They added the perfect final touch to both bathrooms (one was a light reno and the other a basement finish). They were respectful and quiet while working and spent time explaining best care practices. The cost for both projects was very competitive and they followed up quickly with the bids and work scheduling. They will be my only call for all glass projects!

He told me he worked on $2 million houses pretty much saying my house wasn't worth nothing. For $16,000 and you figure you'll get an ultimate supreme job. But I have gaps in my doors and they don't close right. Then they came out and said we have to replace a skin coming in a month that the contractor damage. They said there was gonna be no Barewood around the doors or bottom and there is. As it sits right now, it's not worth the money for them to come out and put doors in. There's a lot other places can get it done cheaper. I been on and off the phone trying get this done so my security system guy can come over and finish up his job. The company does not take ownership of the damage and incorrectly that they install the doors. And we don't even want to talk about communication you better just hang that up. They would have really good communication with you at first until you sign the papers to purchase the doors and windows but after that, just hang it up, you won't get a call for a long time.

We have noticed a distinct improvement with the quiet inside the home, the screens are nearly invisible so our view is unobstructed, and ease of operation is remarkable. Our house had small single hung, single pane (with screwed on storms), over trimmed, windows. My biggest concern was losing what little light we were getting by installing window replacements. Somehow, the designers or installers, dug out extra window space! Wizards. AND we don't have to look through screens because Pella Windows hide their screens until you open your Pella Windows! The installers were here 4 days and there was never a mess, it was a master class in "clean as you go". They took all the packaging, and old stuff with them. We were left with 16 gleaming windows, 1 new sliding glass door (all with bright new trim), and house paint, landscape, and concrete unworthy of them.

My husband and I have been working to get our basement finished in preparation for our new baby. Since Star Lumber did our upstairs (prior to us moving in) we figured we would use them again for continuity's sake. The quality, look, and feel of everything is high quality. However, working with them has been extremely trying. To start off, if you do a renovation, you have to go to 4 different departments to pick out everything. The departments do not communicate with one another at all and you end up telling everyone the same thing over and over again. This also causes problems with coordinating and facilitating installation. We ordered everything in January, but weren't finished with regular installation things until April. The only reason we got done as fast as we did was my semi-weekly phone call asking them how things were progressing and when we could proceed with installation. They were very unresponsive which felt unprofessional and made it hard to get the ball rolling. Although we asked for phone calls prior to people showing up (ie the 30 minute call ahead before the appointment), we had to ask for those calls many times and even still didn't get any communication. One day the countertop team came to install the countertops (not the day they were scheduled) and we were trying to run home from work and missed them. They did our carpet and doors, but the doors don't fit post carpet, even though they did the measuring of the doors and trim and everything.
