Amici has been one of my family's favorite restaurants for years now. It's almost ridiculous how often we eat at this place. From birthdays and despedidas to simple dinners, we almost always end up there. It isn't really the best Italian place there is, despite my family's eagerness to come back to it again and again (and again), but the overall experience of dining in Amici is satisfying enough that we know we'd never go wrong by choosing it out of the multitude of restaurants that line Tomas Morato.
They've had changes in recent years which are seen in the price increase. On the plus side, their new interior design provides a more home-y feel, and most of their menu items stayed the same. My favorite, the Red Vongole pasta, is savory and has an adequate amount of seafood. From my experience, the pasta that I ordered once came out a little too salty (perhaps the cook got a little too excited), but the staff was gracious enough to let the cook adjust my dish when I asked them to (nicely, of course!).
I don't think my family's gonna stop eating there anytime soon, but I'm not complaining! read more
