Hunter was fantastic. Incredibly patient with my family coming in New Years Eve, all having our first tattoo experience. The consultation was so helpful, then amazing service the same day. He really went above and beyond, and I/we will absolutely refer friends to see him, as well as return to him for future artwork. First time here on a Saturday for a "walk-in", simple peach for bridge application. I was waited on quickly and pleasantly. I was given an estimate of 250.00-300.00, cash In the end it was 300.00. Beautiful job done by Toni M. Very sweet and gentle artist. I love the piece!! Definitely will be back. One star off, only because I over heard talk of payment with credit card to other customers. I thought my tattoo touchup was long overdue (I got the original tattoo 5 or so years ago by another artist), so I gave them a call and came in same day. Got not only a touchup but a revamp and added color as well. Gorgeous work. My artist was Hunter and he is absolutely an amazing person. I felt a little queasy and lightheaded at the beginning and he was so nice and patient about taking a long break and they brought me cold water, tic tacs and even the woman who ran the front desk that day went and got me a candy bar. They also have a cool numbing spray I never experienced at shops in Washington & Illinois that made the rest of it almost painless. I was amazed by how well he cleaned up the lines that bled out pretty bad, and the addition of color makes it look better than the day I got it! Also, free touch ups for life getting work through them! Will be returning for my next tattoo and touchup. read more

I didn't have an appointment but I was lucky that Kirk was available. I told him what I wanted, asked him a quick question (which he answered to my satisfaction) and he then took the time to draw it up and get me ready for my new tat. This is my second tattoo done by this shop (first one was done by Doc who is also an amazing artist) and the pricing and the work are top notch! Like with many things in life - good tattoos are not cheap and cheap tattoos are not good. The tattoo came out wonderfully (see pic) but please keep in mind that I took this picture with my front facing camera on my forearm. Great customer service from beginning to end. Started with a phone call to see if they would take walk-ins, especially important since I was only in town for a few days. The young woman (forgot to get her name) who answered the call was very courteous and said they would do their best to accommodate me. When o arrived, they were able to get me in. I showed the design I wanted drawn up. My piece wasn't very complicated nor large. John was friendly but not overly chatty, stating he prefers not to talk while working which was fine by me! His work was meticulous, and his space was very clean. And the whole shop looked very well taken care of. When I was done, I was told touch ups are free if I every need it. Such a great little tattoo shop, quality work without having to drive to downtown SD! I had a tattoo that I had waited 10 years to get covered-up. I went to many different artists and no one gave me confidence for getting it taken care of. Many artists wanted to enhance the tattoo and discouraged me from getting it covered up., even though I would have rathered a cover up.After much research I spoke with Sarah and she was on board with my vision and did an amazing job at giving me a beautiful tattoo that I want to show off! The shop is professional, clean, comfortable, and they are very safe with their Covid 19 protocols, even while most businesses have laxed up, I appreciate the extra effort. I was not satisfied with my visit to Golden Child today because I believe the experience should…read morehave been handled better. This will be a detailed review of what I observed and experienced. Short version: Better time management is needed with appointments and clients who have placed deposits. There is no reason for clients to be scheduled for specific appointment times if they are then left waiting 30+ minutes past that time to be seen. Also blood around the piercing site should be properly cleaned before allowing the client to leave. Longer version: I made an appointment for my baby's earlobe piercing at 1:30 PM. We arrived at 1:20 PM to check in and were greeted and asked to complete the waiver online. While we were waiting, there were multiple clients in the foyer, it seemed like a busy part of the day but I was relived to have made an appointment for our visit . During this time, another client was visibly upset and speaking with Birdie. That interaction escalated to the point where they moved the conversation outside. Our appointment was with Birdie, we waited patiently while this was handled. However, this interaction extended into our appointment time. Birdie finished the conversation around or shortly after 1:30 PM, at which point she appeared visibly flustered and behind schedule. Another client who had been waiting before us was taken back, and we continued to wait. We were not called back until close to 2:00 PM, approximately 30 minutes past our scheduled appointment time. At that point, our baby was understandably fussy from the extended wait. When we were finally brought back, Birdie explained the process and how she wanted us to hold the baby. However, the entire interaction felt rushed. I understand that infant piercings require efficiency, but that does not justify a rushed appointment process. No piercing should be rushed, regardless of the client's age. Additionally, directly after the piercing, we noticed visible blood left on and around my daughter's earlobe. I will include photos for reference. I thought based on standard infection control practices and the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard, any visible blood should be properly cleaned and the area disinfected before the client leaves. I personally have a good amount of body piercings that were done at reputable piercing shops and have never left without the piercing sight being cleaned and inspected. Final concern: My main concerns are the lack of time management with scheduled appointments, the rushed nature of the procedure, and the inadequate cleaning after the piercing. I believe these are important areas that should be addressed for client safety and overall service quality.

Because I am deploying soon with the military, rescheduling was not an option. I explained this calmly and requested a refund, since the artist failed to show up. Skye initially said she would send it, then completely stopped responding. What frustrates me most is the lack of accountability. A deposit should not be kept when no service is provided and the artist is the one who cancels. Being ignored afterward made the situation even worse. This was handled very poorly, and I can't recommend booking with Skye based on my experience.

Piercing for lobes was $80, I've seen many other places more in the $30-$50 range. That said, I felt super comfortable. The inside was very clean and I was helped quickly with friendly staff. Bradlee did my ears and was excellent at placement and very little pain at all. Healing was quick and noneventful. The jewelry selection is awesome and extensive, but it is all BVLA which is best in class and priced as such. No single stud was rly less than $180, so be prepared to spend at least around $200 for any one earring. Everything felt very sterile and clean, if you're willing to pay a little premium I do think you get that experience.

There was one main person that was just running through everything so quickly that I just couldn't register everything they were saying. I think it would be nice to have a visual price list to look at for our own pace while we make a decision. It felt pressured and rushed. But once we were actually taken care of by Lily and one other person, it didn't feel as overwhelming. Overall aside from the first part of the experience, it was fantastic. Our teen felt comfortable with Lily and it went so smoothly!
