As I could no longer get an appointment with Dr. Lawson, I've returned to Athens Family Vision and recently had an appointment with Dr. Patel. She is also an excellent optometrist, and responded very well to a couple of my concerns. She is thorough, knowledgeable, and very kind in her manner. HOWEVER, Dr. Kimmich was extremely RUDE and YELLED at me on multiple occasions... for mistakes he had made. I've heard of other women having issues with him, but not men. I believe he has a problem with women specifically. I was very nervous about wearing glasses and was considering contacts. When I asked him about contacts, he proceeded to yell at me that they would damage my vision. He implied that I was vain for not wanting to wear glasses (I was a self conscious 15 year old). He did not only yell at me, but to my mom who asked him to please not yell at me. He gave me the WRONG prescription contacts and they also did not fit my eye shape at all, which caused me a lot of pain. When I came back in because the contacts were causing me so much pain, I was yelled at AGAIN for not wearing the painful, wrong prescription, contacts to my appointment. I understand why I may have needed to wear them, but there was no need to yell -- I was 15 and had no idea I needed to wear them to the appointment. Again, the other staff members are very kind. But he is a sexist pig who should not be a practicing optometrist. After so many awful experiences that left me crying, my mom switched me to the Athens Family Vision Clinic. The staff are so sweet and efficient and amazing. Also, they were way better equipped than him and clearly better doctors -- they gave me contacts that were actually my prescription and even had samples that they gave me day of. So save yourself some time and money and go there instead of to this awful man.

Called on January 13th was hold for 15 minutes. Asked to make an appointment was told the next opening was on March 17th. Wow!
