Then, out of nowhere, Fidelity's Back Office placed a restriction on one of my accounts without any explanation. I contacted my account manager via text and email and called the Premium Support line multiple times -- each time I was told the "Legal Team" was still reviewing the case, with no timeline or further details provided. After two months of silence, Fidelity abruptly sent me an account termination email -- again, without any reasoning or justification. It's astonishing how a firm of this size can treat long-time clients so poorly, while other top-tier private asset management firms consistently go above and beyond to serve their customers. Stay far, far away from Fidelity -- a bunch of incompetent and clueless cowards hiding behind their desks, afraid to face their own customers.

I won't review Fidelity as an investment firm per se; that is not my skillset. In general, they are probably the most comprehensive provider of all things investment for your typical investor. If you are reading this, my best advice to you is to not be intimated by the concept of investing. If you have an account with Fidelity (especially due to work 401k) and need to talk to someone, come here (or another branch) if you can. They are salaried employees and not on commission. They tell me if the services they are suggesting will result in a fee/commission for Fidelity. I believe you start with calling the typical 1-800 support and then inquire about seeing a local rep. So far, I have been happy to have someone to talk to face to face, even though I didn't accept all their suggestions. It's still good food for thought. This location is the same as the Hyatt hotel. They validate parking.

I was following up on a question the Bellevue branch had about a transaction I had made the day before. I tried calling the phone at the Bellevue Schwab branch but I could not connect with a person at the local branch. It seems Schwab has lost the importance of having a local branch to serve the people in the area. What could have been a simple call to a local representative ended up with me driving to the office. I don't believe it's a question of having people available because when I arrived at the local branch, three representatives were at the front desk. After finishing my business with one of the representatives, I tried calling from the lobby. I got transferred to Texas. I would ask Schwab to please pickup the phone and talk with your clients.
