The tiny parking was busy with lots of patrons. The line was to the door. So, we just knew the food was going to be fresh and hot. We ordered a 5 piece party wing, waffle fries, 4 piece chicken, and chicken strips and waffles. The chicken was hot but unseasoned. The fries were soggy. They didn't have hot sauce or ranch, and they didn't include the syrup. So, we had to go back inside to request it. After waiting for as long as we did & paying as much as we did, the expectation was reasonable. They didn't meet it & we had to add our own seasonings. I wouldn't say we won't go back in the future. I will just try something else & will be sure to check my food before leaving.

More importantly, the food here is very good. We opted to try Dave's #2, which consists of two sliders with fries, served with kale slaw, pickles, and Dave's Sauce. In retrospect, we probably should have dialed the heat level back a notch or two, but what the heck, WE LIVE ONCE! We selected EXTRA HOT, and they're not fooling around. IT IS HOTT! That said, underneath all that heat there is plenty of flavor. Everything works together very nicely, especially the chicken, kale slaw, pickles, and Dave's Sauce. On our next visit, we'll probably opt out of the bun. My Wife simply took hers off the bun and ate the chicken by itself, and frankly, it doesn't need much help. The housemade pickles are a standout. They have just the right bite and complement the chicken really well. The sauces are very good too, especially Dave's Sauce. It's creamy, smoky, slightly sweet, and does a great job balancing some of that serious heat. We also enjoyed reading the story of how Dave's started in 2017 with three childhood friends, a parking lot, a portable fryer, and $900. It's quite a story considering what the brand has become. We had a great overall experience here, and we are already planning our next visit. And considering EXTRA HOT had our full attention, I think we'll leave REAPER for someone considerably braver!
