Like many people, I did not have any plans in place if I unexpectedly passed away, or was no longer capable in making decisions for myself. So, I decided to look into creating a living trust. I wasn't familiar with the process at all so I reached out to Amity Law Group. I first spoke with Kate, one of their paralegals. Kate was very helpful and provided me with detailed information regarding the services that Amity Law provides, as well as a living trust checklist . The checklist was for me to list information about myself, who I designated as my beneficiaries and trustees, as well as how I wanted my assets distributed. Kate set up a free consultation call with an attorney, Jennifer Fu. Jennifer explained everything that would be covered in the living trust, and answered all of my questions. After speaking with Jennifer, I felt very comfortable with moving forward and creating the living trust. Kate put together the paperwork and went over them with me, then I signed all of the necessary documents. Another plus was the fact that Kate was also a notary public, making it even more convenient. The living trust laid out everything perfectly: who I wanted to make decisions for me, what assets should be distributed and to whom. It would also make it simple for my family to deal with, so they won't have to worry about getting my affairs in order. I highly recommend Amity Law Group. The lawyer who was in charge of my moms trust is incompetent and is inexperienced. This law group is also unethical. The lawyer did not make the trust the way my mom wanted giving the POA full power with no restrictions and the POA took my mom while she was confused to remove one her children and giving that child's share to the POA. There were so many red flags that the lawyer and firm ignored after multiple phone calls from me stating that the POA is taking advantage of her. It appears as though the company just wants money and doesn't care about the client. We are going with another attorney to get a restatement done to make sure it's done properly. The owner stated she would give a refund which was weeks ago and we have yet to receive it. If I could give this place no stars, I would. I do not recommend this place at all. read more

I originally contacted Amity back in 2018 inquiring about a Living Trust. At that time Jennifer (Partner of the firm) was assisting me and was very kind and answered all my questions. However, at the time my wife and I were not ready to commit to a Living Trust. Fast forward to March 2020 during the COVID-19 situation we decided to reached out to them again and was greeted by Jason, whom scheduled an appointment to speak with Jennifer again via phone. Jennifer was very patience to answer all of our questions from my wife and I. After the call we felt very confident that this is the best time to complete the process. We completed their checklist and 2 weeks later we got a draft of our Living Trust. My wife and I both read it through and made comments/questions to ask (50+ questions). Jason setup a time to discuss our questions with Jennifer. Not only did Jennifer answer all of our questions, she was able to answer them in terms we can understand. Then 3 days prior to the signing, we had a few changes and Jason was great to help assist in the changes and everything went smoothly. I had a consultation to gain conservatorship of my brother who is extremely mentally ill. After the consultation I told the attorney I'd have to speak with the rest of my family before moving forward with our case. After speaking with my family we were leaning towards hiring Amity but had a few questions. I called twice and sent two emails and received no reply. In my second email I even added "if you don't want to take our case please let me know so I can look for representation elsewhere." It's ok if they don't want to represent us... that's their prerogative. But simply ignoring us is very unprofessional. read more
