Kyle was excellent and really helped us gain peace of mind with the purchase of our new house. Even though the house is brand new and built by a very reputable builder, there are still oversights. Kyle identified several of these issues and our builder cooperated promptly to make the corrections he recommended. One of the issues involved enlisting the help of a structural engineer to oversee and certify the corrections in the truss system. It's very important to have these corrections made on the front side with certified documentation to maintain and safeguard the value of the home. He also promptly set up a radon and mold testing by our request the day of our first meeting on site. Watch out for this company. I purchased a house in North Myrtle and used Amerispec for the Home Inspection. Shortly afterwards (within a year) the roof needed to be replaced as there were two leaks and many missing shingles. The HVAC needed to be replaced within 3 years and the hot water heater within 4 years. They did point out that the sprayer on the kitchen faucet was inoperable and some smoke detectors needed to be replaced. So the previous owner got off with about $150.00 worth of repairs prior to closing while I was stuck with about $15,000.00! Almost impossible to go after these frauds due to laws and the way that the inspection contracts are written. They are not responsible for anything. Stay away from Amerispec. read more

Our home was inspected about a week ago and we insisted that they wear masks while in our home. We had to go out and while we were gone they REMOVED their masks in our homes. When we returned we had to TELL THEM to put it back on. In the age of COVID19 this ENDANGERED myself who is a senior citizen, my wife who is also a senior citizen and we have a severely disabled son IN A WHEELCHAIR that has lots of issues including seizures and dystonic posturing and to HAVE a INSPECTORS show NO RESPECT or CONCERN for our health to do this. And add that 3000 NEW cases showed up in new hanover county and 13 new deaths. David Piedmont was the inspector that TOOK OFF his mask and had to be TOLD to put it back on. And then they took VENGEANCE on us on the inspection by being SUPER SUPER NICK PICKY on everything. What a DISGRACE. a 2 hr and 45 minute inspection turn into 5 plus hours and the last 2 in PITCH BLACK. read more

Stuart Vick of Amerispec in Wilmington, NC, is a speculative narcissist when it comes to detail. Not only does he inspect what's wrong with a house; he also contributes and adds to what is wrong with a house inspection. He used a drone without the home owner's permission which is considered an offense against the FAA and personal privacy act. He also disconnected an air conditioner drain line in the attic by a distance of one foot which was to add to the report of a "roof leak" causing more damage to the ceiling. He also was extremely rude to the homeowner and left the oven on "clean" without homeowner's knowledge which can cause a possible fire. After 5 grueling hours and 55 pages of notes, he went to go look under the house. Unfortunately but commonplace in the country side, he found a snake on the outside wall of the crawl space. To our surprise he shrieked like a girl and refused to enter calling the house an "infested snake pit". I do not recommend Stuart Vick; he is unprofessional & disrespectful. read more
