While this place was cheap, there's always a reason why, right? This is the type of hotel that people negotiate an even cheaper rate for an extended stay and they live here. We asked for a pet friendly non-smoking room and they stick us in a room in between two smokers that pretty much lived with their door open sitting in a chair smoking with one of them that actually had a commercial grade ashtray stand for his butts. Most hotel beds have a nice platform. These beds had a plain Jane fold up metal frame. The mini refrigerator look like it had seen better days. The wall unit underneath the window for cooling and heating barely cooled at all. It's not uncommon for a hotel to have a coffee maker with a little plastic bag that includes one or two sugars and a couple creamers, a napkin, and a stir straw... The creamers must have been there since the days of Moses because it was solid and brittle. I have pictures of the mini fridge, the bed frames, and the nasty creamer. This place was terrible! If you are broke and desperately needing some place that's better than being on the street then this will be a step up read more

This place was a good value. Of course it's not on the main drag but it's pretty close. The area is decent and we walked to decent seafood restaurants that were nearby then took uber back to the room. The pool area was very nice. The room was your typical low budget motel layout but it didn't feel old or dark or grimy like some do. I would definitely come back here. read more

We where at St. Agustin for a day decided to stay here after searching on Priceline web. I confess that it was not bad meet Uceff st the reception very warming welcome. The night was calm beds clean at eye view. I did have grits for breakfast in my stile way added creams butter 2 sugars and hot water. Hot water faucet is behind the coffee pot. I recommend taking the hair dryer out of the outlet since its light will badder your sleep time. read more

We stayed here 07/16-07/19 very clean staff super friendly manager Joseph was very accommodating Egyptian but speaks very good English & Spanish? upgraded us to their suite, room had a bathroom with shower and a large jacuzzi tub jets weren't operating but aside from that okay also there's a small area what would be the living room had a table and chairs no sofa not a big deal because we went to take in Saint Augustine bed was comfortable & clean pool was super clean & perfect temperature other guest were friendly it's a small property so not to much traffic close to the beach 10 min walk or you can drive to Saint Augustine beach 15 minutes and 20 minutes to old Saint Augustine there's a Walgreens next door and a couple of restaurants within walking distance we'll definitely stay here again Thanks Joseph & staff for a great stay read more

If you simply need a place to lay down and get some rest, this might work for you. After all, it is an economy motel, so it has economy features. I was expecting nothing astounding and that's good, because that's what I got. The bed was comfortable and I slept decently, but the door had a gap under it that would have allowed some of the larger creatures (lizards, mice) to waltz right in. The TV was about 30", which I thought was comical. I don't check into motels to watch TV, but I thought it might be a bit larger than my computer monitor. The bathroom fan sounded like it came off a World War II vintage propeller plane. I don't know if it actually moved any air, but it sure sounded like it could. Finally, the hotel had a serious lack of warm water. I was the third to shower in the bathroom this morning, but by the time I arrived, the water was running around 45 degrees. It was a Polar Bear Club initiation moreso than a hotel stay. Quick shower, it was. The location is good and offers a lot of eating or shopping experiences. The check in process was pretty seamless and the mattresses were bagged to eliminate bed bugs. That's all pretty much what you expect from a hotel, I guess, but with the addition of some hot water, this place might have been a three. The hotel was a great value for the price, as expected. The front office staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was clean, the upgraded floors (no carpet!) was great and made it feel much cleaner than hotels with carpet. The room was spacious and clean, as was the bathroom area. read more

This is a very decent place for price. Clean rooms and nice staff. I don't like to review hotel/motels if I only stay one night however I feel as though I have a strong grasp of the lay of the land. The staff. Checkin, Housekeeping and maintenance man were all very friendly and personable. The room exceeded expectations with look and over all feel. Beds were decent enough but pillows were harder than I like. I also wish the TV was HD with compatible channels. Very basic options. You never notice how good your TV and channels are until you see the non-HD. Overall I will definitely stay here again if need be. Perfect place to stay if you are local and in a jam or just passing through. read more

I vacation here once a year! I really like the location of this hotel because it is walking distance to great restaurants, the beach, grocery store and beach shops. I barely use my car once I get there. The staff is wonderful, good price for the location, and the rooms are clean. They offer a delicious breakfast to start me out for my day! Stayed here for 3 days last September, as I had never been to St Augustine and while doing some traveling, decided to stay here at the last minute. Called ahead about 3 hours before we got there and the lady on the phone was very nice. Even though we got there about 90 minutes early, they let us check in right away and were very nice. The rooms are very nice, spacious and clean. The queen sized bed is very comfortable and there is a fridge and microwave. The TV is a little small but then again, you do not go on vacation to watch TV, so that was no big deal. The swimming pool is nice and private and clean. The breakfast bar is small but for those who do not eat much in the morning or just like cereal, it is good enough. For those with a bigger appetite, there are plenty of good restaurants close by. Everything you need is within walking distance. The beech is just a short walk across the street and there is a great restaurant next door. Downtown St Augustine is just a 15 minute drive down the road and there is lots to see and do there. All in all, I highly recommend this hotel and for the price, you just can not beat it and I look forward to staying here again. read more

We stayed here one night checking in at 9 pm and departing at 10 the following morning. At check in, we were warmly greeted and everything was very professional. The price was good for a beach town, less than $100 on a Friday night. All of the reviews we read remarked on the cleanliness but that was not our experience. The room had a very strong odor and so did the outside, it was just a different smell. The floor needed a good cleaning. The bedspread did not appear to be clean either so we put that to the side. All of the bedding was poor quality. Continental breakfast was free but very limited. Most items were the Wal Mart house brand but they also had Little Debbie donut sticks. When we return, we will surely stay elsewhere even with a higher rate. read more

If i had to base my review on my first night here the other day, I'd give it 4 + stars. On the road with family, and booked ahead of time from Trip Advisor reviews, which were pretty good. We showed up after 10pm, and had no problems. Two rooms, off to bed. Breakfast in am was decent, all went well. For the money, all is wonderful about this place, great bang for the buck! Except for one very unpleasant Eastern European desk clerk who should NOT be dealing with the public. We headed back up North from southwest FLA, and decided to book back in (last night ) as we had had such a positive experience a few days ago. It was midnight, and this time we had booked online, but chose the "pay later" option as it's the only one we saw. When we got there, the above mentioned clerk had already charged the rooms to my husband's card. We explained the pay later option, and she very rudely told us that after 9pm you cannot book that way. I was waiting for a check to clear, which actually had, but had planned to pay the next morning, in case. Finally, she grudgingly removed the booking, but again was just awful. My husband rather mindlessly picked a cookie from a plate nearby, assuming it was left there for guests. Miss RUDE very nastily said, "That's for BREAKFAST!" . Just a very bad experience with that particular "lady" and we were so tired after driving 7 hours, it was a bad way to end the day. People like this grouch shouldn't be in customer service jobs. This hotel is very simple and nothing fancy but they are keeping the rooms and the grounds very clean. We spent there 5 nights and it was a good expierince. The pool is food size and very clean, there are many chairs to sit around. The location is also nice as it is few mins ride from different beach accesses. There are coffee shops and publix to purchase groceries if needed. Bunch of good restaurants on beach Blvd and short ride to pier. It is exactly what they have in their description. read more

I had a reservation Memorial Day weekend. I had a medical emergency and had to cancel the afternoon before, and even called from the airport after I landed. I explained to the very rude clerk why I needed to cancel and asked if there was a way I could get my money refunded? He had no sympathy at all and was very rude. I am sure that they could easily have sold the room to someone else that day. I was still charged the full amount ($74) on my credit card and am disputing it. Stay somewhere else. read more

I have stayed at this hotel previously and been very happy with it. Great location, great price. My last stay, however, was a nightmare. I was awakened around 3:00 am by something crawling on my face. I batted it off, turned on the light....to find I'd had a cockroach crawling ON MY FACE. By my MOUTH. I scooped it up in a tissue and went into the bathroom to flush it...and as soon as I turned on the light, several more of his little buddies went skittering for shelter. At this point I decided I really had to get out of the room. Got dressed, and when I went to put on my shoes...you guessed it....several more cockroaches came running out from under my shoes. I went around to the front desk, and the guy wouldn't even open the door for me. I shouted my problem through the glass door, he says there's nothing he can do until the manager comes in the next day. I asked for another room, he said nothing was available. So, I went back to the room, turned on all the lights and held vigil until morning. When I went back to the front desk, a new lady was there, very sympathetic, but again...nothing she can do without the manager's okay. She gave me the manager's email address. When I returned home, I sent an email...no response. I sent another email to the corporate office. They at least responded, saying they would forward my email to the manager. Never heard a thing back. I understand, it's Florida...Florida has bugs. But I had cockroaches crawling ON MY FACE and all over my room...and don't even get the courtesy of a response from the manager??? I'm done with this hotel. read more

My husband and I checked in on 8-8-19 for our anniversary trip. He is recently disabled so funds were limited this year. Upon check we were given our first room on the ground floor near the pool room 117. There were ants all outside the room, sink was draining very slowly, refrigerator was slightly cold. Tried to ignore it but by the next morning I realized I had 9 ant bites on me. We realized some of the ants were in our room. We asked to be moved to another room. There were no more rooms on the ground floor. We were moved to room 207 but they didn't have elevators to accomadate disabled ppl. Fortunately my husband had his crutches to get up the stairs. This room was a step up from the last room but it reeked of old cigarette smoke eventhough it was a non smoking room. The breakfast was a joke. 2 cereal options, bagels, white, wheat bread, english muffin. Jelly and peanut butter, juice and coffee. That's it. I thought it was a hot breakfast but had to go to WinDixie and buy some microwaveable breakfast sandwiches. The hotel is close to restaurants and beach. That's the only good thing about this hotel. I strongly encourage you to stay somewhere else if you can afford to. read more

Our reservation led us to believe we would have 1 double and 2 queen beds in our room. We arrived between 11pm - 12am. I was informed they do not have rooms like that, but could get a "sleeper sofa" for an additional fee of $11. A few minutes later, the desk attendant brought a roll a way cot to our room, with a blanket that felt it was made of fiberglass. When we got our luggage into the room we immediately had to kill a cockroach that was crawling up the wall (it was not a palmetto bug). The paint was peeling off the walls and the ceiling had several places where they had repaired what looked to be water damage. None of us slept under the blankets that night. I was told the manager would call me the next day to refund my $11 fee. No phone call, no refund. Just glad we were only staying there one night. read more

This hotel is very reasonably priced and the customer service was great. The rooms are very clean and roomy. Equipped with fridge, microwave, coffee pot, hair dryer, iron and ironing board. The towels are pretty plush and the beds are super comfy! The pillows are to die for, if you like big soft pillows. The beach is a short walk away, but you have to cross the highway. There is a wonderful restaurant next door that has some good food at very decent prices. They also have a continental breakfast in the morning providing bagels, cream cheese, english muffins, white or wheat toast, choice of 4 different cold cereals, oatmeal or grits, honey buns, donut stix,pecan pinwheels and a choice of oj or coffee. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because, although they have direct tv, the rooms only get approximately 32 channels and 7 of those channels revolved around sports. No free movie channel. And once you get done exploring this wonderful town, it would have been nice to curl up and watch a good show or movie before falling asleep. read more
