***Delivery Crew Danger*** I have achieved a new level of anger this evening, at the ineffective and lazy delivery men of AFW. On top of them throwing my couches, damaging my walls, being insanely rude to my wife, cursing, intimidating my wife about having to take pieces of our couch up a flight of stairs, and complaining the whole time they were here, I have now discovered that the American Furniture Warehouse delivery men helped me achieve a new level of CUSTOMER DISSATISFACTION, by not even actually assembling the couch! Please tell me what was the purpose of the delivery?! What the actual fudge is the delivery fee for?! I only discovered this after I heard squeaking and grinding as we tried to recline and sit. And when I pulled on the top of the seats they all came apart. I have no idea if there is damage now and I cant begin to express my anger enough. This is the 2nd time AFW has failed massively. I realized as i came here to leave this review they botched our delivery for my daughter's bedroom set 4 & 1/2 years ago. I had forgotten that, and inadvertently i have given them another chance. My wife, a friend, and I visited this store to purchase furniture. My wife and I found a living room set we liked, and our friend found a living room set, bedroom set, and dining room set she wanted to buy. The problem started when our friend was told the living room set she wanted was out of stock for two months. She politely asked if she could purchase the floor model, but the request was denied. She then asked to speak with the manager, who also refused. Instead of trying to work with us or offering any reasonable solution, the manager called the police. My wife and I decided to continue with our purchase and spent over $1,700 on our living room set. Throughout the transaction, the managers stood nearby watching us. After we completed our purchase, the manager escorted us out of the store. If the manager wanted us to leave, she should have told us before we spent our money. We would have walked away and purchased our furniture elsewhere. Calling the police over a customer simply asking to buy a floor model, then accepting our money only to escort us out afterward, was unprofessional and left us feeling disrespected. We will not be returning and cannot recommend this store based on the way we were treated. read more

I am beyond disappointed with my experience at American Furniture Warehouse. Over the past two years, I have spent well over $30,000 furnishing my home, and I returned today fully intending to purchase two bedroom sets, a living room set, a dining room set, and office furniture--a purchase totaling approximately $15,000. I found a sectional that I absolutely loved and needed by August 8, only to be told after the fact that it was out of stock and would not be available for nearly two months. While inventory issues happen, what happened next was completely unacceptable. I asked to speak with a manager, and Janelle immediately approached with an unprofessional attitude. Before attempting to understand the situation or offer any alternatives, she bluntly stated they would not sell the floor model and even said, "I don't want to sell it." As someone who was about to spend another $15,000 with your company, I was shocked. I explained that refusing to sell a floor model for an item that wasn't available for months meant losing a significant sale and creating the same negative experience for future customers. I then requested to speak with the store manager. Another female manager came over with an even worse attitude, refused to provide her name when I asked so I could file a formal complaint, and instead told me, "I want you out of my store." Rather than attempting to de-escalate the situation or provide any level of customer service, she chose to call the police. The police officers who responded even acknowledged that the situation did not warrant their involvement. To make matters worse, management waited until my friends completed their purchase before having them escorted out as well. The entire interaction was embarrassing, unnecessary, and completely avoidable. This experience wasn't about a couch--it was about how a loyal, repeat customer was treated. Inventory challenges happen. Great customer service is measured by how those situations are handled. Instead, I was met with hostility, disrespect, and a complete lack of professionalism from your management team. I am currently waiting for a call from corporate on Monday and sincerely hope they take this matter seriously. As someone who has invested tens of thousands of dollars with AFW and was prepared to spend thousands more, I expected far better. Unless this is addressed appropriately, this will be my last purchase with American Furniture Warehouse, and I cannot recommend doing business with a company that treats loyal customers this way. read more

This place sells standard furniture, but not specifically by style era. I was looking for mid century modern and eclectic boho, however what I found was cream, dark navy, gray and leather couches to match their pearly white walls in their farmhouse or cape cod style home. So pretty much they only have contemporary and traditional style that everyone would have in their home. I noticed one off-velvet burnt orange set that was plush soft, but it wasn't the style I looking for. There was absolutely no yellow, forest green, pink, or bright colored couches. Even the dining room sets were boring and dull. I love a pop of color. I came here because it was recommended by two people who swore that, "this is the most affordable furniture store". That is it, however, they don't have anything that I'm interested in. There wasn't any salespeople lurking me down to help me which was great! A few asked how I was doing, but none assisted me. I am requesting to speak with someone at the corporate level regarding an ongoing issue with a couch we purchased approximately one month ago. Since the purchase, we have experienced numerous problems and have had the couch exchanged five separate times. At this point, we are seeking appropriate compensation for the continued inconvenience. Each time we contact customer service, we are told there is no one higher up available to speak with. As someone who works in sales, I find that very difficult to believe--there is always a next level of escalation. Being offered a $200 credit on a $3,500 purchase, after everything we've dealt with, feels extremely inadequate and frankly quite insulting. In addition to the repeated issues with the product itself, we have had to miss work multiple times to accommodate delivery windows, all while working around your company's schedule. The overall customer service experience has been very disappointing, and we have not been provided with any meaningful resolution or a way to connect with someone who has the authority to help. There's a reason why this store and company has bad reviews and tons of complaints filed against them with the Better Business Bureau!! I ordered sofas and when the driver's delivered the items they were damaged so they took the items back to the store. I then received another set but they were used or floor models which I paid for new furniture not used furniture. One of the delivery driver's was unprofessional and inappropriate with me which was captured on my cameras. I called the store and spoke with Jamie who is rude and was unsympathetic but they did issue a refund. I still needed furniture so I decided to order online and when the furniture arrived it was too big for my space but the driver's didn't even unwrap the couches. I went into the store to pay for the exchange and Patrick told me they would take care of it within 2 days. I then received a call from Addison informing me that if I wanted an exchange or refund I need to bring the items back to the store. He told me this was due to the driver "incident" which wasn't my fault and that I couldn't shop at AFW. Whatever. I will take the items back and get my refund from this unprofessional staff. This review will be on other platforms and complaints have been filed with the BBB and the AG's office. We have several furnished properties, and after having worked with multiple sales associates over the years, I know that Erich is the best he provides excellent, down to earth service. Something that I love about AFW is that a lot of the furniture is delivered assembled or the delivery men will assemble it on site. Last May we purchased new furniture from AFW. Wasn't even upset when part of our order was damaged during the initial transit. Although delayed the item was eventually replaced and delivered. What brings me here is how we were handled when trying to have some cushions replaced under warranty. We are a family with kids and, yes, pets. So if you might have any of the above or plan to actually live on and use your furniture, buyer beware. The warranty has so many exclusions it hardly benefits the customer. When filing our claim I took honest pictures of the damage and the furniture. We have a dog that sheds. With there being hair on the furniture they deemed it abuse and denied replacing the cushions. They specifically denied the claim due to the presence of pet hair, with no evidence to show any damage actually done by an animal, just use by them. So my advice is to you get a lint roller and remove all signs of pet hair or pet ownership prior to submitting your claim. read more

This place is huge! I love that the sales people are not pushy and don't follow you around, also super nice! Five stars go to them! We bought the Ashley signature dining set, a bench, rug and two night stands. We opted to pick it up instead of getting it delivered( 5% of total not bad at all) We were able to pick it up same day since everything was in stock. You check in at the counter by the cafe and they text you when it's ready to be picked up. The folks that helped us load our items were awesome too. The problem I have is the items that we bought. They are significantly different from the floor models. The dining table has holes all over ( the floor model did not) and it was not smooth. It's wood and all but did not except it to be like that. Was really disappointed. Contemplating on returning it but it would be a pain in the you know what to disassemble the table again :( read more

I'm fair in my reviews (I rarely leave a single star), and these folks are just too damn big for their britches. Perhaps it's because this joint is the Taj Mahal of furniture stores, with prime real estate alongside I-45. We were fooled. First, the prices and selection here are fine, though one could find similar selection and deals elsewhere. The problem with this place is the integrity of the employees, management notwithstanding. We bought some furniture here and were told to "drive around the back" and find a parking spot. There were no close parking lots, so we sent our son into the store while we waited on a side drive (not in a fire zone -- and not blocking traffic). Keep in mind that we were not even close to the loading area. And then this happened... "You need to move your car!" the skinny dude with many missing teeth barked at my wife. "I'm not blocking traffic," she responded "and I'm waiting on my son." "You need to move your car!" he shouted. "What's your name?" my wife asked him. "That doesn't matter. Just move your car!" "Well, maybe I'll move my car and go get my money back," she told him. At that point, he told her that he didn't care that she might go cancel her order, so long as she moved her car. -- Remember: she was in the back of the lot, sans traffic. To wrap up our experience here, my wife re-entered the store and spoke with a manager. After explaining her experience with the meth-addict warehouse attendant, he offered a half-hearted apology. She offered to keep the order if the attendant himself apologized for his hateful manner. The manager refused. Order canceled. Here's what people need to know about this place: The sales people wear name tags. The warehouse workers don't. "Well, their name tags would fall off," the manager told my wife. "Not if they were embroidered on their shirts," she responded. Honestly, based on this dude's behavior, he likely goes through jobs like you-know-what through a goose. No need to invest in a $5 embroidery job so that customers who are spending thousands might be able to identify him. And that, in addition to a non-returned phone call to corporate, is why we will never shop here again. It's also why we will tell anyone we know that they can find similar furniture brands at more reputable businesses. I have little doubt that the trashy warehouse worker is back in jail at the time of this writing. I regret to inform that I am no longer a customer of AFW due to a recent unsatisfactory experience with their delivery and installation service. I had ordered online a bunk bed with their platinum delivery service for my short-term rental property on the Bolivar Peninsula in Texas. Having previously used AFW for furniture installations, I was always impressed by their quick, friendly, timely, and efficient service. In the past, AFW has had exemplary customer service. In fact, I have used AFW to install beds and furniture for my short term rental and they did so with excellence. Therefore, when a guest damaged a bunk bed, I naturally turned to AFW for a replacement. Unfortunately, AFW only delivers to the Bolivar Peninsula on Fridays. This rigid delivery schedule meant that my next guest would not have a bunk bed available until their check-out date (a friday). But to me, it was worth the wait as I knew I could rely on AFW to install this bunk bed for my business. Keep in mind, their company policy does not allow them to remove the old bunk bed, so I had to interrupt the current guest's stay and have my maintenance team remove the damaged bunk bed. After placing my order, I called AFW to schedule the delivery. Since the guests would be checking out that day, I requested delivery after 11 am, hoping to be the last stop given their multiple deliveries on the Peninsula. However, customer service declined, stating they could not accommodate specific delivery times. They informed me that I would receive a text the night before with my delivery window. When I received the text, it indicated a delivery window between 8:15 and 10:45 am. I informed both my guests and cleaners, and the guests were agreeable to this arrangement. On the delivery day, my guests checked out early at 7:30 am. I promptly informed my cleaners and attempted to call customer service, but they did not open until 9 am. Unable to reach the delivery driver directly, I had to wait. The delivery truck arrived at 8:45 am, but my cleaners could not be there on time. The driver called, and I explained the situation, granting permission for them to enter the property and install the bunk bed. The drivers declined, citing company policy. They were not allowed to enter unless an adult was present due to liability issues, and would only wait 15 minutes because they had other customers. I requested they return later when the cleaners would arrive, but they declined again, unwilling to accommodate the situation. I was informed that customer service would call, and to call the delivery driver back afterward. When I spoke with customer service, I explained the urgency of having the bunk bed installed for guests checking in that evening. Despite my plea, customer service reiterated that company policy prevented the drivers from entering the property without someone present. I asked if the drivers could return later, but was told, "The drivers cannot enter the property due to liability issues. You knew the delivery time, we informed you and no one is present, and there is nothing that can be done." I acknowledged the situation and hung up. I attempted to call the delivery drivers again, as they were still at the property (I have security cameras to see the property remotely), but received no response. Additionally, AFW charged a $110 fee because no one was available to receive the delivery. This, too, is company policy. This experience was disappointing, as it felt that policy and rules took precedence over customer experience. AFW showed no willingness to be flexible given the circumstances, even to returning customers. I urge those who continue to use AFW to be fully aware of their policies and understand that they will not make any exceptions, no matter the circumstance. At least the AFW drivers were able to make it early to their other deliveries since my product was not installed or delivered. Due to this inflexibility and the resulting disruption to my rental operations, I can no longer recommend AFW and will not be utilizing their services in the future. I do however wish to apologize for my rudeness to the drivers and the customer service representative, as they were only following AFW policy and just doing their jobs. read more

She took the time to look through several pieces with me and even carried around a pillow with the color I wanted and helped me rearrange some of the furniture to find one I liked. We moved our couch over to move toys from under and it damaged our floor, they denied my home damage claim and said that there's no way to determine if it was their product. I have spent over $7000.00 in cash on furniture for my kids and every piece that was delivered was damaged/dirty as well as a few of the pieces that I picked up in store! This is my hard earned money $$$ and when I let the store and customer service know that my things are damaged, I even sent in pictures they will begin yelling at you or telling you that you can't shop at their!!! store any longer as if they are the owners! I have no problem with being told I am not welcome at their store, however the excepted my money long before I saw a piece of Funiture! There is no good reason for telling me I'm not allowed in the store! I have not done anything wrong!! I only took pictures of all the damaged Funiture while it was being pulled off their truck as well as the many parts of my funiture that was missing paint. Their customer service and store manager are all unprofessional and don't care about the customes! I will return back to shopping at Noel, Ashley, and other nicer Funiture stores...
