Schedule a visit with this office for hearing issues steaming from tinnitus and increasing ringing…read morevolume due to the issue which was causing loss of sleep and fatigue. Was advised that doctor would see me and possibly have me perform a hearing test during my appointment. So, I allocated enough time for the appointment. During my visit the doctor evaluated me and then wanted to set me up for a sleep apnea evaluation with a local BayCare facility. I asked him what this had to do with my tinnitus and he didn't really give a sound answer as to why. He indicated that I could have possible complications steaming from a lack of sleep. What!? He then finished his evaluation and I went to the front desk assuming they would direct me to where I would be taking the hearing test. They said they did not have any slots for the test for the remainder of the day and I would need to come back. I asked why because my appointment was set for over 2 weeks. I did not receive a solid answer. I was just advised that there were no further slots avaliable for that day and I would need to return the next day. So, I took off work again to return the very next day. Upon my return the office receptionist indicated that I had to pay again for another office visit with it being a different day. LOL! I informed them that their scheduling problems were not my issue and I should not need to pay for another office visit when it should have been scheduled accordantly on my actual appointment date. The receptionist indicated that they would just submit it to my care provider. I told them that was fine but I wasn't going to pay for another day due to their mis-scheduling. Hearing test was completed and I was advised that the "Doctor" would look over everything and then call me for my next visit. I confirmed what they said because I was unfamiliar with a Doctor calling you for a return visit. With that I ended my visit. Two weeks went by and I had no contact from this office. I called and spoke with the receptionist and explained the situation and I told her I was waiting for the Doctor to call me with results and to schedule an appointment. She tried to schedule me but I told her that I was advised that the Doctor would call me and setup the appointment. So, they said they would notify the Doctor. A couple hour later I received a call from Dr. James Barna. He went over the results with me and I then asked when he needed me to schedule another appointment for a return visit in reference to what he found and to see if anything could be done in reference to ringing from my tinnitus. He then indicated directly that there was really nothing that could be done about the tinnitus. I asked about possible sound therapy, white noise or other sounds I could listen to in order to minimize the ringing from the tinnitus. He said that over time your brain will mask the sound and shut it out. No further suggestions were given and he did not want to schedule another visit to discuss anything further. With that... Of course I will not be returning to this office for any ENT care of any type. They have already shown their lack of professionalism in may ways with not scheduling properly, possibly scheduling the way they did to collect additional fees, and ultimately turning someone away with symptoms causing a lot more problems than just ringing in their ears. I can't see how someone starts a practice to help people and then turns a blind eye as this Doctor has. This is my first time experiencing this type of non-treatment and I just through others would like to know before they visit this office and experience the same lack of service. Thank you
