It seems the place to be for the people with a bob or two to pend, and it has a spa type leisure complex offering up to date lavish treatment that cost a pretty penny. While the accommodation can sometimes be a little on the small side, the rooms are clean and quite well appointed. The restaurant is very good, with a high standard. The staff were attentive and polite and we found the restaurant manager to be particularly attentive to our needs. In contrast, the hotel staff can be a little hit-and-miss, although never rude. Breakfast at weekends is a rather chaotic affair, with seating arrangements particularly difficult. Food ran out quite quickly and wasn't replaced fast enough, so a lot of time was spent queuing. Toast and coffee were not coordinated with the food and often arrived after the breakfast meal had been consumed. Dinner (3 courses with wine) is about £45-£50 pp, depending on your choices, but it is of a high standard. The room-rate ranges upward from about £100 per night. The hotel offers a pool and fitness facilities and, of course, there is ample scope to go walking around the beatiful countryside. A great place for a relaxing, quiet weekend with good food.

This place has AMAZING customer service. The people at the desk were friendly and helpful and had answers for all of my idiotic American questions like, "How do I turn the lights on in my room?" Yes, guys, lights work differently in American hotels. When I flip the switch, lights turn on, I don't need a lesson from Hogwarts to make my lights work. In the hotel, the bar, the restaurant, and the room service all serve the exact same food at the same prices with the exception of maybe one or two items. And it's all pretty good! Like surprisingly good! The one star I've deducted was because there wasn't a mini fridge in my room. There's a mini fridge in EVERY SINGLE American hotel room. When the hotel bar charges me five quid for a beer, the obvious answer is to go to Tesco and get a six pack for five pounds. But wait, where do I keep it cold? Other than the fridge this place is great!

I must say the staff here were especially friendly and imparted lots of local knowledge which made it easier for me to get around. I did encounter a problem with a 'lady' playing music full blast at 6am, but a quick call to reception had that sorted out within minutes. The guy on the desk took the trouble to come and listen and then dealt with it. Would recommend this place for business stays and as a base for exploring. Also the Harvester next door has really friendly staff - food is good but fairly limited, however free salad bar was a bonus.

Our rooms were beautiful, the bed so comfortable, and the relaxing soaking tub was the perfect end to a wonderful wedding celebration. All the appointments and details are too many to mention here but if you ever have an opportunity to visit the Cambridgeshire area, you would be lucky to stay here. I have to give a special shout out to the general manager, Christine, for going above and beyond to help us. We had ordered taxis to the wedding and the first taxi went without incident, but the second taxi left our group. Another taxi was not available for almost an hour so Christine drove us to the wedding so that we would not be late for the event. She absolutely a perfect guide on the drive and so very kind! The breakfast was delicious and the service perfect in the restaurant and the bar. I simply cannot say enough nice things !
