Plumbing. Can't live without it, but those pipes and connections will drive you nuts…read more I had purchased a fancy European shower panel that required a very specific connection. The one and only way the East Hialeah Home Depot (one of my favorite places on earth) fails is in the plumbing department. It is a total disaster. It looks like they hired a toddler to stock the shelves. Nothing is in the right place, most packaging is open and missing parts, even the manager is unable to organize it or prevent theft. I went to Bond knowing it would be a bit of a pain in the rear, but hopeful that they would have better control of their stock. For most items, you tell the guy at the counter what you want and then he goes to their warehouse and gets it for you. The few items they have on the shelves are labeled well and in the correct place. I went the other day and immediately found one item that I needed on the shelf. I then took a number and proceeded to the counter for assistance with my connectors. I waited. And waited. And waited. An hour later, one of the guys called my number and I explained what I needed. I had the OxBox that showed one side of the connection. I had the instructions from the panel that showed the other side. I told the guy the EXACT item I needed. He got it for me. He rang me up. I paid. 90 minutes later, I left, returned to the job and found that the connections were WRONG! WRONG! Totally WRONG! My frustration level with this project is sky high and even worse, Bond charges a 20% re-stocking fee. When you factor in driving over and waiting in line, it's not worth it to return $13 in parts. They do offer free coffee and popcorn, however, so there's that.

Something I absolutely hate as a consumer is walking into a store and, before I've even taken two…read moresteps inside, someone is already asking if they can help me. While it might seem polite, my experience has taught me that when they bombard you like that, it's either because they're watching you like a thief, or they're desperate for you to leave because it's a holiday, they're closing, or they simply don't want to work. Every time I go to this Ace Store in Brickell, it is a different issue. I went yesterday and the same thing happened. As soon as I walked in, someone asked, "How can I help you?" When I explained what I needed, the employee's expression immediately soured. He looked angry and led me to a line where he called over another person who had no idea what I was talking about. That person called someone else, who then called a third person. That third person was the only one who could somewhat help, but within three minutes, he became visibly annoyed. He wouldn't listen to my explanation, ignored me, and kept looking away. When he finally understood what I needed, he made a bunch of excuses, claiming the store didn't carry it or that the item didn't even exist. In reality, it does exist and they do carry it, but he actually recommended I go to their rival, Home Depot, saying they had more variety. It is shameful that a store like Ace Hardware , which is filled with such a great variety of high-quality merchandise, hires such depressing, disrespectful, and lazy people. To make matters worse, I have to go back and return the part now because the man didn't listen to me and gave me the wrong item. When I went to pay, the cashier was too busy chatting with a coworker to notice me. She just handed me the item and the receipt without even offering a bag. When I said thank you, she didn't even respond; she just kept talking to the other employee,I I stopped at the door and said "thank you" again very loudly. The man she was talking to started laughing, and she finally said, "Oh, thanks, you're welcome, honey," only because she was embarrassed. It is honestly depressing. With so many people needing work, hiring such ridiculous, difficult, and unmotivated people is a huge disappointment. Ace Hardware Brickell literally sucks!
