These guys are AMAZING! There are newer tour companies coming into the area,but our family will stick with this one!! It is a locally owned company. The tour guides/owners grew up here and know the mangroves inside out. We love that they are not just taking us out for fun, but also teaching us about conservation. If they come across any trash, they pick it up. They carry pliers with them to help pull hooks out of the local wildlife. Their hearts and soul are invested in this area. They are super friendly, patient, and a lot of fun! We won't go anywhere else!!! read more

Great experience! Cost about 50 a piece and it was our first time paddle boarding. They are very patient and take the time to show you the ropes and get everybody comfortable before starting. We went early in the day and it was absolutely beautiful, they took us through the mangroves and saw various birds and marine wildlife that aren't afraid to get close but are very friendly. Our tour guide was great and made it a fun enjoyable experience for all and took plenty of pictures for us to remember. A must do when visiting Anna Maria island! read more

Our family of 4 had a great time with AMI Paddleboard Adventures! We opted for standup paddle boards but there were many in our group that chose kayaks. I'm glad we were on paddleboards and able to sit, stand or kneel on our 2-hour adventure through the mangrove trees. Kayakers didn't have that option but it all comes down to personal preference. Our two guides were fun, laid back and provided plenty of instruction and information along the way. My 14 year old daughter got a little tired toward the end of the tour. We were crossing back across the bay and had a good wind working against us and by the time we were out in the open in full sun. One of the guides circled back (no SUP left behind!), tied a rope from his SUP to hers and they worked together for the last leg of the trip. I thought that was really sweet. Bottom line....she was capable, I think the wind wore her out and then she hit the wall and needed to fuel up. She also river kayaks often and said that the SUP was a lot more strenuous than kayaking. With that in mind, if you have younger kids, kayaks would probably be a better choice since you exert less energy. For me-I wouldn't trade the SUP for anything! I loved it and plan on buying one to use on our lake back home. The mangrove 'tunnels' were my favorite part. On the SUPs, you will need to kneel or sit and sometimes go 'Tarzan' to pull yourself through with the branches. That was the best and there was plenty of shade. I recommend wearing a wide brimmed hat, bring water, even a power bar if you don't eat prior to going. Definitely sunscreen up! Although you do go through the shaded mangroves, most was in full sun. We opted not to wear swimsuits and wore shorts/tank tops instead. None of us fell in. Ha ha! You do have to wade about thigh deep to get on your paddleboard or kayak. No shoes are necessary on the SUP and the outfitters let you lock your shoes/belongings in their truck while out. This trip was definitely a highlight for us. Recommend to go early-we did the 9am to avoid the mid-day sun. If you are staying on AMI and rent a golf cart, know that you cannot drive the golf cart over the bridge to the meeting spot. We opted to park on the AMI side of the bridge (there is a park/lauch area) and walked the 1/2 mile across the bridge on the secure pedestrian/bike lane. Really glad we did, we enjoyed seeing the boats in the bay and even saw dolphins. read more

This was a great find for us on our last trip to AMI. It was just the 2 of us and our guide Andrew paddling through the mangroves. He gave me helpful tips on maneuvering my paddle board while my husband opted for a kayak. Andrew had vast knowledge of the ecosystem and was the perfect guide, low key but friendly. Location for launch was easy to find and the equipment was well maintained. It was an overall enjoyable experience. read more

This adventure was fantastic! Our guide, Rick, was so knowledgeable on all the creatures big and small. From the interesting facts about the jelly fish to the oysters growing on the Mangrove roots. We even had a Comoran bird following us. Flying, diving, and swimming along side us that Rick fondly calls George! We enjoyed going into the Mangrove coves and learning about the interesting route system. Overall, it was well worth the money. read more

I have done my fair share of kayaking and tours and this one might have been the best! The mangrove tour they take you on is just beautiful and so relaxing. You navigate through narrow passages through the mangroves. My guides were very kind and sure to add a good amount of facts! They also take photos of you to post on their Facebook page for you to save. read more

We booked a kayak tour with Ami paddle boarding this past week and it was fantastic. Ben was our guide and we absolutely loved him. He was cheerful and knowledgeable and gave such a great tour! He even helped us look and spot some of the local wildlife. We tried to book with another company but hurricane matthew had passed the day before and they told us thered be no tours for the whole weekend. We were so bummed as we were looking forward to the tour. They gave us Bens number and he told us he wasnt sure how the water would be and to call him the next day early to see what we could do. This is a really great company and Id recommend them to everyone! read more

Initially I wanted to give One star. Their customer service was very lacking. I called early to find out if they had boards available. As they did we came straight there from the east side of town all the way to the beach to find out they only take cash. I was going to pay double I offered to write a big check and come back with the cash. I begged because my granddaughter wanted to paddleboard before she went back home. Which is New Orleans. They refused turning down business future business 50 to 100 bucks and hey sweet girls hope. Because of the way they do business they almost lost two more customers except I kept him there while I waited for her to take my money to pay for my granddaughter. But what pissed me off was when she refused to called the owner or the manager and kept telling me her boss wouldn't let her. Come to find out she is the owner.She got three stars because she finally decided to be nice when I saved her $40 of other customers and right ran my ass all over every hour to pick get cash. Would've been a great experience with that all that trouble read more
