He and his team did an OK job but the problems we soon discovered were: 1) they had used the wrong paint on the doors and all of the door started appealing within a few weeks. 2) Also, they came back to touch up the walls but used the wrong finish paint and now the house is full of spots that reflect with light. 3) However, the real issue is he was also hired to paint/epoxy the garage floor. Unfortunately, it started peeling within months and then he told me it was because we had an EV and we did not tell him about it. After consulting with Sherwin-Williams rep, they said that was not the problem. It was not finished right. Alex said he would warranty the work and came out to patch up some of the spots that were peeling. Those spots quickly peeled right up. On top of this, Alex had asked me to fully remove everything from our garage, which took me over five hours to move by myself. He then told me he would be coming back later to fully refinish the floor in which I needed to remove everything from the garage once again. I had moved everything outside and wrapped it with tarps as it was raining that week and he never showed up. So I had to move ALL of our items both out of the garage and back in for no reason. I have back issues with the pending back surgery and after this I could not walk for three days. He then told me he would be coming out at a later time (Third time visit ) to fix the floors and for me to again to remove all the items. I did not do any moving this time knowing he has not showed up before and once again he did not show up. At this point in time, he does not answer any of my messages and has also stopped responding to the Sherwin-Williams paint rep who provide all the materials and he said he needs to do the job right. Based on the not best quality of work and the fact that he simply does not warranty his work and will stop answering your emails - I would highly recommend to find another dependable contractor. He told me it would be $500 to remove two sections of chimney and then when he got home to provide the rest of the pricing, he said it was $1100. When I asked why he said because he told me it was $800 (not $500) plus money to fix the flooring, even though that was never even asked for. But the ridiculous thing is before letting him come inside to cut open walls and mess with plumbing, I hired him to do some simple painting on the front porch. As they say a fool with a tool is still a fool, and this fool cannot even use a basic paintbrush. He was completely sloppy, not even painting all of the trim, but leaving a mess on the floor even though I told him I would give him plastic. He said don't worry he'll take care of it. The most ridiculous thing is that he started to paint some of the accent trim on the porch that was not supposed to be painted whatsoever and he painted it only halfway because he was so lazy to reach behind or remove a few pieces of a bush and left it half painted. When I asked him why he would even do this and why he didn't finish he said why am I complaining? It wasn't even part of the job.! Also, I was under the impression that he finished the painting fully and started to do the other project so I Zelled him more than half the money. When he told me none of the other work had been started I asked for a refund in which he responded with a text I'm not providing any money back.! Also, as with the picture, he was supposed to fix some rotten door trim with putty and I think a blind monkey could've done a better job. He promptly provided a quote by the next day if not that same evening. I felt it was a fair quote and price for the amount of repairs needed considering the unknown of the extent of the interior floor damage. The quote listed the down payment needed for materials for the job. I accepted the quote and Levi put me on his schedule for about 3 weeks out. He said repairs would take about 5 days at the time of the estimate and it took 4 1/2 days. Repairs were quality. I am very happy and pleased with my repairs and experience. Highly recommend. I have a few other smaller projects that will need to be done in the future and I will definitely call Levi at Bassett Construction again for my other repair needs.
