The piercer, a white woman with black hair, was unfriendly and came across as snarky and rude from the very beginning. Instead of taking my friend to a private area, she had her lift up her shirt in the lobby. She then had her sit on the couch, looked her up and down, shook her head, and told her she was "too fat" for a belly button piercing and that she didn't have the right anatomy. Whether or not someone is a candidate for a piercing, there is a respectful and professional way to communicate that. The way she spoke to my friend was humiliating and unnecessarily hurtful. My friend already struggles with body image, and hearing those comments from another woman left her feeling embarrassed and ashamed. Watching someone treat another person that way was upsetting. After leaving, we went to another piercing shop, where the piercer evaluated her professionally and completed the piercing without any issues. We were also told that the interaction we experienced at True Art Tattoo was handled in a very unprofessional manner. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend True Art Tattoo. We encountered rudeness, body shaming, and a complete lack of compassion and professionalism. No customer should leave feeling belittled over their body.

The added bonus is that the decor is absolutely adorable, they only pierce ears, and all piercings are completed by an RN! Tina helped us and she was such a sweetheart! My daughter had her ears pierced with the piercing tool and they did it simultaneously, one nurse on each ear to ensure my child's comfort. Next, they gave me my second piercing on each ear lobe. They recommended a needle piercing for me as I had this piercing in the past and they were closed up. Again, this went so smoothly and very comfortably! Another added bonus to Rowan is the jewelry is so cute! They have very affordable options all the way up to entry level luxury. Pricing is a bit on the expensive side once they add up all of the fees, however I feel that the overall value is there. They help you not only get the piercing you want safely, but to make it a memory as well. If you are looking for an ear piercing for yourself or have a child you want to take, I can't recommend Rowan (and Tina) enough!!

The associate did a fantastic job marking my daughter's ears, then had us check the placement. She made sure that my daughter was held down by us so she was still, then did the piercings. The baby did cry, but forgot about it 30 seconds after the second ear!! We got verbal and written care instructions before leaving. The only costs were the earrings ($30-50 for 14k gold) and the cleaning solution ($3). I'd definitely recommend this location for baby ear piercing.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience with Eric at The American Tattoo company. I'd been saving up for a piece that i had conceptualized in my head but didn't exactly know how it would be drawn out - he listened thoughtfully to my ideas and emailed me that same night what he had worked up, and it was PERFECT!! He was very open to the small changes that i suggested, and fit me right in that same weekend. While i was being tattooed, Eric worked professionally and at a good pace - the entire thing was done in 4 hours, color and all. The shop vibe was fun and relaxed; everyone that popped their head in had something funny or positive to say. They even made a Starbucks run and asked what i wanted!! I can't recommend this place (or this artist) highly enough. I've had it for about 4 weeks now and it has healed beautifully. I get so many so many compliments on it and i'm very proud to refer them to this awesome shop full of friendly and talented artists. read more

The front desk staff was so sweet and easily helped me get in on my one off day. I was placed with the super talented Brian Anthony for my tattoo. I went in to get writing on my thighs in Old English font. I showed him my reference photo and within a few minutes he came back with the perfect font, and we were off. He took his time and carefully made sure the writing was even since the writing is split over both of my legs. After a couple of reajuste he sat me down and started. Brian was so nice and he worked super quickly, he made me feel very comfortable and we shared several laughs throughout the process which is always a plus. This was a breakup tattoo for myself and I couldn't be happier with it. I talked with him about my other leg tattoos, because I know I'll be in such good hands and the product will be amazing. Alicia (owner/piercer) is super friendly, professional, a great listener, very accommodating & knowledgeable. She changed out my rook from stainless steel curved barbell (my body doesn't like SS & still slightly swollen after 4mos bc of metal & barbell) to a dainty 8mm hinged hoop & my upper helix (3yrs healed) from push stud flatback to an adorable 6mm hinged hoop with bling. It was pierced wrong at an angle (from another shop); hoops hide the wonkiness. Both pieces are implant grade titanium, which my body accepts & surprisingly, not every shop carry this. She can also order something if there's a piece you like. My stack is looking great; love my new pieces. She doesn't charge for switching out (nor any á la carte service), only for the jewelry ~ something rarely seen anymore. She's willing to help switch out to retainers for my upcoming surgery and back again at no charge (of course, I tip)! Her customer service is above par and I HIGHLY recommend. Greatly appreciate her. Do not hesitate to book! Sweet demeanor if you have a child or are a bit nervous. Just, go!
