    Naked bone-in Chicken Wings
    Joan L.

Heard a lot about their chicken wings, so came in to try! There are many flavors to choose from: teriyaki, sweet chili, Sichuan, buffalo, Cajun, jerk. There was also a note to try Mack sauce either as a wing flavor or dipping sauce. When asking our waitress the difference between the Sichuan and buffalo, she said they were the same sauce, even though there was a , between the two words. I asked her to bring a sample of the Sichuan sauce to see what the kitchen provided and it was different than the buffalo. So decided to order: buffalo, Cajun, jerk, and Mack -- all bone-in and grilled. Received 2 of the 4 orders as expected (buffalo and Cajun). The 3rd set of wings were naked wings, as the kitchen ran out of Mack sauce. We asked for the Sichuan as a sauce to enjoy with these, which was enjoyable. The buffalo and naked wings were really well cooked and very juicy and tender! The 4th order simply weren't ordered. Our waitress said the Cajun and jerk were the same, even though the menu had a , between (indicating 2 separate options). At the end of the meal, I asked her to double check this with the kitchen, like the earlier sauce question. The chef came out to talk to us about the differences and clarified that in fact they ARE two separate dry rub flavor options. Next time, I look forward to ordering the jerk. This experience would have been better had our waitress simply accepted she didn't know the difference between some of the sauces and willingness to check with the kitchen before stating a definitive answer that twice was incorrect.

I've passed this place on highway 5 many times. Decided to give it a try for their Saturday Happy Hour 2-5 $1 off everything. It's a large space, clean and it was busy on a Saturday afternoon. Tons of pull tabs and it was busy all day. I couldn't believe it. They have a really good beer selection especially for a Legion. They also had a really extensive menu with everything from pizzas to burgers and tacos. Everything was reasonably priced. We had the club sandwich and the kids had chicken strips. It was good not great. We had great service the entire day. Not a bad place to stop for a drink. I would love to try their wed night bingo or their Sunday meat raffle! That's why you visit an American Legion!

Good food at reasonable prices. Cuisine is classic American from omelettes to meat loaf and potatoes. Excellent service.

The wide, open staircase connecting the floors allows you to enjoy the plants, the soft lighting, and the historical photographs scattered on the walls. The Garden Room is a lovely cafe/dining area where the city holds banquets. The tiered room opens to a glass wall overlooking a lush garden pathway. The meeting rooms are typical conference-style arrangements, but the murals and old photos in the hallway draw your eye. Several flatscreen monitors display current and upcoming events as well as congratulation notices for various city employees, giving you something to look at if you have to wait a bit. There is plenty of free parking in the adjacent lot, including two electric charging stations. The staff are always friendly and helpful, whether you're renewing your dog license or looking for city ordinance help.
