selecting the best pieces. I called at 11:30am and they had me fitted and out the door by 12:30pm. Marty measured me and put me in a classic powder blue tux that fit like a glove. Not only were they kind (and funny), but the selection of costumes they have is incredible. If I lived in Vegas I would never worry about being the best dressed at my annual Halloween party. Cannot recommend this place enough! My husband and I arrived in Las Vegas for our vow renewal and of course on the morning of the event my husband discovered his rented tux didn't fit. We called American Costumes and gave them the specifics of what we were looking for (vintage, powder blue tux) and they were ready with options when we arrived. Marty had my husband suited and styled in no time, and we actually walked out with a much better quality tux than the original ill-fitting suit we'd rented elsewhere. Our photos were excellent. We found out that they have been in business for around 40 years and it's clear that they have painstakingly curated their incredible selection of exquisite costumes. The older lady was following us everywhere we went and had a problem with us looking at "rentals" We go all out for Halloween and theme parties so we were there to spend money. She told us that we were wasting our time looking at the rentals. Why would a business say something like that?!?! We eventually called her out bc we felt so uncomfortable there. We asked her why she's treating us with disrespect if we r there to spend money. Marty at American Costume SAVED me from a difficult situation with my client. A costume I ordered with expedited shipping from another website NEVER CAME IN! The gig was the next day! ARGHHHHH! I called around and asked where can I find a Mascot version costume from???? They said call American Costume. I called and even though they were closed that day, Marty drove down and met me at shop. Costume was in perfect condition and transaction was easy. My client was pleased that I had "Plan B" in place.. little did they know... "Plan B" was all Marty at American Costume! Lots of costumes!
