Roswell Family Care was recommended to me by one of the Emergency Rooms in Roswell, and as it turns out they might be the only immediate med or urgent care facility in town. I called to get an estimate for splinter removal, and the young lady who answered the phone was very pleasant and informative. It would be $95 to see the doctor and not likely anything beyond that just for splinter removal. I was pleased to hear what I consider a reasonable fee for the service to be rendered. When I arrived, the young lady at the window was very nice, with a calm and patient demeanor. Some people are just naturally good with people, and I would place her in that category. After checking in I waited less than ten minutes to be ushered to an exam room for vitals and then just a couple minutes beyond that for the doctor to address the situation with the splinters. Dr. Vela was everything one could hope for in a physician--smart, kind, efficient, super-gentle, and obviously experienced. She knew precisely what to do and had all the splinters removed in a matter of two or three minutes. The staff is awesome, the price was fair, and the medical service was outstanding. Highly recommended!

Even though there were several people inside, they got us in a room within 30 mins. I was amazed at this clinic which is not an urgent care, can see an average of ATLEAST 80 patients before lunch. I think that is an enormous amount of people for one clinic, let alone in 4 hours. Some are angry when they walk in, because they may not see many people... remember, several may be waiting in their cars to be seen.

My blood pressure was as noted and I was told at 37 weeks not to worry about it to go to the hospital that's what it was for not him.

Dr. Driskill, MD (OBGYN) has some of the nicest staff in Hobbs!…read more He was equally friendly, welcoming & professional during my first visit to his clinic, called Women's Care Clinic, on 12/15/2022. While waiting, I was offered a small bottle of water. They use an online portal for reviewing the doctor's & his nurse's notes from your visit. His nurse was awesome! She's one of the best communicators I've ever met in the health care industry. She reminded me that Pap smears for women 40 & older are now recommended every 5 years, but that my insurance would pay for yearly exams. Unbeknownst to me prior to my visit, they had me pee in a cup for a pregnancy test. Even if you know you aren't. Lol. Thus... arrive hydrated & don't use the restroom before you head there. Overall, I was impressed with their clinic's cleanliness. Getting an appointment & finding the facility were the only pitfalls. If you don't already know the area, Dr. Driskill's office is behind the old Lea Regional Hospital (as it was referred to as when I was born there) - even closer to the emergency helipad. Highly recommended.

Not to be rude Dr. Hewitt is a wonderul person, but I think she should have retired years ago. I…read moredon't think she is able to preform her job efficiently and that brings down the level of care that's received. I have a rare case and she has struggled with it from day one. I went through menopause at 15 years old but wasn't aware of it till I was 23 and the damage was done by then. My body is aging so much faster than it should and she hasn't done much to try and stop this from killing me. I'm now 36 with the body of a 70 year old and my brain is now starting to show signs of aging. If you need proper care I advise you seek out another doctor. She is just not able to do her job anymore. I really hope she retires soon.

Number one: if your patient tells you that they have been TRYING to have a baby for over five years…read morebut haven't gotten pregnant there is OBVIOUSLY something else going on. Number two: if you advise that patient to "come back in 6 months if you're not pregnant yet" you might be a lazy doctor. Number three: if your patient actually has CANCER, but you don't order any tests or do anything for them, your might be a bad doctor. All of these things happened to me at this practice. I had to schedule with a different doctor because Doctor Hewitt refused to treat me telling me to come back later because after five years of trying six more months would do the trick. DR RATH diagnosed my cancer and is helping me to have a baby after we deal with that. I wouldn't recommend Dr Hewitt to anyone, unless of course I hated them.

That would be Miranda Young, CFNP who now sees patients at Women's Care Clinic of Lea County. I had a routine checkup on 11/15/2023 that was scheduled only about a week in advance. If you appreciate health care professionals with good bedside manners, you will love Miranda (as she introduced herself). I appreciated her taking the time to answer questions about me being "high risk" due to my age when it comes to a possible future pregnancy. Also while there she ordered me a mammogram. The facility where it will be scheduled me for this Monday. I have always had to wait weeks and sometimes months for an appointment when I lived in California. This place still has some of the nicest staff in Hobbs, NM. They use an online portal for reviewing the nurse practioner's and her nurse's notes from your visit. I love it because I get to review them the same day. Per usual procedure at this OB/GYN, I was required to submit a urine sample to check for pregnancy. Even though I know I wasn't. Lol. I guess there are cases where women can't tell. My advice is to arrive well-hydrated - don't use the restroom before you head there. Overall, I continued to be impressed with their clinic's cleanliness. Sometimes getting an appointment here & finding the facility were the only pitfalls.
