My husband has a very real fear of dogs due to a traumatic childhood experience in which he witnessed another child lose their life from a dog attack. Although the dog in the store appeared very friendly, my husband remained by the door, visibly uncomfortable, hoping the owner would call the dog back. Instead of recognizing my husband's fear, the owner became extremely hostile. He aggressively told my husband to "get the F out" and "F him," insisting the dog was a service animal. When I tried to explain and apologize, I was also cursed at and told to "get the F out" simply for trying to deescalate the situation. I was so shaken that I nearly had an anxiety attack. This is a business open to the public, and the owner should be more mindful that not everyone is comfortable around dogs. There are respectful ways to handle situations like this. A responsible business owner should be able to recognize and respond appropriately to a customer's fear, especially when it involves an animal. This experience was incredibly upsetting and, in my opinion, handled with zero professionalism or compassion. Although I didn't buy anything the first time, I did on my second time I came in... and again, Spike was very helpful, explained all the differences, and upgrades. Offered great advice on what to get. He did not lead with the expensive guns, but instead explained pros and cons on each. Based on our conversation, picked out what I wanted, and will now be picking it up in 10 days. So if you're looking for a great shop, great prices and no pressure, this is the place for you.
