Filthy dirty hotel with riches!! After spending ONE night there I woke up with bug bites on my ankles. Sheets were dirty, mold is in fridge & freezer. I found a mouse in the room. Pools never clean & seems like it's always locked. Long story short my friend is in crutches & yes she was sleeping 30mins over check out time. Both the cleaning lady & the son that works there started trippin off her banging on her door telling her to get the fuck out. I booked this place for affordability so I can spend one night with my family before going back home. Once I got to reception, it smelled like someone just smoked and tried to hide the smell, it was a moldy type of smell. Once I was given the key to my room on the second floor my family and I went to get out bags from the car and went inside. Just looking at the outside of the room it was horrible, the doors were scratched and paint looked cheap, the carpet looked dirty like it stayed in the 90's. Once inside the room I turned on the lights and all of a sudden the light started to flicker like an old florescent light from a scary dark movie, the restroom door did not close correctly nor the lock mechanism worked. The tile on the floor was loose like you take a wrong step and you can hurt yourself. The bedding smelled, stained sheets, stained pillows, outed TV technology, cheap branded flat screens with poor quality picture, furniture looked horrible, dirty and poorly maintained. The room had two mini fridges, the original one and the replacement, management never removed the old fridge from the room and the worst thing is that both had spoiled food in there. My family and I did not bother staying the night, we checked out within the hour upon arrival, I requested to get my money back but the hotel staff (front desk) said that we spent the whole night there when clearly on their security cameras it showed that I checked out. They refused to refund me and now out of $110 USD, if you need to stay in Delano I highly recommend to avoid this place there is nothing nothing American to this place and the pictures on their site is misleading, and another thing that I noticed is that their pool was an out door one and it was poorly maintained and the maids looks like they do other things on that hotel than just room service since I saw one coming down the stairs with a missing shoe and straightening her uniform. The price does not make us for the poor quality hotel rooms - dirty, unsanitary rooms with stained carpets, sheets and shower curtain; missing wall sockets and broken shower drain in need of sore maintenance. This was the worst hotel experience I've ever had, quite honestly. The negatives outweighed the positives big-time. The chain lock on the door was missing. The room smelled like a mixture of stale sewer and nursing home. There was mismatched paint blotches on the walls covering up graffiti or whatnot. There were also smudge and dirt marks on the walls. The carpeting was ripped and stained. Neither the refrigerator or microwave worked properly. The furniture and fixtures were very worn. The toilet paper may as well have been sandpaper. There was a splatter stain on the headboard of the bed. I don't even want to begin to guess what it was. Had to sleep at the foot of the bed with towels covering the pillows all night. I was half-expecting Norman Bates to show up while I was showering. I will never stay here again. Can't believe I paid what I did for this dump. The worst part is the dishonesty of the management. Upon reading reviews after my stay, I found most guests had the same thing to say. The response to these reviews by management promised that the quality has changed, but it hasn't. One review similar to mine was submitted in 2008. Six years later, I can tell you management was lying about improvements having been made. Stayed here 2 times and it was ok. Went to check on last night and I had a reservation through hotels.com They did not have my room and only had a one bed room I asked the man to give me a second so I could go talk to my husband. I came back in and said we would just stay cause we where tired, then he says I already voided your stay. Mind you I had a deal through hotels.com and when he told me the price and this was only a one bed which should be cheaper he wanted to charge me 30 more dollars a night. I would never stay here again do to the principle of not giving a shit about your customers . they know on the weekends this area is in high demand for hotels and they took advantage of that and that is just poor business, plus it smells of Indian food strongly and weed smoke on every floor and no elevators which I did not have to give any stars read more

Dirty room. Lady was nice when we checked in. But the morning when I told the next person the room was filthy he had no concern, my dog got gum from the floor in her hair. I had to cut the gum out. The tv didn't work and there was a lot going on i the parking lot. The bed are I comfortable. Just a little nasty place I won't visit again. Worst place I've ever stayed in, in my entire life. Immediately upon walking in I noticed the floors were filthy with what appeared to be foliage and some kind of white bits like paper or styrofoam- how hard is it to sweep the floors? I found a small metal screw directly in front of the bathroom, something my one year-old could have easily picked up and choked on. Going deeper into the room was a horrific smell of mold and urine. The pillows had some kind of black substance smeared on them- thankfully we brought our own! Who knows if the sheets were clean.. The microwave was missing a nob, making it inoperable. The room was hot, and the wall air conditioner was basically a fan that spewed out more hot mold and urine-smelling air. This place was so bad my normally sleepy husband woke up early so we could get out of there! So gross! And definitely NOT worth a dime, much less the 70 we had to spend! For the price, well maybe it was ok but how much $ does it cost to have better customer service? The room was ok. Could have been maintained better. Things can be maintained and not cost a ton to keep things working. Bathroom door handle was loose and coming off the door. Wouldn't take much to fix that. Friendliness was not important. Breakfast was skimpy but what could be improved on is easy. Milk was in a bowl with no ice. Ice bucket sitting in ice machine and front desk person no where to be seen. I put ice in the bowl myself. Towel to wipe up spilling water on the floor was messy. No one in site to keep the breakfast area Clean. We slept, ate a meaningless and forgetful small continental breakfast of toast and super super small mini muffins. At checkout - we need a receipt for tax purposes - we waited at desk for anyone to notice us. No bell to ring. Waited and finally a woman came smiled and gave us a receipt and wished us a good day. I don't think we'll stay there again. Unless we are desperate. If you need a room to sleep in, that's what they deliver, with poor customer service. read more

I was comfortable staying here for a good number of times until the most recent. My fiance and i over slept and woke up at 11. We started getting ready to checkout when we received a rude phone call from front desk demanding we checkout right away and reminding us that late check-out costs $10. We said fine, we'll pay the $10. Two minutes later, another employee comes pounding on the door telling us to checkout. We said sure, were just getting ready to go. Still gathering our stuff, 10 minutes before noon, the owner comes pounding with a fury. And yelling at us to get out. We left when we were ready a minute later. Run down and horrible hotel! Prior to making reservations, I called to make sure the pool would be operational and I was told it would be. Upon checking in we are told that the pool is not available as it is being renovated ---- complete disappointment for the kids! The breakfast was a few danish in a box and a gallon of milk for everyone to share. There were 2 rooms on my reservation and my cousin also book a room, the TV did not work in his room and the doorknob on the bathroom door did not work. Certainly not worth $90 a night, should have spent the extra $20 to stay across the street at the Holiday Inn Express. I stayed one night just to sleep and it was 66 dollars but however it ended up charging me 140 the next day and I called them back asked for a reason, they said because the tv was broken, or looking like someone punched it! The fire alarm was ripped from the ceiling and was totally inoperative. Wires were dangling in the air. This is a fire safety issue in a dangerously dry drought area. The TV didn't work nor did the phone or hair dryer. The ice machine on our floor didn't work. When asking the front desk help about the 1st floor ice machine that was unplugged, they said they could turn it on but it would take hours to make ice. The front desk 'help' was unhelpful & unfriendly. They did not want to break a dollar bill to exchange for quarters to do laundry there. The continental breakfast was the lowest level and the least appealing we've ever seen. I reported these issues to the Inn weeks later and they did credit us for the nights stay there, which was the only salvation. I contacted the corporate office. They responded that they would pass on my complaints to the innkeeper, saying the Inn has 10 business days to respond, but have had no follow up response from corporate after more than 10 business days. If I could rate this inn less than zero stars I'd rate them -5 stars. And my review is BETTER than numerous others I've seen on this place. How can this particular Inn or the corporate company remain in business?!!! Stay very clear of this place. read more

Do yourself a favor and spend the extra $30 to stay at the Holiday Inn across the Street. This place needs to be on Hotel Hell. When I first arrived, the lady was in the back office and looked so annoyed that she had to get up. She asked me for my reservation and wouldn't look it up on the computer then immediately demanded my Credit card. After I paid she gave me the key card and tried to slip it into a card slip that was made there with paper and tape and had been used twice before cause the previous room numbers had to one-lined with a pen mark. When I got to the room, the carpet was stained and dirty. There was what looked like mice feces in the corner under the sink area. There were only two towels, both of which were old and stained. One towel has a large paint stain on it. The shower is the worst. The shower head bulges out of the wall and it is old so water sprays everywhere and the water pressure is extremely low. The phone and alarm clock look like they were purchased in the 1070s. The bed frame makes so much noise and the bedding is old and worn. And forget about using the wall AC unit. It made so much noise I couldn't sleep with it on. There is nothing positive that I can say about this place. It is cheap and you get what you pay for. read more

Stayed here this pass weekend we booked our room at hotel.com and it says pay at the hotel. As we arrive and checked in the guy asked can I see your ID so then I ask does it has to be the person who booked it(wifey) book it so I gave him both our ID and he said it doesn't matter and he took mine, So as the weekend ended and came back home wifey check her bank they charge us another fee. I called and ask why we were charge again and he said you used a different ID when you checked in. I told him sir I ask twice if they needed my wife's ID and he said no it doesn't matter( note the person who I was talking on the phone is the person who checked me in cuz I remember that voice) he ask who checked you in? Was he wearing glasses I said it's probably you cuz your voice is familiar and he said no it's not me. Ok sir will call you tomorrow see where the confusion was lol there was no confusion it was them that made a mistake(note I gave both of our ID to them) damn I'll come down to Delano again just to get those money back. read more

I don't mind so much the hotel being old and needing a few fix ups.... But the costumer service was horrible... We checked in around 2pm on a Friday the lady on the front wast welcoming at all, she looked miserable being here and she was just tired and not very helpful... When getting into the room I called the front to ask for more pillows cuss I just have to have a few extra pillows to sleep well. She said she couldn't get up here to deliver the pillows, I said I'd come and get them. She said she would call when the pillows were ready... NEVER CALLED.... Later at night after getting back from dinner I asked a different lady at the front for extra pillows... She said she would have too see what she can do to get me more pillows... Again she never called... I went downstairs after 40 minutes to remind about the pillows and she was sitting at her desk watching a movie.... There Customer service is TERRIBLE. Especially the manager(if only I could post the video) this place doesn't have ANYTHING that they offer. They have phones & TVs in the rooms that doesn't work, after walking all the way down stairs after no answer at the front desk, there was nobody there, when they finally arrived & assisted me, I asked for towels & they informed me that they didn't have any, the washing machine had just broke. They claim to offer free WiFi, WRONG. NO WIFI. Breakfast? Oh just help yourself to the cereal you'll see sittin out in the kitchen area as you walk in. After informing the manager that they don't have anything that they offer here available to their guest, The manager response to me was well what do you want me to do about it? Wouldn't give me his name, once I started to record his rude behavior towards a customer backing up my complaint & telling the man to get off his property he doesn't care if him & his toddler & infant was waiting for their ride, to leave the property now. They booked us in a room on the second floor, and on they way to it, we passed several areas of junk or other areas in disarray. The room next to us was under construction, with a buzz saw going-so forget relaxing in your room. Room key didn't work so we had to go back downstairs for a replacement. Not to mention when we finally got access to the room- there were dirty towels all over and an unmade bed. Oops. Needless to say we got our money back and walked out. WORST PLACE EVER!!! THIS IS NOT AMERICA'S BEST VALUE!!! I booked this place as a spare incase I needed to stay closer to where I was. First off, it's a three story building with NO ELEVATOR, you have to carry all your belongings up three flights of stairs if you get a room on the third floor. I checked in and paid my $70, went up to my room, set my things down the very squeaky bed on the very thin cheap comforter. There was water spillong from the useless fridge, that's probably ehy the room didn't have carpet. The drawers were all tagged on inside. The pillow cases had yellow stains on them, and to top it all off none of the lights in the room worked. I called the desk using the disgustingly sticky phone to inform them. They sent their maintenance guy (very nice and curteous) over to fix the problem, he then started unscrewing and pulling out outlets one by one, could not get the lights working after about 30-40 minutes. Mind you this took up my time to get ready for the wedding that I was there for. I was then given a room on the first floor, same issues with drawers and bed, the lights worked but none of the power outlets worked except for one. I reported this problem and again the maintenance guy was sent over, at this point I didn't not have time to wait another 40 minutes to get this fixed, I needed to get ready and go. I got ready, I was there for an hour and a half and checked out. I asked for a partial refund and was denied that because I had checked in an hour and a half ago. I came to find out later that this was the same hotel that was making one of the bridesmaids come get her stuff to check out immediately because he needed the room, though she had already paid for two nights. She fought to keep her room and the reply she got was that it was his property and he could do what he wanted. TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE PLACE!! I ended up going to my first option hotel in Bakersfield for $40 with 50 times much better experience!! If you want an affordable pleasant stay, go to the Howard Johnson Inn in Bakersfield. I've stayed there a couple of times. I'm reporting this place to the Better Business Bureau. read more

worst hotel ever !!! i didnt pick this dump my fiancé did . only because he knows the owner but that didnt matter even though she knew him she was still rude bitter old woman .i called before i we checked in because their website has the nerve to advertise the have kitchenettes in each room . if you want to call a microwave that is older than time that dosent have a glass plate inside and a small fridge !! thats not a kitchen ... there was dirty hand towels , stains on the carpets , mirrors filthy , the decor or what they have was soo outdated . no iron , no coffee maker , no haid dryer . wtf ?? and i called the front desk and mrs . personality answered with a "yes " not how can i help u i asked for the wifi password and she was actually annoyed at me asking for it even though thats their job upon check in . i will never stay at this place ever ever again . oh and the pool is a complete joke i wouldnt even throw my dog in it . so yeah hated it !!!! dont ever stay here fork out an extra 20 or 30$ and go to the rodeway inn they have remodeled rooms , friendly staff and working ice and soda machine also happy cutomers .. believe me my fiancé is never going to pick our hotels ever again . and im not letting this owner get off that easy !! she will hear from me again !!!!!! read more
