They did it quickly and the things that went to storage were treated with care and stacked in a manner that eliminated getting another unit saving me money. These guys are a scam!!! We received a recommendation from a friend who had used them many years…read moreback, and online reviews seemed to confirm they were legit. My guess is that they have resorted to posting fake reviews and paying to have negative reviews removed (yes, that is one way review sites make money). I am sure this one will be removed as well. Their contract and liability are drawn up and managed by a company out of New York City, CAF Moving Claims. My wife and I never saw a contract, we were only asked to sign on their phones upon completion. The original agreement was with my wife, but I signed as she had left. I was told that I needed to sign as quickly as possible to prevent over-charges. If there were a contract to review, I would not have had time to review it. Long in short is that we have over $10,000 in damages due to neglectful packing and loading, including damage to a house we are in the process of selling, which will need to be repaired before close! Their contract absolves them of all damage, offering $200 as a settlement, which is an insult. We will be needing to hire an attorney due to the tremendous amount of damage done. They are crafty. During the move, I was constantly bombarded with questions preventing me from observing the loading of items on the truck. I was asked to check the loading at two points. At one point halfway through, where things looked fine (because damage, poor loading could not be seen), and when completed. This was very tactful, but I did note one thing. When I asked why things had not been tied down, I was told that the customer was to provide tie downs. I told them and showed them the ratcheting straps I had, and they ignored them. This was alarming, but we were on a timetable like everyone moving. At one point, the youngest mover told my mother, who was there for moral support, that he would not be loading the truck this way. I wish she had said something sooner. These guys know what they are doing, and shame on them if they are firefighters. The lead keeps saying, "be careful with that" and "make sure that is padded properly", but everything is a show to make you think they know what they are doing and that your property is safe. When they stop taking things to the truck and spend 30+ minutes in the truck before calling you out to take a look, it is all staged! When my wife contacted Chris about the issues, he responded only with an email telling her to send claim details to another email. She took a day to complete the email. After a few days, she received a response that she needed to file with CAF Moving Claims, a company with which we had no relationship. This took another couple days, but due to the extensive nature of the damage, we felt it necessary to get the claim in early, even though, we are still uncovering damage. We are beside ourselves! Please, do not do business with this company, for your own sake. They are a nightmare!!! To date, Chris has not responded to any of our emails or calls! UPDATE: We have had a legal review. We had signed a contract before service and payed for coverage before services were rendered. Only after paying and signing completion were we provided a new contract that we did not sign absolving them of all liability. This is FRAUD! No honest company would ever engage in such a practice!
