So, when we came back home, my wife took on this mission of trying to find an equivalent spa experience that was as peaceful and beautiful as those overseas, but not crazy Canadian expensive. Only You Esthetics was such a place. It is a picturesque little house on Hawthorne Street with incadescent lighting and curtains in the windows. And inside, it still maintains a homey feel. It has all the spa treatments you would ever want - massage, that stone thing where they put rocks on your back, face massages and treatments that reverse aging!, manicures, pedicures and - yikes! - waxing. Pedicures are $38, but you can spoil yourself with a pedicure featuring massage and a hot bath for your feet. That runs about $58 - not too bad considering it cost $40 or so in Korea. What a great idea for a business! Good for your mind and body, inside and out! With a Yoga studio upstairs, nail salon and massage parlour on the second level as well, and a cut and blow out bar downstairs along with a cafe! I participated in the Yoga class taught by Cathy, one of the regular instructors. Very nice class. Was very crowded, but we each had enough space to stretch. After our class we all congregated in the lounge area for a bite to eat and some socializing. The Pear and Brie panini was to die for, with bits of apple mixed in for a very fresh crunch in your sandwich, the coffee was fantastic as well! While there my experience was great and though I anticipated the pain, when we left I was not concerned. After an hour when I said my area was still hot my doctor friend, whose appointment I joined, said that was strange. We inspected and found that several strips of my skin was removed. The next day I returned to Toronto and called Accent on Beauty, they refused to return my money and offered me an in store credit, despite me saying that I did not live in Ottawa. At the time I was calling while waiting at a walk-in clinic and the owner Darlene (?) said that I would have to return to Ottawa to verify that it was her salon's mistake and not something I have done. When I offered to show her a photograph she also said that would not confirm that I did not mutilate my own crotch. I was stunned that this woman would not credit me $30 and implied that I may have intentionally ripped my skin off my body. I am part Asian and my skin scars dark. The effected area is at the seam of my pubic area and my leg and I have had to sit wide legged and lubricated with polysporon to help the skin grown back. This is the complete opposite of the sexy that i thought I would feel and will last way longer than the wax job. After all this, and all I will continue to deal with as I heal and treat my new darkened crease, I was only offered a credit to my account that I cannot even fulfill as I live in Toronto.
