Went by last week to donate at this location for the first time and first I'd like to thank Kayla, she was so sweet and helpful, answered all the questions I had and made sure I was comfortable throughout the whole experience. It was my first time donating power red and she explained the entire process, why it's beneficial and when I'd be able to come back again to donate. My experience was quick and painless AND I left with a free shirt! I'll definitely be coming back for further donations at this location :) !! read more

I heard a lot of bad things about this place but when I went there to get blood taken, they made an appointment and it was very simple. It was nice and clean very quiet and the people were very courteous. I definitely recommend this place and if you wanna get your blood drawn this is the place to do it. Seriously the biggest waste of time all because of lazy staff ! My appointment was at 7pm and confirmed it with them via text, so I get there at 6:40 and right away a girl says come In so I go use the restroom as I'm doing a power red so I don't get the urge to go pee, as I walk back In I see one of the Main nurses talking to the girl who first was going to set me up and she goes sorry but you're late and we can't see you ... she then says you're 15 min late! I then show her my phone where it clearly shows my confirmation that my appointment is at 7! She then says oh yea I'm not sure what that is but you're technically late so we can't do it ... she then tries to book another appointment for another date and as I'm looking around there was nobody there but me and 4 nurses so I ask is there anyway you guys can just set me up! As I took time to do this out of my schedule and she then says we can't because you're late !! I get it she was probably tired/ lazy but it's not like getting a power red donation is my fun for me! Never will I go to this location again! I hate lazy mentality people! If you don't like your job find another job you will enjoy! Especially not one that relies on helping people ! read more

This is my sister's left arm two days after giving blood at this location. The left arm was attended to by a male. Fail. The right arm was a successful draw by a female. All in all, my sister and my dad were there for over an hour and a half. There were only three attending staff members, five stations and no wait. They are nice, but obviously overwhelmed. read more

I have to say that everyone there are very friendly, professional, and have always made me and my husband feel welcome. They sure know how to make the process go as fast, easy, and as comfortable as possible. They're not always the same crew, and it's always a pleasant experience. I absolutely love Red Cross. I go to the one off of Ave. P by the airport ish. Everyone there is amazing. I have O- blood type so they are always bugging me ( In a good way ). I go donate every three months or so. I happen to have the most hidden veins so every time I go they tell me it's a 50/50 chance they will get the vein. And so far every time they try they get it. They are all caring and understanding. I've done it many times and I still get scared. Ever though they have taken blood God known how many times they are still passionate, caring & understanding. read more

I donate blood on a regular basis. Almost always at the minimum amount of time required between donations. This was the first time I have been to this location and it was not a very good experience. My girlfriend was with me but she did not want to donate this time as we had a lot of things to do afterwords. So I signed in for my appointment and sat down next to her inside the room to read the handout. At which point I was told that they want me to read the information in the hallway. I was confused as the place was almost empty. Maybe two other people here. But I went and sat in the hall to read. My girlfriend continued to sit inside to wait for me and was promptly asked to wait in the hallway. I could understand this if they were busy and needed the chairs. But again there were only like 2 other people here. While waiting to be brought back for my blood pressure and questionnaire part of the process one employee asked my blood type and I told her. Then she walked away back to what she was doing. The rest of the process up until starting the donation wasn't bad but once I was setup and they were ready to start drawing blood the nurse inserted the needle and I immediately knew something about it was wrong it felt different from every time I have donated before. But nothing else but the pain and discomfort was going wrong. After I finished they told my girlfriend that she could come in and join me at the snack area(not sure why she couldn't wait for me there all along) she declined the offer to come inside because she was upset at being told she needed to wait in the hallway. But while donating I asked the nurse why we had to do everything in the hallway and my girlfriend had to wait out there and was told it was easier for them to see if people are ready to donate. I can understand this if the place is busy. But they weren't. Fast forward to a couple of hours later when I was home and it was long enough to remove the bandage from my arm. So I took it off to see that I was still bleeding. Not very much. But almost every other donation I have given there is barely a drop of blood on the bandage. This one had a big blood spot and a small trickle of blood still coming out of my arm. I also had a bruise and a visible bump where the needle was and that has never happened to me either. So I wasn't very impressed with this location read more
