Poor communication could have informed me I have failed sooner since I could've used that money towards bills and needed extra money from the bonus just would've been better but the staff said marketing is strict and there's nothing they can do about it! Not helpful at all when it comes to extra things that benefit the consumer they only care about earning interest off your money.

My daughter text me her banking information in order to make deposit a seamless transaction. But this is where things got strange. I have never ever experienced a request by any bank in my life for a cash deposit of $250.00 dollars in cash. The teller at TD Bank North. Insisted I give my social security number and my drivers license in order to make the deposit. I told her I have never heard of such a request. She explained to me that of I want to make this transaction happen today this is what I have to do. Company policy. I suspect she thought I I was part of some type of criminal enterprise and attempting to have access to my daughter's checking account. Talk about feeling totally mortified and humiliated by this policy and Bank. Introspection , I should have requested to speak to the manager and file a complaint. I have several bank account in the greater western Massachusetts area. I have spoken with different bank representatives and they all concluded they have never heard of such a request. So I sincerely believe I was being profile as a criminal suspect by TD Bank North. I acquiesced to the request made by this bank because my daughter needed access to the cash. They've recently updated their tech too- new atms, mobile check deposits, a new interface on their website. Their fees are fair and the customer service is excellent! The only reason I'm giving them 4 instead of 5 is because their hours aren't great.

Having had more than one account with United Bank for several years now, I had one complaint about…read morethree years ago regarding an ATM card. Now the bank has merged and has become Peoples United Bank. The website is crowded, not a pleasure to look at. Customer service leaves much to be desired. With the C-virus stress many are having, drive-up lines can be quite frustrating for customers and that I understand. What I fail to understand are some of the employees. If you can't do your job with-OUT becoming confused, rude and/or nasty, maybe banking isn't for you. There is NO excuse for poor customer service no matter what is going on. Employees are the faces of the bank and used to be what drew people back in to a bank. Customer service when calling the "Call Center" is hit or miss. You might get something with a brain, OR.... you might get some guy who sounds as though you just woke him up and is nursing a hangover and can not pay attention to anything you're saying!! That happened to me today. First waited for 50 minutes for a call-back and when that happened, I was unlucky enough to get what appeared to be a stoned idiot on the other end of the line!! I explained four times what I needed some clarification on and after I got through telling him the fourth time.....he actually asked me what it was I needed him to check on!!! I then said, "what is wrong with you, I just told you four times!" and with that, he hung up on me. Poorly trained and someone who might be better suited for McDonalds, Wendy's or Burger King! I called back, I am on hold, so far for 54 minutes. To say that "PEOPLES UNITED BANK" is a screw up, has changed just about everything from when it was United Bank, and their Call Center is manned by idiots..............is an understatement. Instead of assisting her they made her return with her mask on. Completely unacceptable. Approached a financier regarding future business with many financial documents as collateral as requested. Instead of welcoming my business was given several ultimatums and directives and instructed to make another appointment for further assistance. I don't play by bank rules and expect to be treated with respect, not a possession. Instead of insulting myself in their presence took my accounts and business to People's bank where I was welcomed with open arms and quick customer service. Instead of rules, restrictions and regulations they should concentrate more on customer service and a creating a pleasant atmosphere.

This wouldve been the perfect opportunity for the manager to tell me about shared branch ATM services such as cash deposits via Fiserv's Accel network. This means that another bank's ATM's can receive my deposit and its credited to my New Valley account as long as I'm using an ATM that's within the Accel network. There was zero mention of this extremely useful function at the time of account opening. I am disappointed as its an ability that actually serves me very well. I figured it out on my own by researching this network that I had previously never heard of. They still get 5 stars but I hope new customers are presented with this info.
