I have taken one class in the past with Amina and back to seek her help for a piece with some guys from my chorus for an dance art piece we wanted to do for a talent show. And though myself and many of the guys we're not professional dancers and a little nervous, she and her wonderful assistant Kiara, made us feel very comfortable. They were able to break down the dance steps to something manageable yet professional for our group as well as being able to build up our confidence in just 2 meetings. She and her team have the ability to teach you dance in a fun way whether you're a dancer or not and just have a great time. Best of all once we performed the piece not only did we get a standing ovation for our performance, they have asked to do it again for a concert in the future. Loved the private lesson I had last week with Amina and Kiara. Scheduled a couple's private Beyoncé dance choreo lesson - Amina was great about reaching out before the lesson to determine our skill levels (there is a significant discrepancy) and what we'd hope to get out of the lesson. During the lesson, Amina and Kiara somehow managed to tailor the lesson to both of our needs, despite the fact that I have almost no dancing experience and that my partner is very experienced. They were really encouraging even when I required extra time before being confident enough to progress further. We agreed after the lesson that Amina and Kiara were great as instructors and I know that I personally am grateful for what was a great date night, and for their patience and the extra time they spent with someone who needed it! For the shy, for the unsure. For those with two left feet, and for those who are too afraid to dance in fear of offending others. This class is for you. Unpretentious and down to earth, Amina is one of the most friendliest instructors you will ever meet. Her classes focus on the basics to hip-hop dancing and provide a good base to learning advance moves later on (level 2). I think one of the most important things to take away from the classes is the confidence that is gained from moves learned independently, used within choreography, and the freestyling with other members of the class. I'm positive you'll become a better dancer if you take this class and realize everyone there is just trying to have some fun. As an instructor, Amina is patient and encouraging to all of her students. Don't take this to mean that she won't be keeping a watchful eye on your form, like any good instructor she will be sure to critique and correct anything that is off. Level 2 is taught by Stetson, who is accurately described by Amina as "not Diva like". He keeps the class fresh and fun with his brow low and the beat up tempo. Be prepared to break a sweat because you will be moving for the majority of the class. The class is much more fast paced and will require you to challenge yourself with moves that require more complicated steps. He also encourages much more freedom and freestyling, this is a way to develop your own personal style. I'm thinking of joining the next Level 2 class (each Level 2 class is different with new moves). The main difference between the two: Level 1 will teach you the basics and raise your confidence level, Level 2 will teach you how to dance. read more

These dance classes are great! Amina and her instructors are really friendly and you end up making friends in the class. Amina teaches the beginner class which is great because it can even teach the most clumsy dancers (like me) how to be good! i even went on to level 2 with stetson which was definitely more challenging and a great workout! with the discounts, the prices are extremely competitive and i think it's worth the investment. read more

I got a private Beyonce dance class for myself and my two sisters as a Christmas gift. It was FANTASTIC! Amina was very personable and patient while keeping us focused on learning our routine. We went over in time, but she never made us feel rushed. She did a great job teaching us despite the wide range of age differences (I'm 30, my youngest sister is 10). At the end she videoed our performance and sent us the link on youtube so we could share it with our friends and family. I cannot recommend this enough! Amina is an outstanding instructor. I don't dance at all but this year I decided I'm going to be uncomfortable and try something new. I signed up for a private class, and Amina is very kind and motivating. She not only met all of my expectations but went above and beyond to exceed them. When I first did an online search and discovered Amina's class she answered my inquiries promptly and thoroughly described what she had to offer. As a man, I was a bit apprehensive to enroll in a hip-hop class, because most that I see tend to have more feminine movements and overly choreographed. Amina has the ability to cater two more masculine movements, or feminine movements. My goal was to develop a strong base that I can build upon. I have always liked to go out, but I never really knew any moves. I had even tried to imitate dances from music videos, but just couldn't seem to make my body perform . Amina can really break down how to make the moves work, even for someone like me who thought they had no rhythm. She was extremely patient with everyone in the class, and had a great attitude when it came to her students. I would highly recommend Amina's classes, because they're fun and you learn a lot. I have tried other dance schools in the area and lost interest after the first class. Looove Amina's class! I've been looking for an affordable and fun intro hip hop class for a while, and after failing miserably at all the drop-in classes that are offered around my area (they're always packed with people who definitely should NOT be in beginner classes), I stumbled across Amina's hip hop class. It's so much fun, and Amina is so patient and great at breaking down moves so that even a total beginner can pick them up. Level 2 is definitely a jump from Level 1 but so much fun and the teachers are just as patient and encouraging. I feel like I've finally become comfortable with dancing and understand my body better. So fun! I had zero dancing ability, but I've always wanted to know how. I was always a little shy about going to a dance class though -- I thought maybe I would just have to be one of those people in life with no rhythm. My boyfriend signed up for the class for us to do together so I wouldn't be shy about going, and we had a great time. The class is such a comfortable environment. In the Level 1 class, Amina did a great job breaking down step by step how to do the moves, and also how to improve our technique. The music selections were great: they were popular songs you'd hear anywhere, which helps you visualize doing the moves again later. The class was small enough that we got individualized attention, but large enough that we didn't feel isolated. The whole experience was a very comfortable, fun way to learn. I feel a lot more confident now that we're at the end, but I am going to repeat Level 1 to get the moves down a little better -- I am a huge procrastinator and didn't practice diligently with the videos Amina sends every week. But I think just once through the class can vastly improve anyone's dancing style and confidence. The location is great too! I took a Beyoncé class and I didn't really like it. I was very disappointed in the choreography. I personally do not think the instructor/choreographer can dance. She is often off count and off beat. The choreography is too simple and unoriginal. This class is for someone who has no dance training or background. I wouldn't recommend it to any train dancers or anyone looking for a challenge. This is a great place to learn how to dance..I've always loved watching good dancers but never had the courage to do it myself...I've tried several different places to learn how to dance but I've never got much out of those...in the contrary, I felt I couldn't be thought and dance just wasn't my thing. Then I tried Amina's classes and I really liked it. She knows how to break the moves and is VERY patient. At the end of each class, she takes a video of the class dancing and even though I didn't like to watch myself on tape it's a great learning tool!!! I am still not a dancer but I feel I've made progress..I'll keep doing it until I feel comfortable..and I think she'll get me there.
