They also gave me realistic expectations on outcomes. Overall a welcoming atmosphere. I had micro-needling done on my face for large pores, acne scars and wrinkles. After just one treatment I can tell a tremendous difference! Especially a few days out. My face feels softer and smoother. My pores appear smaller and it even helped my dryness. I also noticed that my skincare products seem to work better, including my moisturizer! Now I notice that my make up goes on smoother and my face glows. My skin feels younger and looks it too! After being a client of almost a year and a half, I have quite a bit to say. My first package that I purchased has been great, minus the part that I am heavily tattooed and I wasn't offered any sort of price deduction for the areas that obviously couldn't get lasered because of the tattoos. Let's just say I should have at least gotten half off my Brazilian extended. After seeing some results, I decided to get my legs done, which the technician/manager talked me into getting a WHOLE other package bc it was "a better deal" for me. (my fault on thinking she was actually trying to save me money)! After my FIRST treatment on my legs, she burned me. Bad! This was over a year ago and there are still dark circles all over my legs.. it looked as though an octopus had wrapped around my leg and left suction marks all over. After telling me that she needed pictures and needed to make an incident report, I never heard from the doctor touching base with how my burns were. I took pictures daily and sent them to her. After she was "let go" (way after the incident) the new technician had no idea of anything, there was nothing filed.. I understand that there are "risks" to having laser hair removal, but I Definitely wasnt told anything about having permanent damage!.. another incident, to add to the list, I had an appointment set up, and when I showed up she told me we would have to reschedule because their files were showing I hadn't made a payment in months!! Which I then went to my bank to get a print out of proof, so they wouldnt overcharge me some more. They never have the same staff and you will always be going through the awkward just meeting someone who is about to see you naked feeling when you go. I have been going to the El Paso location for over two years and have had the pleasure of Corinna doing my laser treatments. She loved her job and made the atmosphere at ALMedSpa so pleasant - I really looked forward to my treatments with her. She was always so welcoming, friendly, and personable - I looked forward to coming to this place for many years to have the rest of my body treated. So far, I have done my legs, underarms, and bikini area, but I will no longer bring my business here. This is the second employee that has complained to me about this company and its treatment. I was treated by a former employee who quit because of the ethics and morale of the doctor and corporate employees. She did not go into detail, but basically told me that she could not work for a company that treats its employees like it does. She said that she complained about someone higher up (I don't remember if it was the owner or CEO - it was someone not in the El Paso office) of this company making racist jokes about Mexicans, and they did nothing. I honestly wasn't sure what to make of it and, I'm ashamed to say, that I kept going to my treatments after she left. I honestly wasn't sure if it was the truth or not. This Monday, I went for my bikini treatment after a few months of not going. I asked about Corinna since I was wondering why she wasn't the one treating me - they told me that she quit. I reached out to Corinna, since her and I have become friends over the period of time she has treated me, and she told me a different story. I am the type that is willing to hear from all sides in order to get a clearer or more accurate picture, but I can't help but be very turned off by this company. I regret that I have spent so much money here if this is the way they treat their employees. I even called the corporate office and the lady was very closed and short with me when I asked about Corinna. There is no reason to be this way unless if Corinna did something wrong or was a horrible employee. I don't care if this place has a lot of good reviews from the customers - if employees or former employees are not being treated well, it's not a place that I want to bring my business or to promote to others. read more

I wanted to update my review and clarify. Due to my recent review, when I called to check on my apt, they told me they had seen my review on yelp and decide it was best to cancel my last treatment since I saw no results. .... first off let me be specific I never said is saw "no" results. My exact words were I saw "very little" results and I still feel that is true. That completely confirms to me that my last review was right. This is worst customer service I have ever recieved. A good/successful company would have done anything to make their customers satisfied. Instead this company cancelled my treatment. Im not upset with the business side of it, they gave me 2 years of treatments which is what I paid for. After stating on the first phone call I do not live anywhere close to Amarillo and they offer to give a facial or possibly a retreatment on my hair removal (which didn't work and burned my legs)?! What is so frustrating they knew knew I didn't live in the area and the customer service rep told me she would call back with a possible way to correct the bad experience. Fifteen laser hair removal treatments, the last few at more than maximum power, which actually burned my skin, and I am still shaving, because their treatment does not work. And after 15 treatments, they ask for more money to keep trying to do the job they were not succeeding at in the first place. I am thinking of taking them to small claims court. read more

Don't waste your time or your money. I purchased 2 groupons for my daughter and I. When we went in for our "consultation" on Saturday May 10th, our groupon purchase was clearly not enough for them. It was only very pushy sales to get you to upgrade. They also fail to mention in their groupon that the area covered on the groupon is only a tiny area. They claim you can do several areas, but do not even put in the fine print that it's only the width of two fingers. So if you want to do your armpits, I hope you are a very small person. Otherwise you can UPGRADE and get the whole armpit done. I decided to consider the upgrade for myself, but wanted to look over finances and would make the decision and call Monday morning. Not acceptable to them. I had to set it all up right then, paperwork and all, or I would not get my groupon discount. I reluctantly agreed and gave my debit card info, but was assured that no action would be taken until I called with the ok on Monday. In the meantime, after an hour of sales tactics, we decided on bikini line for my daughter and not to upgrade to anything additional. It was then decided no treatment would be done for her that day because she was too tan. I Feel that should have been brought to our attention at the beginning of the "consultation" but I suppose the focus was on money and not services that were to be done that day. So, after we agreed that I would call Monday to let them know if I decided to upgrade or not, the agreement was that if I chose to go ahead with additional treatments, payment would begin on that Wednesday, for a two year payment plan. I decided against upgrading and called by 9:15 am Monday morning (they open at 9:00) and spoke with Annie. I clearly explained that I decided against the additional treatments and to remove all of my financial information. She was pleasant and agreed. I CLEARLY AND SPECIFICALLY reiterated that I did not want the payment coming out of my account, and she assured me there would be no issues, that she would take care of it. On the morning of May 28th, I received an email from American Laser Med Spa that my first payment was taken out for my services. Shocked, I called Annie at 9:00am to find out why. She remembered me and told me she would take care of it, but to call back Friday and she would make sure it was refunded. I gave it until Monday. She did not take care of it. She said she would submit it to accounting but they wouldn't be there until Wednesday, but to call back on Friday (again) and she would have an answer for me on when it would be refunded. I SPECIFICALLY asked her if there was a way that we could make sure additional payments would not be taken from my account, she "sweetly" told me that she couldn't guarantee that. REALLY? It was an accounting issue at this point, and since she was a technician, she was not responsible for this "part" of it I called back Friday and guess what? No answers. The accounting dept had not gotten back with her. I asked if there was someone I could speak to in the accounting department, and the answer was no. I could relay all messages through her. I tried to be patient and never got ugly or raised my voice, but I was extremely irritated at this point. I gave it one more week. The following Friday, I called only to receive the same news. This time I asked for the corporate office phone number. I was told no. They would not give me any phone numbers or contact information at all. Everything had to go through her. She said she would give my info to appropriate people and have someone call me. This never happened. Big surprise. I ended up calling another branch in another town, simply asked for their corporate info, and after a BREIF rundown of the issue, they pointed me in the right direction. She let me know that Amarillo was where the corporate office was located, I got a name, a phone number, and even the name of the receptionist that would be answering the phone when I called. I immediately called and spoke to the receptionist, she listened to my issue, and said she would relay the message to appropriate person. I never received a return phone call, but within a few days, I received an email directly from higher up stating my refund had been processed. My account was credited last week. I have my own business, and I have to just shake my head at the way this was handled. It's no wonder they have so many negative reviews. Needless to say, I am going to eat the $198 dollars that I spent on the groupons. If this is how the business is run, I sure don't want any of their people putting a laser near my daughter or I. I am using another local Spa here for all of my laser hair removal needs. The service there has been professional, consistent, and they are truly concerned about my needs and wants. I was told I would see full results upto 6 months after my last treatment and it has been 8 and I still have 75 percent of hair. I am light skinned with dark hair and expected better results. From the looks of it, this clinic has come a long way from previous reviews below. I recently came in for a treatment, and I noticed a significant reduction on hair (got my ears treated - I'm getting old). They also explained to me what they were doing and why, so I wouldn't be surprised. Since then, my wife has also started doing treatments and is pleased with the results. The location was dirty, the employees were terribly unprofessional and I had to listen to them discuss their drunken exploits and former coworkers while filling out my paperwork. During my "consultation" the employee kept using foul language. I was able to get my money back from Groupon because I only did the consultation, I did not begin the treatments. I really wish I could give a better review as the staff is extremely nice and the doctor is very knowledgeable. I am not happy with the results as I had 6 face procedures and 3 full body which in which I began to see results early on but as time passed by everything came back. I am ok with that. I wanted to stop though. I didn't want to spend any more money especially after reading more reviews about them and studying on my own. I made a mistake going through with the laser hair removal and I wanted to cancel. Rather than letting me go after the money I have given them without wanting anything back with no results even there were 3 months in which they could not fit me in altogether and the machine was down for maintenance repairs they decided to charge me for the complete procedure at full price which was much more than I had already paid, even with the 3 months I had nothing done. I wish they would reconsider and I can change this review to more stars solely for the very nice employees. I also got the Vella cellulite removal as part of the package but it didn't work either. 2 years of treatments were a waste of my time and money. I purchased and paid over $2,000.00 for services which I didn't receive. In june I requested a refund after being informed from a former patient the needles used for micro needling pkgs are reused again and again. Makes me wonder if the same is done with Botox or Juvedurm. This is disgusting, health hazordous, cross contamination, unethical and shows how cheap and low this spa is willing to go to make a dime off their patients. I have sent forms, sent emails, called clinic, called accounting, and my daughter exchanged text with customer service about my refund. Now it's august and still getting the run around. Customer service responded in a text june 2 weeks after I filed the refund form and said it would be refunded that Friday but nothing. In July same excuses they are working on it , waiting on approval from Dr. Kanase, and Charlie from customer service responds to my daughters phone in a text "Call corporate and talk to accounting. I have done my part. They are doing the best they can and you were moved up before people that have waited much longer." (Sent July 27) still nothing. This so called business is an absolute joke and they gladly collected thousands of dollars from me but now that I no longer want their services that I already paid for, suddenly everyone is incompetent. I am disappointed to see Dr. Kanase's mission for the company and read the core values and is this what you call giving your customers great customer service? The high turn over in staff alone speaks for itself. In the last 3 months, 5 out of 6 location's most loyal managers, techs, even corp staff members on the job for 3 or more yrs have all quit american laser med spa. I've been a client of this location for almost a year and a half for laser hair removal thanks to groupon. I have had a great experience for the most part up until my appointment today. I went in and was surprised to see the manager, Breanna, would be doing my treatment and when she asked about sun exposure I responded honestly as I always do- I haven't been tanning or laying in the sun, I wear sunscreen on my face every day under my makeup. She informed me rather aggressively that I looked too tan so she was going to check my picture, to which I agreed. She came back saying I was too tan and we would need to reschedule for 4 or 8 weeks later. I asked when the picture was from and she said June 2013! I told her a few months ago one of the girls had taken a progress picture for me so she could see the difference- but she claimed she could not see the photo. I asked why all of the sudden this was a problem especially since I hadn't had any problems in the past and hadn't been in the sun in at least 4 weeks- she got very aggressive and derogatory, and I calmly told her I felt she was being too aggressive, which helped momentarily. Eventually it was like I was wasting her time by asking why all this was a problem today. She told me that she follows office policy and I told her if that was the case I was very concerned that none of the other staff had ever had a problem with my skin color that month nor had I ever had a bad reaction. She was extremely rude to me but sent a picture (not actually sure if she did or not) to Dr K to see what he said. He didn't respond during the 5 minutes I sat in the waiting room so she told me to reschedule, I said just a moment and I took a call from my husband, and she walked away in a huff then asked me to leave! I told her no I wanted to reschedule like we discussed, so we did and then she had the gall to ask "Are we done here?". Again I told her no and informed the other client who had walked in that if I were her I would take my business elsewhere because the manager had quite an attitude problem. Before leaving I informed Breanna that I would be writing reviews, she told me not to threaten her, and I said I'm not I'm simply letting you know I'll be writing reviews- and so I have. I do not mind that she was "looking out for my best interest", but I do mind at the manner in which she did. Even after asking her to speak in a different tone, nothing changed. I have called corporate and contacted them on Facebook- I will NOT be returning to this location to finish my treatment. read more

I purchased the laser hair removal package for my legs and Brazilian area. After 6 months, they asked how my progress of hair removal was. I stated that my legs have improved about 25%, but my Brazilian showed minimal progress. They said, due to the delayed appropriate results, they would talk to the doctor to get my treatment strength increased and would call me. I never received a call. The next time I went in, I had a different technician. She did not know about the increased strength, but would call the doctor after this treatment and give me a call. Again, I never received a call. This continued to occur. I'm not sure if the information fell through with the numerous change in technicians or if it was never relayed. I was never informed if they did increase the strength and never noticed a change. At my last appt., I again explained of my poor progress to my Brazilian area. At this point, about 30%. Again, I received the: "We'll talk to the doctor and I would receive a call." They scheduled my next appt. On the day of that appt, I received a call an hour before I'm scheduled to arrive. I'm told that my two year package has expired. I inquired to the poor hair loss progress. I was transferred to a manager, who told me there is no way to correct the problem. But I was invited to pay over $150/session per area for "maintenance treatments". Even though I was far from a maintenance level. I'm not talking about a small area of fuzz. I'm talking about full hair that needs to be shaved daily and in large areas. They said it was a cooperate issue and they had no control. However, the clinic was clean and the technicians were friendly. But, in my opinion, that does not make up for spending $4000 for hair removal where hair is not removed, that is incomplete and unsatisfactory. read more
