Recently visited America's Best Wings off of Lynnhaven last week. It was my first time going but my daughter who I was with is a regular. I got the 5 wings, french fries and drink combo. The cost was very reasonable. It took maybe 10 minutes for our food to come out. We ate at home, which took about a 15 minute drive. Food was warm not hot so I microwaved it. The food was still good. I love they serve crinkly fries, you rarely see that nowadays at restaurants. I will definitely come back and try the philly next time. read more

You can't help but notice the restaurant, even off the road. The big pic adds on the front door reminds me of big city deli shops in NYC. It states Best Wings, so I can't wait to try them. But first when you walk in not much on the decore. You have a couple of sitting tables to your right, and soda fountain area on the left. But definitely adds all up on the wall. So I ordered Buffalo Wings but you can order and make it hot to your liking. I also ordered plain wings, so I can put my own amount of season on it. Okay...what I liked about the wings is that they we're of good size not some mini nibbles. And that they are quick on getting the order out, so it was nice and hot. The Buffalo hot wings were pretty tasty, and hot . The plain wings was good crunch on the outside and juicy on the inside. Plus the price was moderate. I can only aay that they are not bad. I recently ordered takeout. I got a 10-piece wing combo with all flat wings. The mild Buffalo wings were incredibly saucy, which is just how I like them. I also got the garlic Parmesan wings. People should be aware that their garlic Parmesan wings are not sauced, so be aware. I also ordered a chicken cheesesteak with American cheese & everything on it except tomatoes. Been here twice once just getting wings and the other got wings and lamb & beef over rice. Lamb and beef over rice is not able to be ordered online so called in. Everything was good. I called in for a rice bowl and was refused service because I would not add meat. There was a choice between lamb, chicken or beef. TMI but... I'm on a special diet and can't endeavor meat right now. The worker said " no mam I can't serve you that meal without the meat" K.I.M. the rice is served under the meat with a salad on the side. Very good takeout wings place. The interior won't win you over. Think your average Chinese takeout place. I haven't been here despite it being open for many years because I'm super picky about wings. Above all else they have to be crisp. This place passed the test. The wings were perfectly crispy and cooked to perfection. The meat slid right off the bone once you bit in. Customer service sucks. Came in ordered 2 20 piece wings 110 piece. When I was ordering I repeated multiple times. I want all the meals to come with fries and a drink. The guy repeated back 2 20 piece 1 10 piece and I said yes with fries and drinks, then he told me the total said OK I paid, he ended up not charging me enough so I told him you told me a certain amount, but this is less so he had to go in and fix it. Waited 20 minutes for all the wings no fries no drink. When I told them I ordered fries and a drink. They said no you didn't. I said yes I did. I ended up getting comped for one small fry and a drink. I'll be straight up honest - this place has the best wings that you can get in volume in Va Beach. Period. (I've never been to the Lynnhaven location, so I can't comment on that one... this is just for the Farrell parkway location.) I've had their wings a few times over the past few years, and I have yet to find better wings, especially for the price. They will divide up the flavors as well, at least one flavor per 10 wings, which will allow you to get a number of flavors if you want. I've had their old bay hot, garlic hot, and normal hot, along with their bbq and teriyaki flavors... and they are really good. The wings themselves are much bigger than what you'll get at Buffalo Wild Wings. Cooked very well, crispy, lots of meat, and the boneless wings are much bigger than nuggets... they are like mini-chicken tenders. At BWW you get heavily breaded nuggets; not at this place. The only places comparable to them are Dirty Buffalo and Lendy's, but the difference is those two places are sit-down, dine-in restaurants... not America's Best Wings... this is a place you call the order in and then pick it up a half hour later... take them home, pop open a cold beer, and enjoy football (or whatever sport you're into). They have a lot of other food on the menu too - but I wouldn't get anything other than wings from a place called America's Best Wings... right? As I was leaving to find an ATM I checked my online bank app and saw it had in fact went through. Went back in ... explained it and they had to "call " the company for the cc to see if I was lying! Well, the besides the fact that I've eaten here for dinner 3x in a row this past weekend should tell you they're doing a damn good job. I don't know about the title "America's Best Wings" but they certainly aren't bad by any measure. I tend to get the 10 wings combo, sub veggies (which are surprisingly really good! The seasoning they put on the veggies is on point) So far the flavors I've gotten are Moondust (they were ok), Lemmon-Pepper (which are the best flavor to me so far), Spicy Garlic (surprisingly hotter than I expected) and just "Hot". Yes, like other reviews, their "Spicy" is hotter than most but hey I'm all for it, so it depends on your preference. Located in the Parkway Marketplace off Ferrell Parkway, they also serve burgers, subs, seafood...and ice cream?!? Yep, wasn't expecting to see that, along with a small selection of desserts. I prefer not to order wings to go, I like it fresh out the fryer when it's hot and crispy. Pressed on time, I had no choice. I got the 10 piece wings combo, that came with fries and a drink. The cashier there was so patient with me as I asked questions about their overwhelmingly 36 different flavors of chicken wings. I split it between old bay and garlic hot pepper. After waiting a short time and finally getting home, I was ready to eat. These wings were still hot, crispy and delicious. The garlic hot pepper, although it had only 1 pepper in the level of spiciness should've seriously been a 3 or 4...they were HOT. I can't imagine what the hot flavor would taste like. Old Bay was just right! The wings also came with celery, but they didn't have that snap when biting into it, they were a bit flimsy. I was at Rite-aid picking up a few things and also needed to get food while I was out--this place is right in the same plaza and I had been hearing good things about it so it was the perfect opportunity to stop by and try the food. It's in the same strip mall as the Food Lion. When I parked, the first thing I noticed was that the place was packed, which is a good sign. When I walked in, I was surprised how massive the menu was! They had everything from wings (over 30 sauces/flavors), burgers, fish, salads, sandwiches, sides, and desserts. The menu board wrapped around the walls at the front of the shop. I ordered a 10-piece wing combo (half spicy BBQ, half Thai chili) which came with fries (crinkle-cut, win!) and a drink. Even though there was a line before me, my wait was only about 10 minutes. Not bad at all! My recommendation would be to grab a takeout menu and call ahead if you can; I got the impression that this place stays busy. Got the food home and my SO and I crushed it; it was really tasty! The Thai chili was especially good. I was in the mood for wings today, and to my surprise a place that's about 5 seconds from my house just opened up! Close to food lion in the sketchy old strip mall America's Best Wings stands out. The outside blends well but once you walk inside it's open, clean, and bright. The menu literally lines the wall of this place. THATS how extensive it is. Currently they have 36 flavors of wings. So I had no idea what to choose. I went with the hot and the hot garlic. Now, I'm a spicy kinda girl. But WOO this heat builds. I can typically put away about 15 wings no problems. But here. The hot sauce got me and I don't think I even did 10. It wasn't that bad hot though. Where it ruins the food. No, these were delicious, just...hot! Haha. I'd recommend a hot and then a flavored one for your first time. If you're a bit weak to spicy things then DEFINITELY do mild!!! I also got an order of onion rings which were great!! America's Best Wings are not!!! Twice I have visited the location at Military Circle. It would appear they turn the temperature of the fryers so high that the outside cooks fast. The inside of the chicken wings are not fully cooked. By example, you should not have to get a good grip on the wing to break the chick apart or even eat the chicken from the bone. Secondly, the batter fried shrimp.... Again, overly cooked on the outside that you can almost smell as though the grease is burned. Yes, grease can burn.... Maybe, that is it, that are using old grease to cook and not changing it out as often as they should. Valid Grease Tips: For French fries, other non-breaded items, and veggies, change the oil after 6-8 uses. Whereas the oil should be replaced after the use of 3-4 times for breaded, meat, poultry, and crumbly foods. If you are frying fish (breaded), change the oil after 2-3 times. I have never left a yelp review - but This place REQUIRES it. I consider it more like a public safety notice/warning. GROSS, EW, YUCK. From how dirty the walls were, including peeling paint, to the filthy barely working soda machine, crusty counters, etc. You cannot see what they are cooking or how they are cooking it. if the lobby looks this bad, you can just imagine the kitchen you CAN'T see. Employees didn't have any concern for getting the order ready correctly or quickly. All of the 1 star reviews are correct. Any reviewers that didn't visit the restaurant should definitely mention it. You can not give this place any more than one star if you see it. I would give "a no star" rating. This is the first place I have ever entered that I immediately needed to cancel my order. The one reviewer is on point - the place does not smell like food. It's a strange combo of unrecognizable smells. None if which are of the cleaning variety. Please read the reviews of people who have actually visited. A review based on What someone gets delivered in a grubhub bag isn't the same. It Doesn't include the smells, or the crust built up on the cabinet doors, the dirty floor, and thick layers of cob webs on the walls. Health department inspection scores should be posted online. I'm very disappointed in the Virginia Beach Health Department. They used to keep a database that gives access to Health Code Violations by searching a restaurant . This used to be updated with in 24 hours of inspection. Now it is several years out of date. Americas best wings on Ferrell Parkway had 34 violations in 2018.
