As someone who travels for work quite a bit, I've developed a personal theory: a hotel can have the nicest furniture in the world, but if the people aren't good, the place still feels like an airport waiting room with beds. Thankfully, Hyatt Place Delano completely disproves that theory. I stay here whenever work brings us out this way, and not once have I had a bad experience. If you're looking for a place with comfortable rooms, a solid continental breakfast, a bar, and good food, you can stop scrolling now. A big shoutout to Steven and Savanna, who seem to be the MVPs whenever we stay here. Steven makes a dangerously good whiskey sour and somehow manages to be bartender, storyteller, and morale booster all at the same time. After a long workday, that positive energy goes a long way. Savanna is just as great--whether she's helping at the front desk or behind the bar, she's always friendly, professional, and makes guests feel genuinely welcome. Employees like them are the reason our crew keeps booking the same spot. The rooms are also a win. You've got a comfortable bed plus a couch area where you can decompress, watch TV, and question your life choices after eating too many wings. Speaking of cleanliness--the place is spotless. You can tell the staff takes real pride in keeping everything dialed in. The breakfast never disappoints either. It's exactly what you want before heading out for the day. And if you're hungry later, do yourself a favor and order the wings. They're excellent with buffalo sauce, but the Asian zing flavor deserves its own fan club. Overall, this place earns a solid five stars. From the employees to the cleanliness to the food, they're doing things right. Honestly, I don't see my foreman picking another hotel when we're back next week--and that's perfectly fine with me. Great job to everyone at Hyatt Place Delano. We got in late and were immediately given our room. The property seems new but some things were a little beat up. We both liked the softness of the bed but they keep the rooms at cool at 65 and the road noise and trains could possibly keep you up. The staff was very friendly and breakfast was above par for a free Continental breakfast. read more

I was doing a long drive and got sleepy. I'm trying to earn points with Hyatt so I stopped here. The price varied a little from what was on my Google Maps. Maybe $10 bucks difference. I checked in. The person at the front desk asked a lot of questions as to what my preference is for a quieter room and location. I just wanted to get to sleep and start driving again in the morning. The room was standard, equipped with ear plugs. Had food doordashed to my room and slept well. In the morning I wandered to check the hotel out. They have a gym, pool, and free breakfast. The hotel is located near a huge shopping plaza with Walmart. I'd stop at this location again if I found my self on a long drive again. read more

usually expect better from Hyatt, but this stay was far from what I'd consider quality service. The room felt poorly maintained -- cleanliness was below average and a few things in the room didn't work properly. The front desk staff seemed indifferent and not very helpful when I brought up my concerns. What made it worse was the lack of attention to detail that Hyatt is supposed to be known for. From check-in to checkout, the overall experience felt rushed and unwelcoming. For the price they charge, I definitely expected more comfort and professionalism. I don't usually leave negative reviews, but this stay really missed the mark. I love it so much. They provided shampoo conditioner and body wash. It also had a hair dryer, and necessity like lotion and more the beds were so comfortable and the breakfast was so GOODDDD!!!!!!! I always try to stay with Hyatt Brand Hotels whenever possible because I know what to expect. This is probably one of my favorite Hyatt Place's to date. Check-in was fast and easy, my room was clean, well stocked, and smelled good. The bed was very comfy, but my pillow was a little flat. No worries.... I just doubled-up on the pillows and slept like a baby. Speaking of sleeping like a baby... my room was super quite, I don't think I've slept that good in ages. The free breakfast offered a variety of choices for most people. They had scrambled eggs, French toast, sausage, bagels, toast, yogurt, fruit, cereal, pastries, oatmeal, boiled eggs, as well as juices, coffee, and tea. Unfortunately, I had to take a pass on the breakfast, but I did enjoy a cup of coffee. The staff here is excellent! They are friendly and helpful if you need anything. WARNING: BED BUGS! Bad Management from Kimberli. Do not stay here. Super disappointing customer service from the GM, Kimberli. We have frequently stayed at this hotel in the past because we have family in Delano, however, they just lost a LOYAL family! On our last night here, we found a bed bug on the pull-out coach. Right when we unfolded the bed bug, I saw a LIVE bed bug plop out onto the mattress. It must've been hiding under the bed frame. Keep in mind, this was already 11pm at night when we were planning to set up the bed. We also had a sleeping toddler already with us, so I did not want to pack up the whole family to get a new room. I decided to suck it up and spend the night there and complain the next morning when I check out. ALSO, keep in mind, ONE BED BUG IS A SIGN THAT THERE COULD BE MANY MORE! We then again saw ANOTHER BEDBUG (this one was dead already) by the window sill the next morning! The next morning at check-out, I let the front desk person know. I ask if there can be any additional compensation (for my stay for my troubles. They told me I need to call the GM, KIMBERLI, to do this since she doesn't have authority to do that. I call the GM the next morning letting her know about my experience, she proceeds to be apologetic and claims that we are the first customers to report bed bugs, WHICH IS FALSE (see other Yelp Reviews!!!). She tells me I need to contact my credit card company to proceed with any compensation since I booked through a third-party. I contact Capital One, and Capital One puts me on hold because the Cap One rep is contacting the GM. The GM tells Cap One that they will not be proceeding with giving any compensation because they could not find any bed bugs, therefore, revoking what they had already told me. LONG STORY SHORT THEY ARE LIARS! First of all, KIMBERLI, your housekeeper is not an exterminator with the expertise to know where and how to search for bed bugs. Second of all, she already told me she would give me some sort of compensation, but then tells the Cap One Rep NVM! The hotel is nice enough and clean and should be fine as long as nothing goes wrong. Unfortunately for us, something did go wrong. The thermostat in our room was broken and was blowing cold air on a cold night in November. I had a four month old baby in the room so this was a real safety concern. Front desk staff was unhelpful. They refused to let me speak to a manager or send maintenance. The front desk staff member was unprofessional. I will never stay here again. Update: KIMBERLY, the manager, is a LIAR. I filed a complaint through Expedia, and she approved a half refund and then never refunded the money. After weeks of attempting to get ahold of her, she refused to process the half refund and would only refund $40. So unprofessional. read more

I had a very unfortunate experience at the Hyatt Delano in early October.  I checked in with two other colleagues for a work trip at the Wonderful Company (a prominent and large employer in the area). All of us booked the hotel reservations at the same time and asked for a King bed. I even called the day before to confirm with no problem. We arrived and checked in at the same time as well.  Both of my colleagues had no issues upon check-in; however, I was originally given double-beds on the first floor.  After an awkward exchange, I was finally given a higher floor, but still double-beds, which I did not reserve. Upon entering the room (#426), I noticed a dark spot on the pillow on the bed closest to the window.  It was a bug and looking closely, realized it was a bedbug!  I walked as close as I felt comfortable and took a quick picture. Then,  I noticed another bug near the corner, between the bed and the nightstand and was DONE. I left the room untouched and hurried out with my things. I showed the photo to staff and they confirmed that I could not return to that room due to the bedbug.  They said they would leave it booked to ensure no other guests would be impacted and that I would not be charged. Sadly, no other rooms were available so they offered me a fully-comped stay at the Best Western (where bedbug issues were on a rampage) or at Holiday Inn (where violent incidents recently took place).  I quickly declined and instead used the sofa bed in my colleague's room. I was assured there will be more King-sized rooms available today. I checked in with the front desk the next morning, left my information, but never heard back.  I called, repeated my story to yet another rep and finally connected with the manager, Richard Ford. He proceeded to "casually" bring up that people bring in bugs to get free stuff and said since I didn't cancel in advance that the charge would remain. "No #$@#$%^&^@!%*, sir!" This should go without saying that I was disappointed and rather appalled by our exchange.  Regardless of pictures, I did not use the room for obvious reasons so should not be charged. All I wanted was a fully-functional room (King bed on an upper floor) and that I be charged for what I actually used. This is a great spot in Delano. I came home to visit family, and instead of staying at the Holiday Inn, I decided to give Delano's newest hotel my patronage. When you call the #, you'll be connected to a national Hyatt rep. The booking was painless. I did end up reluctantly signing up for the World of Hyatt rewards because I was promised free breakfast. Most hotel just call this continental breakfast that comes with your paid stay. Not Hyatt. I ended up willingly giving my email in exchange for free breakfast AND the ability to open my door with my phone. Anyway, the hotel was clean and fresh. Delano is hot and dusty, but this hotel is the exact opposite. My room was clean, and I had a beautiful view of the train tracks. The breakfast station was better than I thought it would be, and it made me forget that I'd sold myself to marketing companies by giving my email to Hyatt! Checkout was easy and the staff was nice. I checked in yesterday morning and paid $50 for an early check in. I travel for my job and I live 4hours away, my schedule was 7pm-7am so I checked in as soon as i got off. I was told by the front desk yesterday that I am able to check out late the next day which is today before 5 for another $50 fee. I went to the front desk just right now at 8am to ask if I could extend till 5 for that fee and was told by the guy in front that they dont do that and to not listen to the previous front desk lady. Ho am I supposed to "not listen" when it's already too late and it's already today. I want my full hours of sleep since I just got here and I dont work until 7pm. So where am I supposed to stay for the next hours then? Have I known this was gonna happen, i wouldve gotten another hotel somewhere and not wasted my time coming back. read more

My husband came out to delano to work a temporary assignment at the hospital. My kids and I stayed for 2 days after he arrived. the pool is freezing, and there isn't a lot for the kids to do but they enjoyed running in the court yard and eating out on the patio. the staff is all friendly. free parking, free wifi, movie channels, and a shopping center near by. the drinks at the hotel bar are tasty not too expensive (about 10.00 for a margarita) the free breakfast could use a little help. the dresser door that hides the mini fridge is barely holding on literally by one screw. noise is too a minimum, black out curtains work perfectly and our room sleeps 6ppl. my kids were mind blown by the sofa bed. overall a comfortable stay. read more

I've stayed hundreds of nights at Hyatt hotels all across the United States. As a Hyatt globalist I try to stay at Hyatt as much as I can. Avoid this place at all costs first of all, they trap you into nonrefundable rooms then when you need to change the dates, they change the dates incorrectly and that's if you can ever get anybody ever answer the phone and when they do answer the phone at the front desk they hang up on you. *****WARNING****** THIS HYATT IS INFESTED WITH BUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I stayed here at the end of May 2022 and was put into a room on the 1st floor. The room had BED BUGS and ANTS. The on-site manager had me put into another room on the forth floor, after showing him proof of the bugs on my phone. The next day I found BED BUGS and Carpet BEETLES in my bed. I immediately went down stairs checked out and asked for a refund because of the inconvenience. The manager Kimberly Velazquez refused to give me a refund even after providing proof and a written statement from the on-site manager. You know I'm not sure why there are so many miserable reviews. For $160 nightstand this place wasn't bad at all. The only reason I gave it for storage is because the Wi-Fi was down for the whole weekend and apparently the pool has had multiple unsanitary violations. If I didn't have grandkids I wouldn't have known that. They had eggs sausage potatoes a ton of fruit a bunch of bread choices with hard boiled eggs coffee juices everything you need for breakfast. The lobby and the eating area was spotless and very well organized with TVs everywhere. Who knows? Maybe they remodeled the entire hotel in the last 30 days but I would definitely stay here again. read more

Our family and I stayed here on a birthday for a friends vacation. The rooms are nice and spacious. The free food buffet is very disappointing and taste bad, the best part is the fresh fruit. The pool and jacuzzi are dirty and freezing temperatures the front desk stated it hasn't worked since last year 2021 and still they haven't done any effort to fix it. The front desk has this young lady that kept arguing with people that were staying at the hotel complaining about kids in general and having a feisty nasty attitude. She also argued with very much older people in regards of a spill one of their grandchildren made it was very uncomfortable to see. I Don't understand why they allow breakfast to be brought up To the rooms if they want no accidents to ever happen. Delano definitely needed a new hotel. It's nice and modern. Staff is still in the training phase, but you can see the efforts being made. The AC is a mess. The room was HOT!! I set the AC at 73 degrees and it kept shutting off. I get it, energy efficient, but the temperature in the room never reached 73 degrees so why did it keep shutting off? There's a small pool, great for kids, but I expected a little more. More shade, being that it's in Delano, and more space. It looks like an outdated apartment pool. There's a gym, Complimentary breakfast, and a not-so put together bar. I'm sure in about a year or so everything will be running much smoother. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. read more

So I travel and live in hotels for a living. (See Up In The Air movie w Clooney). That about sums me up. There's many of us. Lol. Ok so new Hyatt Place in Delano. Awesome. Love it. Eh ok so I need my room card to turn on power. Energy focused, I like it. Until, I put my room key in, turn on the power in my 83 degree room and it's blowing hot air. So I go to dinner thinking it will cool down. (Decent wing joint around the corner - decent beer selection and sports bar TV set up which is cool). Come back an hour later, 82 degrees. (No there are no windows that open that allow the cool night air in to naturally cool the room). (Common sense people, stop it). Go see the front desk and they express their frustration with the system. They go up reset the unit and 30 minutes later....it's ... still 82. They move me to another room. 2 queens vs the 1 king I paid for but at least the room is 70. I explained I like sleeping in a colder room (side bar- studies have proven people sleep better in slightly colder rooms vs warm rooms) but I digress; the room thermostats here will not go below 68. Never once was I offered a water or anything for my inconvenience. So CA Central Valley, May, first summer is upon you and you can't get the AC right? It's gonna be a long hot summer folks. And I'll be in any one of about 50 other Hampton/Holliday Inn Express/ Courtyard/ Hilton Garden Inns where the gestapo doesn't dictate my room temp. Sorry I love Hyatt Place hotels, and I love solar and energy efficiency, but I like to sleep too and service is important. You all blew it with a Diamond/Platinum traveler. Stayed here for a week. I had forgotten my keycard in the room and asked the front desk for a replacement. Attendant only asked for my room number, attendant did not verify name on reservation or ask for ID. Did not feel safe afterwards staying there if attendant freely gives out a room card without verifying anything, seems like anyone can get a room card without showing identification. read more

After driving in circles for 10 hours we were ready to check into our hotel and put the kids to bed. Hubby booked a room at Hyatt place via Expedia and we got confirmation email. We ate our dinner and headed to the hotel. We were 5 miles away from Hyatt when we received a call from the hotel informing us that there was a glitch in their system and that they had no rooms available. Wtf?!!? And then they had the nerve to tell us that they will be cancelling our reservation with no penalty to us. Double wtf?!!??!! We were so pissed and sooooo tired. Miss information, lack of coordination, poor management, since the beginning about prices Nayeli will give good price before signing the contract. A week before the event at the time of signing she changed all prices, there was no room to change anything. Over charge of rooms, cancellation and penalties were imposed to the credit card. The catering service was the hotel maintenance employees, not trained to serve a social event. She charge for that service 75.00 each employee/cater. Plus chef 600, plus the place 200 more of what she said at the beginning. I am really mad upset that she didn't care for the big amount of money we spent and she still overcharged the credit card. Hyatt place superiors check the hotel and employees see the quality and service they are offering. When you enter the hotel rarely there is someone at the counter. The service is trash. read more

We are frequently travelers and primarily stay at Marriott hotels or Hyatt, never once had an issue with bed bugs until Hyatt Place Delano!!!! We stayed on the FIRST FLOOR room #135 this passed weekend 3/10/23-3/12/23, like I mentioned this is our first time dealing with bed bugs what we should've done was take the time to take pictures of the bed but we found in the pull out couch and the other dead bed bugs we found by the window/by our bags! We were honestly so disgusted and ready to check out we didn't even think to take pictures, but based off the poor customer service we reserved from Hyatt Place Delano we now regret not having pictures to prove. When checking out we mentioned to our front desk the bed bugs that were discovered in our room and they played the role of being shocked so well, they advised us to contact the general manager Kimberly tomorrow because she was not onsite and the only one who could compensate. When calling back today they had the AUDACITY to lie and say we were the first people to complaint about bed bugs, when clearly there are other complaints here on Yelp of bed bugs from different floors, different rooms at the Hyatt place delano. When talking to Kimberly she said she would compensate us and was already in contact with credit card agent about the compensation then Kimberly revoked the compensation because supposedly the cleaning services didn't find any bugs in room#135. Based on the Yelp reviews here at the Hyatt place Delano, they clearly have a bed bug issue, we clearly aren't the first people to complain about this like they've tried to lie to us about and as a general manager Kimberly should be well aware of this! For her to grant compensate just to revoke it especially knowing this hotel has/had issues with bed bugs in past complaints is unbelievably terrible customer service, most especially for a general manager working for HYATT.
