My friends and I came in as walk ins for piercings and Jesse is the best!!! We got a nose, tongue, and nipple piercings and he was so fast we were probably in and out in like 30 ish minutes for all three piercings. He's super professional and good at his job and all of our piercings are healing so well. I got my second lobes pierced and then later downsized at a popular piercing chain a couple months ago, and slept on one of them weird over the weekend causing it to get irritated and more irritated by the limitations of the downsize. To help it heal I wanted to upsize but didn't have time to drive to my original piercer. I gave Maritime a call and they were super friendly and informative on the phone, confirming that they have walk-in availability and the piercer gave me a quote. The shop is well located close to the beach, has a cool overall vibe, and is super clean. Samantha, the piercer, provided quality service by cleaning my irritated piercing site and recommending the ideal upsize. Would definitely recommend coming here for piercings! read more

I recently got my nose pierced for the first time elsewhere. I was downtown and kinda bumped my fresh piercing somehow. When I got into CVS it fell out-AH! I freaked out and thought I could slide the piercing back in like an ear piercing-NOPE lol! I had no clue what to do and thought maybe I could You Tube it, I'm glad I did not. Luckily, we were close to this shop and able to get in right away. I don't recall the ladies name who helped, but she made sure my stud was sterilized and cleaned me up and got it right back in there in no time! The cost was $20. What a relief! I got my right nostril pierced today by Rickie, gave him a run for his money! "Get it as even as possible to my left" and he PERFORMED! I love it! Sam is simply the best! She is incredibly sweet, professional, and impressively fast, which made the whole experience completely easy and stress-free. I got my belly button pierced with her, and I was honestly shocked at how quick and painless it was! I really appreciated how thorough she was in discussing the aftercare to ensure a smooth healing process; she even gave great recommendations for different oils to help. Went in last weekend with some friends to get tattoos together and the experience itself wasn't bad. We all got some sort of music note and the one I chose was simple and just wanted it solid black. The thing that is a bummer is the tattoo quality. I got a tiny tattoo on my finger and now that it's a week later and I can see how it looks healed it's very disappointing. I understand there are shop minimums but to pay $100 plus a tip to have a tattoo that looks the way mine does is a HUGE bummer. Wanted to email the tattoo shop to let them know but couldn't find a way to so this was the route I took. I will definitely have to have it touched up since it looks like I've had it for years and not a week. read more

I don't have any tattoos... Honestly, I'm not super interested in getting a tattoo any time soon. My daughter has been asking to get her ears pierced for a while and we've been holding out on doing it. After a big soccer tournament in the area, we realized that she'll be on break for a bit and may be an opportunity to get her ears pierced. Luckily, one of her teammates wanted to do the same. We called a few places and the initial phone call with Maritime Tattoo was super welcoming and sounded excited to take care of the girls. Several teammates decided they wanted to join for moral support. When we arrived with 6 girls, parents and siblings, the team at Maritime was extremely kind and excited to be part of the experience. The first thing I noticed is this place is absolutely immaculate and sanitary. I've never seen a place THAT clean. The girls ended up getting their piercings by Sam and she was so gentle for the entire process. She measured their ear lobes, marked where she would pierce and had the parents check evenness. Once we were ready, she had my daughter in the chair and pierced the first ear. Sam was so meticulous and gentle that my daughter didn't even feel anything. The piercings were great and healing nicely. If you're looking for a super clean place with a very welcoming vibe, this is the spot! The guy who did my rook ear piercing gave me no information during the whole process, and said nothing about after care or when I could change the piecing. He also put my jewelry in upside down. He told me to clean my piercing with dial soap. Never have I ever had a piercer tell me to use dial soap for cleaning. Of course it got infected. I went to a different shop that I trust and should have gone to in the first place and they said a lot of people come to their shop to fix piercings from maritime. Please do not use dial soap to clean your piercing, I don't know why I listened to him even though I had doubts. read more

Sam, my piercer was super nice and patient with me, as I have a fear of needles. She explained step by step what she was going to do and made the process very smooth and quick! And as far as pain she had a very gentle hand. On a scale from 1 to 10 pain level I would say a 4. Super happy with my new Smiley piercing. First, the pros: great location, very clean shop. Now the cons. I was really disappointed with my Experience here. I wanted a small finger tattoo, which, when given some professional insight, decided against. I then decided on something else small. I felt that because I wasn't spending much money and didn't want anything complicated, I was rushed through. The artist didn't ask any questions, or talk about the design at all. The tattoo is small, but turned out really heavy handed, and I'm investigating having it redone/changed, but won't be returning here. My recommendation is to treat all clients, regardless of their tattoo design, size, or how many they have, like they're important and take your time. As you know, nobody gets just one. As someone who doesn't look the stereotypical 'tattoo type,' this isn't the only shop that has treated me in a dismissive way, like my tattoo isn't 'legit' enough to waste their time on. It's unfortunate that this was the way it happened, I'm a local and had been looking for a local place. Won't be returning, didn't feel welcome and didn't like the outcome. read more

Back again!! My middle didn't take long to ask to get her ears pierced ($45 with earrings) after her sister. Of course we wanted to come back here but unfortunately the piercer we had the first time wasn't there. I will say the guy we had was great! I came in because I got my nipples pierced several months ago and I was worried they were started to reject, but Sam the piercer took great care of me. She told me what I can do to to better my aftercare, she switched the jewelry to something more suitable for me, and was incredibly nice and respectful. Thank you Sam!! I got my first tattoo here a few weeks ago and I had a fantastic experience! I had a great time working with Steven Fruzyna on my tattoo design and throughout the tattooing process. I just got back home from the emergency room due to the HORRIBLE infection I got from the naval piercing I had done at Maritime about a week and a half ago. When they did my piercing they used only a 7 millimeter piece of jewelry when it's normally supposed to be 10 millimeters. I woke up yesterday morning with the top bead literally sinking into my extremely swollen and infected skin. I couldn't sleep due to how badly it hurt. I went to the shop to get a bigger bar but the infection did not go away. The whole entire day yesterday and today there has been pus leaking out of my piercing. The infection got so much worse today and started to spread on my stomach so I decided to go to urgent care. The nurse at urgent care told me that I needed to go to the emergency room so thays exactly what I did. I'm very disappointed because the atmosphere at Maritime is really cool. Please do NOT get your naval piercing done here because this infection that they gave me is so painful. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. To begin with they're not professional as they don't even greet you when you walk in. I walked in and was ignored while I stood there awkwardly at the front desk staring at the two girls on their phones till I was acknowledged. I had my navel pierced there 2 weeks ago and they didn't explain anything during/after the process just did it in 5min and told me to check my email for instructions. Fine, whatever. Well when I get home i realized it was pierced ABOVE my navel not through my navel, I went back and they assured me it was done correctly due to my anatomy so I let it go. Well in the last couple days I've noticed my bar is way too short to compensate for the swelling and the jewels were becoming embedded in the holes as it fit snug to begin with on the day of. Any other piercing I've had done the piercer ALWAYS placed a longer bar to help compensate for the swelling and then had me go in weeks later to have it replaced with a shorter one once the swelling had subsided, well not with Maritime. Today I decided to call a way better piercer listed on the Association Of Professional Piercers website to see if they could replace my bar with a longer one they said yes and I went in to have it replaced only to have them confirm that it WAS done incorrectly and NOT due to my anatomy. They said I have the anatomy for a PROPER navel piercing NOT a floating surface navel which is what they did. Even IF I didn't have the anatomy that should've been explained so I could make the decision of whether or not I wanted to go through with it but they didn't, like I said they didn't explain anything during the process and just went ahead and stuck the needle in. The piercer at the new place removed it and told me to let it heal a minimum of one month before I can have it redone. I feel ripped off and disappointed because when I asked they could have just told me yeah unfortunately it was done incorrectly and offered to remove it and redo it correctly at no charge after it heals but instead they blatantly lied to my face and assured me it was fine. Keep in mind I'm very nice and I was extremely nice when I went in to ask about it while they were rude and blamed my anatomy. Yes, it's cheap and you'll pay $60 but just go to a better place and pay the extra $40 to have it done properly with care and professionalism to avoid rejection, nasty scarring and the headache of trying to heal an improperly done piercing or in my case having to get it removed and then pay AGAIN to have it redone properly. read more

Walked-in for a nose piercing and it was a very fast process. Had me in and out in about 10 minutes. The cost was $55. They don't give you info on how to clean it or taking care of it so definitely ask questions if you have any. But I recommend, they were very friendly. read more

I also brought my son in to have Jesse do his snake bite piercings and Jesse was great yet again! Took my daughter for her sixteenth bday. Jesse was rude from beginning. Doesn't care what you want. no jewelry options. Killed the excitement. this shop charges high prices for garage style experience. he acted as if he was doing me a favor.. your getting paid and if your burned out. GET ANOTHER JOB! I went back ( I was on vacation) to decorate daughters tattoo. Once again met with rudeness. He tossed my pic down and asked what I liked about it.I sat for what felt like an hour listening to this guy Belittling me and my tattoo idea. what he needed to say was I don't know how to do what you want. My fault that I wasn't paying attention, but when I was talking to my husband and breaking down the cost, I realized it didn't make sense that the total was $125 when it should have been around $102. I tried calling them back for over an hour and all I got was a busy tone (they weren't busy) and the chat service online wasn't helpful. Refunds need to be processed at a store, they won't do it over the phone. I'm happy with the piercing. But as far as service goes, it was severely lacking - they weren't very friendly and the fact that the phone seems to not be a "working" number was a bummer.

Christina was very helpful, professional, sweet and we'd highly recommend her.

I never received the design. On the day of the appointment, I showed up. Skye did not. She canceled last minute and asked to reschedule. Because I am deploying soon with the military, rescheduling was not an option. I explained this calmly and requested a refund, since the artist failed to show up. Skye initially said she would send it, then completely stopped responding. What frustrates me most is the lack of accountability. A deposit should not be kept when no service is provided and the artist is the one who cancels. Being ignored afterward made the situation even worse. This was handled very poorly, and I can't recommend booking with Skye based on my experience.
