I had a second full set of control arms for my project car. After pressing out the bushings I was ready to get them cleaned and powder coated. These guys have a fair price and decent turn around time. And they came out GREAT! I'll be coming back with some wheels and whatnot later on. read more

I was extremely excited when I finally received a phone call (into the third week after I was promised 5 to 7 working days) that my antique toy car was complete. The horror I experienced when I saw the finished product was indescribable! Left front parking light had been apparently ground off completely. I was given some lame excuse that it was bondo and it just disappeared! I have been restoring these old toys for many years and have never encountered any with a parking light that was not part of the cast aluminum body. These toys are getting extremely difficult to find and when found are quite costly. It is a labor of love restoring these cars and now after paying $210.00 to get it powder coated, and $500.00 to purchase this body shell, it is worthless in its current condition. These guys are great! They were recommended by another stripping company who couldn't do the job I needed done. I had 5 old vent covers from my home that was built in the 30s. The vents had been painted over repeatedly and had chipping and rusting. They were able to strip them and prime them for me for at what I think is a fair if not great price. The turn around time was quick at one week. These guys are exceptional and really great people. I am very impressed with American Stripping Co's work! These guys recently media blasted and powder coated my old steel frame bike. Despite being pretty busy, Reid was very attentive and responsive to my questions. He even gave my dad and me a brief tour of the facility when we came in to pick out the powder color... excellent customer service! They finished the job faster than expected, too... bonus points! Overall, the powder coat was impeccable. The media blasting took care of some surface rust on the frame, and the powder coat was so smooth and glossy. A+ for everything! In preparation for having our patio swing, a 60+ year old family heirloom, reupholstered, we wanted to get the metal framework stripped and powder coated again in a different color. Additionally, there were some small welding needs to be addressed. We made arrangements to have the work done with one of American's competitors, but when they saw the swing's components, said they weren't the company to do the job and sent us to American. We're very happy they did! Brian and his crew did a great job on all aspects of the work; the stripping, welding, and powder coating. They were friendly, easy to work with, and delivered the swing on time, as promised. I had a fantastic experience with the team at American Stripping. I brought a very rough BMW E30 M3 chassis to them for stripping and priming. They were able to do a full stripping for a fair price (in line with what others in the region wanted to charge) and then primed the chassis for an equally reasonable price. They were easy to work with, very friendly, and when I picked up the car they had staff on hand to help forklift the tub on to my trailer. had my 66 coupe stripped and primed, very satisfied. This is regarding the rust repair using the zinc coating. Had a small floor pan with pin holes and rust, and had A/S do the zinc repair on an area aprox 8"X8". The repair and coating is very good, and I've had no bubbling or rust bleed through since the work has been done (about 8 mos ago). Word of warning, DO NOT HAVE the zinc repair done if you plan to weld on the panel, not only are the fumes toxic (yes, I used an air filter mask), the zinc coating won't support a weld and must be removed before you can weld on the panel. Big mistake on my part. If I would have known this I would have never had the repair done and instead would have replaced the panel. Please make this known to your customers. read more

I have used American Stripping Co twice and have had a great experience every time. I had my Austin Healey 3000 fully stripped, and now the fenders off of my 1963 Galaxie. I had seen these guys work at swap meets for a while and it looked great. Then I took a full size truck cab to them for stripping, rust repair, and priming. I was told that the primer would seal the metal. It rusted through over the summer. The rust repair was rough and nowhere near the quality displayed at the swap meets. For the price I would never use this company again. read more

One happy customer. Referred here by another satisfied customer. I took in a wood-burning stove to strip the old paint since the previous owner used the wrong paint (it started to melt), making the unit unuasble without the right paint. I was able to drop off the stove on Saturday morning and pick it up on Friday. They had handled the stove with really great care, and nicely preserved the wooden handles, which was hiding under the paint. Plus, the guys were a big help in loading the fireplace into the truck. I really appreciate that they delivered everything on time, and coordinated everything with my schedule so I could paint the stove immediately afer sandblasting. While the work took more time than initially anticipated because there were more pieces, the owner proposed a satisfactory outcome that I happily accepted, plus I was happy with the quality of work they did. I was verbally quoted a price over the phone from the owner Brian. He had the car in front of him and we agreed on the price being final. He said he needed to fax me a copy of the work order for me to approve it. It came in $200 higher than he quoted me. When I asked him about this, he just replied "Sorry, I forgot the prep charge". I have heard nothing but great things about this company, but I don't agree with doing business like that. I don't think any good business should "over-promise and under-deliver" for any reason. I can't do business like that and am willing to pay more so I don't have to. read more
