He gives plenty of direction in terms of body placement, posture, hand placement, etc. to give you flawless photos. If you are new to being photographed like me, you'll find this kind of direction extremely helpful and comforting. 2. At the same time, he creates a very calm, light, and fun atmosphere that creates true, genuine moments between you and your significant other. We are two people that usually feel very uncomfortable in front of a camera, however we had such an enjoyable experience with Allen. 3. I really encourage anyone using Allen's services to listen to his recommendations. For example, our original scheduled date was cloudy and overcast. He recommended that we wait for sun if we truly wanted to be happy with our photos. We are so grateful to have listened to him, because the results were wonderful (see attached). There are other photographers that will say that cloudy weather is actually better, however with Allen's technique and skill set, he can do incredible things with the light. We actually stopped the Director, Dorly Cue at an art gallery in McKinney and she stopped her conversations and just talked to us for like an hour about what we wanted for our photos. She came to our house and did pictures of me, my mom, and my sister. Well the photos were amazing! Then she designed this entire photography wall at mom's house (that was an extra charge-not cheap) and she came the next weekend and had someone hang everything up. It was so easy! The whole thing from the time we met her until the photos were framed and hung was two weeks people! Then when I was pregnant we asked Dorly if she could do a mural in the nursery. So I sent her some ideas on pinterest and she sketched some up with another artist that works with her company. Once we agreed on some colors back she comes with the artist/painter and her assistant. Between the three of them the mural was done in two days! It was again less than two weeks from the time I said "Can you do this?" to the time everything was done. She's a really nice lady and I recommend her to everyone. The only thing I would say is she takes around 1-2 days to answer emails so that can be a little bit of a concern if you're on a tight deadline and she's all the way in Plano so if you can't drive out there then you're going to be on the phone or on Skype a lot.

We couldn't be happier with the pictures we ended up picking from the large number of pictures we had to choose from. While Lupita regularly takes "big kid" pictures, like high school portraits, this was her first time working with little kiddos. I appreciated her flexibility as she adjusted her options to address parents' feedback. While it may not be the same next year (she may firm things up based on her experience this first year, if I had to guess), I felt like she took the time to personally deal with us as parents instead of giving the school canned answers or making things very limited and rigid. And I love that she provided access to all the pictures she took of our son, giving us a large set to choose from. It wasn't picking from one or two or even three poses; it was a lot. I've never had that before and I appreciated it. She does a lot of other work, too, and it all seems to be centered around people. She said some parents pay her to literally document their kids' high school experience, taking pictures of their marching band and whatever else they do during high school. Then she puts together a high school scrap book at the end. Pretty neat. She takes a lot of marching band pictures, and the ones I saw were excellent. She shoots both at day and night. And she has a lot of professional gear to take on different situations. From what I saw, high school portraits and activities are her bread and butter. Bottom line: we're extremely pleased with the pictures we ended up with of our son, and I'm very grateful to Lupita for working with me and being flexible. If she does the portraits for our son's school again next year, it will be nice to know ahead of time that they will be great.
