Mason and his co-worker worked on it, in the heat, replaced the circuit board and figured out what was causing the problem. They did an awesome job of keeping me informed and didn't charge me for the new circuit board but just the service charge. That's what I call customer service. They left their sticker on the door from when they repaired or I would have been lost knowing where to go. Before I bought my house, the door was going through another company when it came to repair and maintainence (I won't mention who and bad mouth another company). I choose to call them again to see what they were willing to do. The tech that came out was in a vehicle that seemed it was from the Roosevelt administration and barley ran. Right away I didn't see any professionalism. He got out and looked like he had been partying hard the night before. Took a look at my door and mentioned he wanted to charge me a service fee for simply taking a look. In the back of my mind I already knew I wasn't going to agree or say yes to anything this company had to offer. He mentioned $500 for the repairs or $1500 for a full replacement. I said "thanks but no thanks" I called American door and they sent out a guy right then and there. He looked at the door and mentioned what could be fixed for a repair and what it would cost to replace everything. Showed up in a new service truck with a professional look to himself and was nice and cordial. Showed me what he would recommend for repairs and a replacement without a salesmen push to it. He treated it as if it was his house. Showed me what the best route was to go and left it alone. Went in the next day to there office and spoke to the gentlemen behind the counter. Told me the same thing the tech told me and was amazing with a professional demeanor. He mentioned to me the same things the tech told me. Showed me good communication. I looked at there materials to see what they had to offer. I choose what I wanted/needed and was treated amazingly. Best part was I got an amazing deal and had everything installed with maybe a day's wait. To make It even better they gave me a veterans discount to make everything affordable. They did the right thing, were professional, quick, and done right. read more

I called for service and they came and replaced sensors- this did not fix the problem. They stated that they'd be back on Monday late afternoon. We waited...they no showed. Not even a courtesy call. I call today and leave 3 messages. No reply. This is no way to run a company. I will never recommend this "company" to anyone. Poor communication and no follow up. They should be ashamed....I'm sure they've an excuse but...everyone's got one. read more

I just purchased a new garage door from American Door after my door had broken and could not be opened. They showed up at the agreed time and gave me an estimate that I thought was fair, and then they were able to fit me in for installation later the same week. They were prompt and professional and completed the installation in less time than they had estimated. The new door looks and works great and is quite a bit quieter than my old door. Buyer Beware!! I bought this garage door opener for my husband. He specifically wanted the MyQ so he can use his IPhone to open and close the door. We are not happy. The technician didn't know how to set up the MyQ and when we called the business, the guy working there didn't know either. The model he sold us was not WiFi included so now we have to buy an additional part to use our phones. My advice--buy from Sears. read more

An order was placed 3 months ago and they keep tell us "we're are to busy" to come out and take measurements.. every time it's another excuse. short notice call to fix a broke garage door tension spring. wow, had never seen or even heard of one of these failing. dan arranged for tech Aaron to stop by for a look see and repair. Aaron was professional, had the right parts and knew all the little secrets of winding a spring. there is actually a lot to know about swapping out a tension spring. who knew... suffice, very pleased and will be calling on aaron again soon to replace a near 20 yr old opener. read more

I backed my truck into my garage door which dented the two lower panels. It was enough damage that the panels needed replacement and the track needed to be bent back into place in order for the garage to open and close properly. I called America Door Co. and they were able to get someone out within a day to get measurements and a quote on the repair/parts. Unfortunately, they didn't have them in stock so I had to wait about two weeks for the door to get fixed. Once the parts arrived I got a call on Monday morning and Dan was able to come out and finish the job without me even being there. I think he finished the work in less than 2 hours. Only wish is that they called one business day before to let me know the part had arrived in order to schedule a time for the repair. The cost was $400 for the service call and two replacement panels. I recommend this company and would use them again in the future. read more

American Door installed my door and less than a year later it malfunctioned not all of the way open and I hit it with the top of my car and put a small dent in the door frame. Their repair man came out and rewound the pulley that had come undone and suggested that I put a strut across the bottom of the door. When I asked if they were going to do that, he was very rude and said that I should have seen that it was not all the way up. When I get close to the garage and am looking at the guide marks on the floor ( I back in ) I can't see if the door is up or not. Their door malfunctioned and they are not responsible because I hit the door?????? Be careful people, the door is a poor product and they are the rudest people I have ever run into. I needed a new garage door and American Door Company gave me a date and time they would install the door. I took half a day off from work and and recruited a friend to help move anything to assist in installation. Then we waited. And waited.....I tried to call the company, but only got their message machine. When someone finally answered, (35 minutes after the scheduled installation time) he said he had been trying to call to tell me my door would not be installed that day. Since my phone was on my person, I pressed him on when he had called. He admitted he didn't have time to call and tell me of the scheduling change. Basically, he admitted lying. A courtesy call would have been professional and courteous. Not lying about trying to call would have been honest. If your time is valuable to you, do not use this company. I called American Door in Redding, CA late yesterday with a non functioning garage door. Today, as promised, Dan Fuentes showed up and fixed the door. Two things were wrong - the carriage was stripped AND the previous repair job had been done with incorrect springs. The incorrect springs resulted in the worm gear and motor lifting way too much weight. New (correct) springs and a new carriage were installed and I was all set. Great service. Thanks, Dan. I called and had to leave a message as no one answered. I received a call the next day. The person on the phone asked me what I thought was wrong with the door. I called this company because I didn't know what was wrong. She then told me it might be the sensors and I should check that and call back if that didn't fix it. I've tried all I know to do and nothing has worked which is why I called the professionals. I will not be calling or using this company. Never was I asked if I would like someone to come out and look at my garage door. Very poor customer service. I wouldn't even give them one star. read more

Bill (the Dad) fixed the connection between my garage door and the door opener that had broken off. At first I worried that I might need a new door, but Bill came up with a fix that only cost the price of a service call. I was able to get him over to my house quickly. He came on time and finished the work promptly, including tightening up the spring.He was very professional and obviously very knowledgeable. My girlfriend had a similar problem with one of her 2 garage doors. Another door company had looked at it and told her she needed a new door. I took some photos of the damage and showed them to Dan (one of the 2 sons) at their office. He came out the same day and installed a strut which fixed the problem. No new door needed! My girlfriend was ecstatic. That door had been broken for a long time...many years! This is my ideal of a local family business....a Dad and 2 sons who are real professionals. They respond quickly and on-time, do a great job at a reasonable price. I wish I had painters, plumbers, electricians, and other craftsmen like them. Life would be so much better. I'd give these people 10 stars if I could. If you have problems like these, have American Door look at your door before you let someone else sell you a new door. read more
