We've…read moreworked with 2 other lenders, including Bank of America and had decent experiences where our lenders were personable and had close relationships with the underwriters. I'm not 100% sure with Sammamish but it seems they are just an intermediary and do not have close understanding of the underwriting process. Trevor was unreachable by phone and would e-mail me back or call back a day later. Priscilla seemed to be off or have a vacation notification on every time I tried to email her. Without warning us, Trevor went on paternity leave the week of closing, and Priscilla left on vacation. We were left with their supervisor who was 100% more competent, but extremely busy. Right before closing, Trevor also told me that we either needed to buy down more interest and pay them more money, which didn't make sense as we bought a house that was 1/2 our purchasing power. Our realtor emailed and called them (we had given consent) without any response and noted they were one of the worst and most nerve wracking groups she had dealt with. We had no idea if we would close on time, even the day of closing. We were living in an AirBnB and not sure whether we would be homeless the next day or if we should book a hotel. When I spoke with Stacey their supervisor about this the day before closing, she said "this isn't even as close as we come sometimes, don't worry!" which made me worry even more. I just found out that they immediately transferred our loan to another bank a month after closing. They have a ton more reviews than other servicers and I would be extremely concerned some of them are fake.

I'd recommend booking an appointment in person or through the phone so that you can get 1 to 1 service in an office. My dad and I had an appointment at 4:30pm and came about 10 minutes early, and the person helping us allowed us into his office. Shoutout to Joe, he was extremely helpful, gave great advice to build credit score, and walked me through each of the steps! He can definitely do so much work within a short amount of time - really great efforts. Overall, this bank and the staff are helpful. There is parking available right out front. This bank is also easily located in the corner of a plaza, so afterwards you can walk around to the shops!

While our beginning interactions with the actual loan officer ran smoothly (and we were riding the momentum of being pretty excited), Guild Mortgage is deficient in the paperwork/record keeping/coordination portion of the transaction (as in, the morning you're going in to physically sign any paperwork, a representative will email you to ask you if you're SURE you work for the company you said you work for and ask you to send an email from your corporate account as proof) and, unfortunately, as a special parting gift to you, they bookend the experience by placing your name and information on 14810485820 spam mailing lists (both email and snail mail) which, in this era, is totally unacceptable and tone deaf. Example: it's been about 2 years since I've been in contact with them, but today I received an email saying I've been "set up with Hombot", as if they're doing me an awesome favor (sigh, it has "bot" in the name). Talk about selling out your customers. Not cool.
