We booked a rental for jet skis for December 30th, paid online and showed up at the expected time. We waited at the boat slip for 1/2 hour and no staff from AMI water sports ever showed up. After calling, emailing and texting we received a response that the waters were too rough and they needed to cancel. While I appreciate the commitment to safety, we never received any notification of the cancellation. Perhaps they entered the phone number incorrectly... but attention to detail is necessary in business dealings. An email, phone call and/or text would have been appreciated. To date, we have not received a refund for over $500. My last two text messages to inquire about the refund have gone unanswered. We go to AMI often, and will not book with this group for any future trips. read more

My experience was amazing! Danny was great and super nice, he gave us time on multiple occasions to just ride around and jump waves or do whatever on our jetskis. We did the island tour, he is very knowledgeable and we even got off to go find shells and sand dollars on the sand bar. Danny took us to see dolphins, and we got to go under several bridges and drawbridges. So much fun!! read more

Boat was fine except moron boat attendants could do a better job telling renters about their rules and regulations. First of all the attendant didn't explain his policies accurately. Secondly he didn't coach you out of the extremely tight space it was in. The throttle was very tight as was the steering so it made it a little difficult to navigate out and in to the spot. But that's neither here nor there as that is just a little extra time. As long as no damage is done but it would be way beneficial to have someone coach you through the process. Which he did not. But here is my issue. I don't mind businesses trying to make money but when they are out to purposely rip People off with nonsense that's where I have a huge problem. I am a boat owner and I live in Florida. I know exactly how to navigate the waters around Florida. I stay inside the channel markers and we went to one place today. We went to jewfish key. We couldn't have been more careful as we went into the sand bar and cut the engine off way before it was even close to touching sand. I know the prop never touched any sand at all. When you stay between the channel markers and pull up to a Sand bar and the prop never touches sand. It's a little difficult to accept that you are being charged $25 for prop damage. LOL. How ridiculous is that. As I know 100% that when I took this boat out the prop was in the same condition. As it was 8 hours earlier. My only regret was I didn't take a picture of the prop before I left. And anyone who rents I encourage you to take a picture of the prop before you leave. However my issue is that the boat attendant said as long as there is no dents in the prop you are ok. So we got back and we got charged $25 for prop damage. This wise was kid with dark long curly hair starts yelling at me saying I can charge you the full amount of you want me too. Just an obnoxious statement to make to a customer who just spent a lot of money. He said that they spray paint their props and it their is more there is more then 3 more niches off of the props it was rubbed by sand. What a joke. I mean the water in parts are so shallow it could be rubbed by seaweed. They don't mention how flat it is getting in and out. And the closest my prop ever came to sand was seaweed. There is no way we should be charged 25 for prop damage when it's based off of paint stripped. You mean when we rented the boat or was rubbed off significantly. I bet any amount of money that almost every person gets charged this amount. I'm actually furious. I'm furious because we paid $375 for the day plus the gas plus $25 in cash and an additional $50 on the credit card. You could care less about the $25 prop fee. I'm furious as it's an insult to my intelligence and a boat owner and someone familiar with these waters and also knowing how cognizant I was about making. Sure the boat nor the prop ever hit sand. I'm so pissed about this and it has nothing to do with the $25 it has to to with customer service and the rude customer service and the complete snot nose arrogant staff that is there. That prop looked exactly the way it did when it was returned. That's just their little trick to get an extra $25 out of you. So renter beware. When you rent from then make sure you take your cell phone and take a picture of the prop before and after. But either way. It's ridiculous that they can come up with a lame excuse like that. Just because something is spray painted doesn't mean there is damage. There was no damage to that prop. It then the jack ass attendant tells me to lower my voice or he will charge me the whole amount. Totally ruined such a great day out in the water. RENTER BEWARE. read more

The short version: This has been the worst and by far most unprofessional business experience I had in my life being a 50 year old attorney and CEO. Stay away! The long version: In July 2021 we made a reservation for the 2021 holidays and made a downpayment of $500. The boat was supposed to be delivered to our vacation rental in the morning of 12/27/21 and was supposed to be the vacation boat for two families with two kids each for six days until 1/2/22 The Monday our rental agreement started, we were told by text and during various phone conversations every 30 to 60 minutes that the boat would arrive shortly. That Monday afternoon we were told that we would get a full refund instead. I explained that we want the boat and no refund. From then on they ignored all calls and text messages. They stated by email that they had issued the refund to my credit card "which I could see in the receipt attached to the email"... They 'forgot' to attach the receipt. Obviously this receipt never existed as you will learn whilst the story continues. After having posted my first brief one star review on google, they reestablished communication , apologized and suggested to make up for my bad experience and deliver us the boat for free for the Saturday. In return they asked me to then reflect this in my review which I agreed to. I pushed to get my refund first which I finally got on Friday through Apple Pay with some lengthy explanation why the credit card didn't work and additional remarks that aimed to make me feel pity and bad for them. It is now Saturday afternoon and I have not received the boat. We are leaving AMI tomorrow. The kids have been extremely disappointed and so has been the rest of the family. I counted the communication and I ended up having 78 text messages, close to ten emails and phone calls with Ami watersports. I had to announce legal proceedings multiple times to get my deposit back. I have not seen anything from them but the highest level of unprofessional business conduct I ever experienced and many hours wasted of my personal vacation time. I don't write lengthy reviews if I write reviews at all but I felt that AMI watersports really worked hard for this one and deserves every bit of it. read more

Back in October, they canceled on us multiple times. The tour itself was great once it finally happened. We were offered a $100 refund for our trouble. It took multiple calls to get that in November. Now, Februrary 2022, they have started charging us a $100 recurring monthly fee! Their website is down and their voicemail box is full. I'm having to dispute with my credit card company and figure out how to get refunded and this recurring payment stopped. What a mess! read more

Awful. Trips were cancelled 4 times with increasingly unbelievable excuses. After the 4th time, we said no thanks and asked for a refund. Response was "okay". No refund received as of today. There are much better choices for watersports on the island. I have used three others in the past two years with no issues, and no requirement to pay in full in advance. Wasted my whole day on this joint. Had a reservation and when we got there , there was no boat & no back up plan for the boat. Sat around and waited for "another boat" that was "supposed to be back at 1" which as of 1:45 still hadn't showed. Management has a "aww shucks" attitude and ended it with a "oh well" if you value the little time that you have to spend with family don't waste it on this place. I've rented at the other spots on the beach and had no issues. Only chose this place coz of the location as it was within walking distance from our house. Whole day ruined! Now I'm at a seafood restaurant and guess who hates seafood ? This guy !! I understand shit happens but as a business owner you have to have a backup plan and communicate with your customers and this place was 0-2 in that regard. ‍ read more

Rented a 20' deck boat today. Yamaha 4stroke ran like a dream and boat was well equipped minus a vhf radio. I supplied my own but thought that was surprising. Wind was up, but we ventured way down the inter-coastal and found a spot in the lee. Overall a great experience. Staff was helpful and pleasant. The old lady that works in this place is a witch! She is so mean and unkind to customers. We rented a boat and when we paid, she charged us for more gasoline than what we used. She even told us that we could get a refund but the young guys that work at this place would be charged for it since it was their mistake ( which it wasn't ). She even told us that she wouldn't care if we didn't rent with them anymore and this was our third year in a raw renting a boat here. On the other hand, The guys that work here are so nice and kind....if you are going to tip them give them cash because I'm sure that if you leave it on the tap she will no give it to them. We rented a fishing boat from AMI. The customer service was great! All the guys are very knowledgable about boats and the surrounding area. The rental was straight forward. You pick what ever boat you want the only extra fees are taxes, fuel, and if you hit shallow water you have to paid for any damages to the propeller. Rented a Jetski today..... We did the tour + free ride for 1.5 hours. It was an absolute blast. Rented before all over the US. Sawyer was AWESOME. FRESH from Hawaii, he knew what he was doing and knew exactly where to take us. We visited the sand bars, saw a shark and several dolphins and had a blast wave jumping. Reserved a pontoon boat for 14 but got an 8 seater deck boat instead. The owner, barb, told us we were wrong and that we requested the 8 seater. We are on vacation with 10 people so that makes sense. They charged us for the 14 footer (how does that work?). Not to mention, the canopy snapped within the first hour of our rental. Things happen, but don't tell your clients that they're wrong when you screw things up. Barb, the owner, booked our rental too. Well done Barb, well done. If there were zero stars that's what this rating would be. I always rent boats from the BRADENTON BEACH MARINA. Three weeks before the 4TH of July, we went to Bradenton Beach Marina to rent a Pontoon boat for July 4th, all their boats were booked for that day. We then went to the AMI WATERSPORTS to rent a Pontoon boat. We were told by the girl that helped us that they only have 1 Pontoon boat & the bimini top is being repaired, but it will probably be ready for the 4th of July. She suggested we book a Deck boat & if the pontoon was ready she would give us the Pontoon boat. Fast forward to the 4th of July....Pontoon boat was there but was rented to someone else instead of us. We instead took the Deck boat ($75 more than the Pontoon). Shaun the manager & the girl that originally helped us came to the boat with us to go over a check list. The radio/stereo was not working (AMI Watersports had 3 weeks to make sure this boat was in working order). Shaun tried to switch it out with another boat & that didn't work....AFTER WASTING 1 HOUR OF OUR TIME THAT WE PAID FOR, Shaun told us he would go to Walmart, get a new radio & come find us at Jewfish key, if not he would give us a discount of $100.00 when we bring the boat back. We agreed & went out for the day with NO RADIO. When we came back at the end of the day. I went to pay & there was NO DISCOUNT. I asked where Shaun was & was told hes gone for the day & can't be reached. I explained to the lady what had happened & she told me won't give me the discount. I told her I would not pay the full amount & she told me she was calling the POLICE if I don't pay the full amount. ****DO NOT RENT FROM AMI WATERSPORTS IN HOLMES BEACH FLORIDA***** THEY ARE LIARS**** VERY BAD BUSINESS PEOPLE***DO NOT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS****WILL NEVER RENT FROM AMI WATERSPORTS EVER AGAIN!!!!**** read more
