We recently changed banks and needed our account and routing number updated by Schwab. We emailed them our request. The office manager, who knows us, replied by saying that ANYONE could be emailing her the routing and account number and to make that change we would need a letter from the bank. I would understand this if she didn't know us or had never received email from us before, but she DOES know us. This red tape seems excessive considering that we have been in the branch numerous times. Very disappointed with the level of customer service.

The customer service was excellent and provided us with all the information we needed about who to contact to provide our new account information. They also set it up that any ACH debit and credit accounts that we used would automatically be honored on our new account for 60 days, giving us plenty of time to make the switch. We have always been treated with friendly, courteous service and recommend them to everyone looking for a credit union in this area (Indiana).

About 5 years later I received notice that fees of $50/yr would be charged for accounts with value $25K or less. Mine was worth less than $50 so I called & said to send my stock in Paper. HL said they no longer do that. They offered to buy my stock . . . For 1 Dollar. What was I to do, they had me by the short hairs. Do I take the dollar or pay $50 fee for my $25 worth of stock. I took the dollar. I called mom because I knew she didn't have more that $25K worth of stock with them. Glad they got bought out! Trust NO Investor!
