Absolutely do not use this company. We have been waiting for a delivery for over a month in the middle of winter and have been without heat for a week now. This is the worst gas company I've ever dealt with. Their customer service is horrible. You can't call anyone in America. You're speaking to someone in Philippines!! They charge you just under 5.00 per gallon for a propane tank in a residential house. We're constantly sending emails and no response. We want our tank removed because they won't let us buy it which is in our contract that we can. If you're considering getting a gas company STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM AMERIGAS in fact run fast. I ordered a gas delivery on January 4, they said it would be delivered Jan 13-16. On the 15th I got an email saying it would not be delivered on the 16th- no explanation! Then I got an email saying the delivery would be the 16th - 18th. The 18th is almost over and no delivery. Almost out of gas to heat the house! Called the company several times and they are of zero help and can't give us any information. read more

TERRIBLE UNETHICAL COMPANY - THEY CAUSED A LEAK, CAME TO FIX IT, BUT TRYING TO MAKE ME PAY A BILL FOR THE FIX. THEY WON'T EVEN LET ME SPEAK WITH A MANAGER AT THE COMPANY OR SOMEONE AT THE LOCAL OFFICE. Ordered propane as a new customer. They performed a tank leak test. The technician cross-threaded the plug when done. Then they came and filled the tank. After that, I smelled propane, which led me to find the cross-threaded plug. They came out to fix it, however charged me $350. I should not be paying for their mistake. Unable to talk to anyone at the local office to resolve, and the call center is just saying there is nothing they can do. read more

I've been a customer for over 15 years! I've paid 150 to rent a tank every year. I've filled my tank as my one fireplace will burn. i called to order gas today. 4.50 a gallon with 2 other local companies called one at 2.85 and one at 3.05 respectively. Also I was told I had to pay a 140.00 for a serviceman to check for a leak, I still have 30 percent. So no leak, I called last year and was told I did not have a low enough to make a fill so I'm screwed either way. Tried to talk to someone who spoke English. Called p ladner at corporate to see if I could get someone that I could understand or better yet they could understand me. No luck. I asked one of the broken English people what I need to do to just stop the tank lease, I am told I have to pay a 100.00 disconnect fee plus a 299.00 removal fee for something I don't use except for the fireplace. What kind of business is this. So the only way I can get out of it is to sell my house is what one of them said. RIDICULOUS SO UNTIL I DIE I HAVE TO PAY 400.00 to remove it or 150.00 a year for something I don't use....... Buyer beware these people are SCAM ART. read more

Absolutely the worst company I have ever dealt with. Horrible. 7 Days without heat. I have done the online chat, made calls. They keep telling me someone will be calling me. I could go on and on, but you get the point. They do not allow people to walk in. I suspect their customer service people work from home. They do nothing but take notes and tell you help is on the way. They billed me $421 for doing nothing. We bought a new home and the tank we were stuck with is owned by AmeriGas. PLEASE, if you buy a home and you learn AmeriGas owns the tank, before you move in, have them remove the tank, and go with some other propane company that is local and that that you can call with when you have an issue. read more

Bought a house that had a propane tank from this company. They do not answer phone calls and if they do you will be put on hold at least every time for 30 -45 minutes. When they answer they pretend not to hear you and hang up on you. They glady charge you yearly for a service you do not use and will not take it off your account even though I have told them many times. It goes against your credit and house. THEY MUST BE STOPPED. Amerigas Propane serving the Murphy, NC area is the WORST in customer service. They claim that they made a propane delivery to my home - which was not ordered or authorized and will not reverse the charges. They said that it was up to me to pay them to remove the propane tank from my underground tank and I would have to pay them to do this. I did not even order the delivery !!! I've tried for 6 months to get my $103 credit. Sadly, I will continue to frustrate myself and make noise of this issue until it is resolved. read more

AmeriGas provided me with a high tech schedule for my fall refill delivery in text. Hey thanks! Someone over 18 is supposed to be here while they fill the tank. I was in the hospital and had to pay people to standby and wait for the truck. No one showed up between the times they provided me. I called them - by the way they are not on Middlebrook Pike. Apparently, they've moved to the Philippines. Good luck, understanding their service reps. their website says stop by "visit" the location on Middlebrook Pike. I did. There's a sign on the door that says No walk-ins. I'll beat on the door anyway The Phillipino rep did find out when my delivery was supposed to be ... a day late. Did AmeriGas inform me of that change? No. This company knows they're going to make their money regardless, because we need their service. However they don't have enough self-respect to give a hoot what the public thinks of them. I was contemplating having them come and get this leaky tank out of my yard. NEVER sign on with AmeriGas unless all you want is frustration, headaches, freezing inside your home, and lied to! I'm with others, if I could leave no stars, or even a negative 'star' review, I would. I did not choose them, they bought out Heritage Propane which was wonderful. So, I am on automatic delivery and this is the third year they have let me run out of/so low on propane (currently 7%) that the furnace and stove do not work properly which alerted me to low propane because of them not working. One year, I paid HVAC to come look at furnace to see what was wrong only to be informed that I was out of propane. Like others, someone has to be here when it is completely depleted but they won't reimburse you for missed wages because of their negligence! And they don't even show up when they say they are going to show up. I paid people to be here three days in a row with them finally showing up on the third day but never during their stated time. Oh, my automatic scheduled delivery this time was set for 1-24-24 and here it is 2-10-24 with still no delivery...they estimate I have 9 days left-BS as furnace gas appliances and furnace are not working now. Cancellation policy is ludicrous-They want $200 for tank removal-guess what, when I get a new company established, I'll switch back to will call and just will never call and if harrassed for not pay 'tank rental', they can come take them themselves. If I thought a lawyer wou prove useful, I'd sue them! They do NOT care about the customer cause they know you're stuck with them... NEVER sign on with AmeriGas as your propane provider unless all you want is a headache! And yes, everyone is Philippians and when asked to speak to a manager, I was told they could not transfer me to one as it is their job to take care of any issues-more BS! Awful, absolutely awful. Do not purchase your propane from them. They give wildly inaccurate delivery estimates and when you call customer service they tell you it will be delivered that day... this goes on for WEEKS. When you ask to speak to a supervisor you are hung up on, and in one case, my order was canceled. That requires you start the whole process over again. Incompetent, negligent, and liars! We just endured 4 days and 4 nights of no heat, no hot water, and no use of kitchen stove despite our repeated calls for an emergency fill. We were in no way at fault as an automatic fill customer. Amerigas allowed out tank to reach 0%, and left us in this situation Dec 27 to Dec 31. BEWARE Do not give this sorry excuse for a company your business. They are not worthy of even the one star that I had to give in order to leave this review. read more

Requested gas line hook up to my heater. AmeriGas service showed up and said I would have to have estimate before work could be done. Estimate was emailed for $547. I called and discussed with customer service to understand if it was full estimate and included parts and digging. I approved estimate and scheduled service. AmeriGas arrived March 17, 2022 and installed. They then sent me an invoice for $1275 for the service. I called and asked why the amount was over estimate. They indicated that that was cost and declined to acknowledge pre-estimate. I feel as if I have been over charged and at minimum should have been told the job was going to exceed the estimate by over $700. They should have communicated a job change or change order costs and not just sent a bill. read more

I notice that all recent reviews of AmeriGas Propane are 1-star - Not Good. I couldn't agree more. We have been with AmeriGas since they took over Heritage Propane. We have always had an Automatic Delivery arrangement which has resulted in a delivery when they estimate that our tank is getting low based on our prior usage, weather forecast, etc. The company claims it has "recently made changes to better serve you". It seems those changes have resulted in a company that fails to meet customer needs. We currently have no propane in our tank - 0%!!! Which we discovered when we found no hot water, no gas stove, no heat, no gas fireplaces..... So much for Automatic Delivery which they claim means "the days of checking your gauge, calling for deliveries, or running out of propane are over!". Multiple calls over the last 2 days have proved beyond frustrating. All calls now seem to go to a call center somewhere or other - Ohio, North Carolina...never in Tennessee where we live. Apparently a change that they've made is that a customer can not speak directly with a local office. And you can never speak to the same person twice - they may not even be in the same state!! We were put on an "emergency" delivery list which was supposed to bring resolution within 24 hours. We have to be here since the tank is totally depleted so we asked for an estimate of when delivery might be. No one was able to tell us since, of course, they weren't even in the office where the delivery schedule was set. 24 hours came and went and still nothing. This is totally outrageous!!! I was a customer of Heritage Propane for years and they were great. However they were bought by Amerigas recently. I too was afraid that the service might not be as good as before. However, like a previous reviewer I was more than pleased with the customer service, and even set up an on line account to pay my bill. Great folks . read more

AmeriGas recently purchased Heritage Propane. I figured the big company had bought the little company so service might not be so good. However, when I called to have propane delivered, the receptionist was very friendly and suggested that I get enough now to carry through July because the price was expected to be lower in August. And the delivery man was very courteous, I'm very pleased with AmeriGas. read more
