Soooo this is a Saks *OFF* 5th. It is strictly an outlet store that exists based on its discount…read morepricing on labels. Think of it as an upscale Winners - fancier labels, bigger and brighter displays, a more organized store...and none of that weird Winners smell. There are designer brands here but you'll also see a bunch of brands that don't jump out at you. Some of the items are probably the reject items from last seasons line but the store is enormous. If you're patient enough, you can probably find a great deal on something. Most of the items are heavily discounted and the amount of savings is prominently displayed on each of the item's tags. In general, the prices are a little bit higher than what you find at Winner's but the quality of the items is better. I was able to find a cute faux leather jacket for $60 without too much time spent in the store. Mission accomplished!

Nothing like Saks. This store is NOT filled with the things on sale at Saks Fifth Ave. It is filled…read morewith stuff that is literally made for outlet stores, like off, WAY off the rack Lagerfeld in some horrible polyblend that never saw the inside of the real Saks: blech! I saw a few legitimate deals: some real fur scarfs 50% off retail, some decent down parkas on sale before winter (Pajar, Rud), some out of season but real designer sunglasses (Chloe, Valentino, Marc Jacobs, Prada, etc.). But I saw some really low-price brands too: Steve Madden, Ivanka Trump, Matt & Natt, that do not represent any kind of a deal. I almost bought a Missoni scarf but found the whole experience so tacky that I didn't want to buy it and remember I was ever there. If you are looking for real design and quality just pay for parking and shop the sale items at the real Saks at Yonge and Queen.

My sister has now purchased two outfits from House of Kalra, both times we had great experiences…read more It is a family run business in Ajax (much needed, the east end doesn't have as much variety as the west end). The store is set up like a warehouse, but very organized and clothing is categorized by both price and occasion (wedding attire toward the back, part in the center and casual in the front). They sell complete outfits off the rack, lehenga skirts, sari/lehenga tops, dupattas, mens sherwani's, mens vests, kids clothing and can custom make virtually anything! They also usually have a tailor on site who can help with any adjustments required. The family that run the store (husband, wife and daughter) are very helpful and kindly greet and offer assistance as soon as you enter. The husband helped us the first time, and even though my sister can be very specific he was sure to clarify her needs and budget and show us multiple items. The second time we dealt with the wife (Ginni, such a kind lady) and she was awesome! She suggested mixing and matching tops and skirts and dupattas to maximize outfits and wearing...how great! She even went into the change room with my sister helped her dress, and reassured her that she looked great! I appreciate that they will never gauge you for money, they seem to genuinely enjoy what they do! I highly recommend them for all your indian outfit needs!

So we drove there and as I stood outside I called the number on the door and the wife answered and said it's ok come on in. We were happy because it was cold outside, anyway we went in and she helped my daughter find an outfit and help her in the fitting room. Her husband (Sunny) was very helpful to, we bought the outfit and we are very pleased with the service that was provided. We will be going back there to buy some more outfits for a wedding.

I was looking for something to wear at an upcoming event and was headed to the plaza up the street…read morewhen the store sign and outdoor display caught my eye. I'm so glad it did because I had no idea there was this consignment store here for the past 35 years!! It's changed owners over a decade ago but it's still family run and super friendly. Selections are a good range, and most people shopping at the time successfully found goodies. Prices will depend on the brand and quality. Whatever it is, you'll be paying much better than usual marked up retail prices. Just my luck they were hosting an additional sale and I managed to find a few pieces. I will need to get some alterations but I'm super thrilled to have found some great stuff for a good price. The pieces are kept well, good quality, and they have about 3 change rooms available so you can actually try the stuff on. They've got all sorts of clothing from casual to business wear to semi formal and formal. You can find all sorts of styles too. There's a huge section for formal dresses at the back half and I recall she mentioned they have another location that specially has bridal wear. They also have some jewelry and shoes. I definitely look forward to coming back again soon and hope more people discover them so they can stay in business for a long time to come. The staff here are incredibly friendly and so is the owner! They're not pushy about the sale and seem only concerned about making sure you have a great time shopping. Love the vibes! Also, great music playlist! I'll definitely be coming back to find some treasures.

Dynamite is Garage's chic older sister. Since it's a Canadian brand, I'm always happy to check it…read moreout if not only to see what's trending in the fashion world. This summer seems to highlight linen as a material and Dynamite had a lot of items that followed that in a clean and tasteful manner. I feel like a lot of their offerings are focused on a kind of youthful sophistication that is also casual although I did see a few shirts and blouses that seemed like they could be workplace appropriate. I tried on a cropped cami that did not have adjustable straps. The top edge was high enough that it provided the right amount of coverage for a normal bra whereas some places have difficulty with the strap length. The material itself also felt way higher quality than what you might find at Forever 21 or H&M. The cami was double layered so it wasn't just one flimsy piece of material it and was super soft. Dynamite's quality and price wise seems to sit slightly above the aforementioned places (the cami I tried on was $30 and a pair of the linen pants I was interested in were $50) but way under something like J Crew. The tailoring is still sensible and flattering and the material are good without needing extra care and maintenance (ex. dry cleaning). The store has a lot of mannequin displays if you're looking for inspiration. If you need a bit more help, the sales associates are pretty knowledgeable. When I walked in I was greeted right away and asked if I was looking for something in particular. I also saw another associate walk around with a customer pointing out specific dresses. There was a pretty sizable sale section towards the back of the store by the fitting rooms. One of the sales associates came around to me while I was browsing the store with some items and starting a fitted room for me. Your room is labelled with your name so you know where to go. The fitting rooms were pretty spacious with a large mirror for you to check yourself out. There was some signage inside about the ability to order online with the sales associate if your size was out of stock.
