STAY AWAY FROM AMERIGAS! Amerigas is the WORST COMPANY I've EVER dealt with! I spent two years trying to get billing straight with them due to their errors. Getting a person that can make a decision is impossible. I got a new company to install a new take and take of our service. I called to advise them to come pick up their tank and they had the audacity to tell me that it would cost nearly $500 to pick up their tank! Crooks. I switched to Amerigas last year because they had a substantial rebate if you did a fill up. I have a personal owned 1000 gal tank. When they arrived, the first thing that said was that I had to repaint the tank before they would fill it up. None of the other companies ever required this. I got the paint and painted it. Then they started the fill but stopped just enough to to avoid having to to pay the rebate($300). They told me that there was something wrong and couldn't finish the fill(thus cancelling the rebate) They left, drove though our garden, got stuck then finally got out but destroyed the lawn there. They never followed up and never sent the rebate. Without a doubt the company is crooked. I called Suburban and they came out and filled the tank and their price was good. I am still with Suburban and emphatically suggest that you stay away from Amerigas. read more

Crooks. There is a yearly charge for the tank that is out way too high and then when you cancel the service there is a 300 dollar fee to get rid of the tank. Highway robbery. Just be warned they will charge you for everything and not disclose any of the fees. read more

On 4/20/23 at 10:34am I "chatted" with "Shubham" regarding the erroneous invoice applied to my account in the amount of $289.99. The invoice was dated 4/19/23 and was for a "service dispatch fee and tank equipment maintenance" that I never requested, and of course never received. I repeated several times to Shubham (who was most helpful) that I am NOT going to pay this erroneous invoice, and that if it is NOT removed from my account, I will cancel my service with Amerigas immediately. I am not happy with the "outsourced" billing service, and this is not the first time I've complained about its billing methods. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would! I ordered a delivery on January 6, and it is now January 22. I still have no propane. I have called no less than 10 times to wait longer than 45 minutes on hold to speak to someone. Then to be put on hold again so that person can communicate with the delivery people. Each time, I was promised a delivery by close of business that day. Well, they lied! This company has gone downhill in the last year. I will preface this review by saying our local office was friendly and quick with delivery; however, if there's a billing problem, you don't deal with your local office. On my very first delivery I was charged a fee that I was specifically told would be waived. They charged my credit card, and it took three months of calling repeatedly before I received a refund. Have been trying for over two weeks to have gas delivered. I'm supposed to be on their scheduled delivery, so that I don't have to call in. If you have this, there is no way for you to request service online as the wonderful voice keeps telling me on the phone. They now have this great new call in service, where you're on hold for at least 20 min before you actually speak to someone. I'm currently on hold as I type this. I have already spoken to three different people, three different times with no results. My last call I was told gas would be delivered that day!! That was 4 days ago and still nothing. Ordered a gas fill on 11/04/2020 it's now 12/18/2020 and my tank remains empty. I've called, sent emails, used the websites live chat and have yet to have any luck. They were quick to get my house set up with a tank but apparently they hate to come back and fill it. read more

Service has to be terrible for me to leave a review. I have had NOTHING but problems with Amerigas since DAY ONE. I was shopping around and they promised me that they could deliver and install my very first tank the following week, once I had paid a hefty $400 payment. Once the payment was submitted, I called in to arrange the delivery *as instructed). They told me it would be three weeks. I was disappointed, but had no choice but to wait. They require you be there and cannot provide you with any time frame whatsoever. I took the entire day off. 5 O'clock rolls around and I call...They had no clue what I was talking about. The assured me they would reschedule me. The next available apt they had was a MONTH after that!! When they finally came out, the guy they sent had no clue how to work the fireplace (even with the entire manual) which he looked over for an hour and a half. To sum this visit up, before he left he shut my gas off!!! The purpose of his visit was to install, fill, check for leaks, and to TURN ON to make sure it's running safely and smoothly. Due to the fact he turned it off, it was another 4 weeks until they could come turn it back on (their fault)..I had to miss an entire day, AGAIN and GUESS WHAT? Yup.. they didn't show. When I called, didn't even have me scheduled!! Finally, they sent a guy out about 4 days later who did the job. Today, I have had it. I just received another bill for nearly $300 because they decided to charge me twice, for the only full tank of gas that they brought me, which I have been unable to use. Complete BS. do not ENDURE THE HASSLE WITH AMERIGAS. It is exhausting, the CSR reps are RUDE, and they do not take care of their customers. Period. I hope my review will be helpful to others.
