The location, just southeast of SUNY Stony Brook and Stony Brook University Hospital is a very convenient location. One time, while I was getting gas, a woman came to me and said she could fix a star in my windshield for free. Ok, I'll bite, how free was this? She then asked me for my insurance information, and I asked why. She replied that that is who she bills for services. My response is that, "You said it was for free". She said, "Well, you don't have to pay for anything out of pocket." I thanked her and said no. Why would the gas station allow this misleading company there? I had chosen other local gas stations to use in the future.

The prices are seriously lower than the competitors around. There aren't too many gas pumps, probably around 8 or so, but for some reason I don't think they get much business. It's nice that debit and cash prices are the same price for the gas, and credit card prices are only like .20 cents more per gallon.

I've been going there for years and built a repertoire with…read morethe staff, so they are very friendly and conversational. the deli counter only has select hours of business, so don't expect to get the munchies at 3am and walk in get a nice deli made sandwich. With the new construction they did on the center, the parking lot is now well lit and perfectly paved. The only downside is the fact that police hang out in the parking lot almost every night. which scares away business (yes, you can argue that "if you have nothing to hide you have no reason to hide) but that doesn't change the fact that even perfectly law abiding citizens get hassled by police offers on a regular basis, and that the specter of authority that they exert upon the area is very effective at keeping customers away. I do not want to be driving home from a late night appointment or some other perfectly innocuous activity and stop in there and instantly become a target for law enforcement simply because "only stoners and drunks" would go there after regular business hours. (which HAS happened in the past)

This place is usually a few cents lower than the Exxon down the road at Exit 59, which is a real plus in my opinion When gas is up towards $4 and $5, I want to squeeze every penny out of these guys. And speaking of these guys, they're always really friendly there and have accents. At the pumps are TV sets playing some news stories and showing the latest specials inside the very large food mart. Keeps you interested while you're taking care of business. This place has a great color scheme. It makes it seem action packed and gets me excited to get gas. Seriously, get a load of the pic I put up and tell me you don't want to run there right now and fill up? Then maybe go inside and get some snacks and a 12pack that's on sale? Well, probably not but the colors are cool compared to Exxon or any other gas station. Yay for gas. EDIT: Since my review, the Exxon I mentioned has since become Gulf.
