Another review mentioned the very slippery floors surrounding the pool - they are right. The fireplace in our room didn't work, the windows were indeed gross, and the mirrors clearly hadn't been cleaned. Additionally we had inconsiderate and loud neighbors early in the morning, but that's not the hotels fault. They kept opening and slamming the door for some reason. Overall we had a fine time, the bed and king suite jacuzzi were nice, and we'd come here again if ever needed.

The front desk even came to help with our bags, such a nice gesture! The hotel is so clean! Definitely a well kept up small town, like other reviews said, unassuming hotel. It was quiet, the bed was comfortable, and it was decorated so cute for Christmas. The pool looked nice, but we didn't swim and since we were only a short drive from home, didn't check out the shower so I can't speak for that. Everyone here was friendly, something rare in hotels these days. The breakfast was great, a typical continental breakfast, but again everything was clean. They had syrups to flavor the coffee, and I was impressed with both sugar and sugar free options! The fireplace in the foyer was on, making it a cozy experience, too. Great job, Stuart Iowa!

We were on the second floor and had to carry all of our luggage up as there wasn't an elevator, but it was worth it when we got to our room. It was very cozy and pretty, with lots of little touches. The bathroom had a little note with information as to turn the shower on (very much appreciated since I tend to have a problem figuring some showers out). A little pink rubber hippo sat on the note to draw your attention to it. There was a box on a little table, as you came into the room, that contained complimentary individual serving boxes of dry cereal and some packets of microwavable oatmeal. There was also some granola bars and rice crispy treats. There was a little refrigerator (with juice and milk in it) in the room, a microwave, and a coffee maker. The coffee cups were real cups that were gold rimmed instead of foam. The little touches were nice. The gal that checked us in was very nice and the restaurant that was attached served some good food. Greenfield is fortunate to have this nice hotel, as there really didn't seem to be anything else in town. The beds were comfortable and I slept well. Breakfast was assorted breads to make toast with and juice, and coffee. I think there might have been some sweet rolls too. Nothing too special, but something to have before hitting the road.

The front desk employee was rude. She immediately said, "really? how long have you been checked in for?" Unsure why that mattered we said, "a few hours" in confusion. She then, clearly annoyed, told us she was trying to finish her shift and get her end of shift stuff done...okay, but you're still working...so???? The whole interaction was strange and she was very unfriendly and rude.

The room is equipped with two double beds, the sheets were a little worn, kinda like going to Grandma's house. There is a refrigerator, microwave but no coffee maker. Casey's is right next door and Kum & Go is right across the highway, so there's plenty of coffee, donuts and junk food available. For fifty bucks, it's a cheap sleep if you just want to nap and move on!

You get the idea. But clean and under 50 bucks. I will not stay there again however. The smell alone. Smoke and mold. I should've slept in my car. But it was after midnight and I needed a shower. The very very cheapest thin small old towels , pillows and toiletries. The carpet is disgusting. Look at this picture of the carpet near the bathroom. Now all my clothes even smell like smoke! And the price went up.

Located in the peace and quiet of rural Iowa, rooms are rented our individually , with shared community spaces. We stayed here when no one else had booked, so we had the place to ourselves, but I'm guessing it would also be fine to share with others . It's quite large and has a game space as well as the living/dining areas. Thanks so much!
